Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven, Spellbinder Mediteranean Medallion and Spellbinders Create a Rose
Greetings friends….hallelujah, spring is coming!!  I love everything about spring and it makes me reach for the powdery light pastel colors of heavenly flowers.  Today I have a clean and simple card to share and I wanted to show off the gorgeous detail of a new embossing folder – Spellbinders Mediterranean Medallion.  It’s a card made using a new sentiment from the Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven set from JustRite Papercraft and doubles down for sympathy or for someone who is going through a hard time.  For the latter occasion, I send out many cards – probably more so than birthdays.  How about you?
WRBF-4171-2014
I wanted a soft flowing look for my flower so I simply diecut using pink tissue paper and Spellbinders Create A Rose.   The finished rose was glued down to the top of my bow then I embellished the card front with a cameo button from my stash.
WRBF-4172-2014
The embossing detail is so lovely and it would be a shame to cover it up!  What a struggle for me!  After that, I sat on my hands so I wouldn’t be tempted to keep adding.  Yes, it was very hard :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercraft – Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White 80 lb, PTI, Pink Tissue Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and Clear Embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders Mediterranean Medallion, Spellbinders Create A RoseCameo Button, Paper Source Satin Ribbon, Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

Yay spring, get here soon!!  Hope you’re having a beautiful day wherever you are!

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Fiive, Fleur de Lis Squares, Flourish Corners and Bird Banner
Greetings friends! I wanted to slip in today with a card for my stash that I wanted to share. The paper is so lovely and I cringe that I covered it up as much as I did but I had a series of dies I really wanted to use. I started out using  Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares  inside (Spellbinders Classic Squares SM) helped me make it a frame too).  Tucked in the upper and lower corners of the square I filled in with Spellbinders Corner Flourish.  I couldn’t resist the little birdie on the banner so I placed Spellbinders Bird Banner on the inside which is stamped with a Wordsworth sentiment.   Lastly the flowers on my bow are created with Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms.

WRBF-4149-2014
My card today users older dies except for one, so I’m happy to share the how-to cause you can make it now.  By the way, the I added the gold birdie by just cutting the die an additional time and snipping it off from the banner.  With Corner Flourish, I positioned each flourish underneath my frame and snipped off the excess – I love that inside look!

You Can Make This Card Too:  Start out with a hinged card base sized 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.  Here are the rest of the layers from the bottom up.  Foam tape to lift gold mat layer cut to 5-1/4″ x 7-1/4″, design paper layer cut to 5-1/8″ x 7-1/8″, double layer of foam tape (I use Scotch 3M Foam tape that is 1/16″ thick) to lift frame cut using Majestic Labels Twenty Five, quadruple layer of foam tape to lift Fleur de Lis Square embellished with two Corner Flourishes.  Quadruple layer of foam tape to lift Bird Banner placed in center of square.  Frame embellished by loopy bow and embellished with flowers made from Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms (1 of each flower).  Embellish with pearls.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: Wordsworth
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Smooth – Natural White, Gold Poster Board (Hobby Lobby), K and Company
Ink: Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, Versafine – Onyx Black
AccessoriesSpellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis SquareSpellbinders Corner FlourishSpellbinders Bird Banner, Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, Spellbinders Classic Squares SMRecollections Pearls, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

I have been so busy at home, and sadly my craft room is in shambles.  I hate that because I work best with a tidy area.  I feel a spring cleaning coming on – heaven only knows what I’ll find.  I hope all is well in your sweet world!

Great card yet again – love the bitty blossoms dies – they are a fave along with Elegant Labels 4 and some others! Enjoy the spring clean – a good tidy up and sort out just has to be done sometimes – it’s quite therapeutic I find if you get in the mood beforehand! The time defintely pays dividends later on – although sometimes I move things to ‘special places’ and then a few months later…. do you think I can remember where the ‘special place’ was? I can remember I put it in a ‘special place’ but then spend hours turning the house upside down till I find it – that really, really annnoys me!! This happened last week when I was trying to find the radio charger lead – I found it in a saucepan cupboard of all places – what was I thinking?!! The lead is now labelled and in the leads draw along with all the others – which are also labelled – as I would never know what charges what otherwise! Enjoy your tidy up!ReplyCancel

Happy spring cleaning! I thought spring had arrived early here in the UK as we have snowdrops, crocuses and the first blossom and daffodils out – and then after beautiful blue skies today, the clouds came over and we had a fierce hailstorm!

    Pretty, pretty card today Becca!
Today is my Sis’ birthday and ofcourse, I made her a pretty card. I started making Bity Blossoms flowers and explained in her card, these were one of my first attempts, but when I called her today, she made me feel “soooo good because she thought the bity blossoms were just lovely. Still have some practicing to do to get them as good as yours. But you have given some inspiration that I can do them. Had the dies for quite awhile before I made the attempt. Good luck with your spring cleaning – I am waiting to get quotes to enclose my screened in porch to make a craft room. Sooooo excited, I am about to jump out of my skin. At least I have sorted out all my “stuff” and have it in plastic containers and labeled so I am calling 2014 my year of organization.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Home Bakery Labels and Vintage Tags
Hi there friends, I’m back for Day 5 of the JustRite Papercraft February releases and today my project centers around a very, very serious subject.  As a matter of fact when I sat down to write this post I wasn’t quite sure how to approach it.  I mean, when you see the card doesn’t one word sum it all up?  I’d say it does.  As a matter of fact, after a hard day, I’ve been known to use this word as an exclamation.  Yes, it’s true :-)  So no occasion necessary to send this card but once the recipient ‘gets it’, they’ll understand – just sayin’  The stamp set is Home Bakery Labels and  I alternated chocolate and cream layers with JustRite Vintage Tag Dies and Spellbinders Ornate Squares.

WRBF-4137-2014

Lol, the take ‘1’ by mouth is a hard instruction to follow.  When it comes to chocolate, who can eat just one?

This card says it all, with tongue in cheek, for a lot of situations. I love it.
I agree with those gals who posted a desire to know how to make these bows and how to adhere them to the card without them slipping off. I am liking the informal look of them a lot. Do love the colors especially ’cause I’m a monochromatic loving gal!ReplyCancel

I am especially fond of the cream and brown combo so this is top shelf in my book. If you guys go back and read all the blogs, I will tell you that anybody, even me, can make Becca’s beautiful bow creations if they just buy a BECCA BOWMAKER. Best investment I have made in a very long time.

    Hi Becca,
have been neglecting you these last few days because of Sue Wilson’s dies and she’s posting multiple cards of her collections on her blog every day. So of course, I want them all and keep drooling over the dies and the cards she has made.
But just had a peek at your blog and must say, your chocolate card today is lovely – simple elegance.
And I love what you’ve done with the Rose Postcard – what unexpected colour combos. I get so fed up when people think that roses must always be red/pink or any combination of the two……….
Keep inspiring us all – I love elegant cards.
