Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Picture Perfect and Holiday Sentiments - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there friends!  Take my word for it, you should ‘never’ say never!  I’ve been seeing cards with sequins everywhere and I simply shook my head unable to understand what anyone would see in them and here we go, today it was the perfect embellishment for my card.  It just needed a little sumpin’ sumpin’ and that did it.  My card today is a kind of novelty card. I looked at the Spellbinders Picture Perfect die template, loving how it feels like you are looking into a scene!  I decided to make a peek-a-boo kind of open aperature card.  It was tons of fun and again I used the red, white and kraft that I love.  You might just notice that I didn’t use any stamp!  Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments comes right in handy for a quick sentiment.

Mind you this isn’t the kind of card that you’re gonna write a book in but it will be a nice card to show off in the Christmas Card line up on your entry table.Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Picture Perfect and Holiday Sentiments - www.amazingpapergrace.com
I framed the card with diagonal candy stripe paper using  Spellbinders Grand Labels One and finished off with a red bird cut from Spellbinders Birds on a Wire

Here’s how I made it – step by step:

  1. Start out with a 6″ square card base – line the inside of the card with design paper and add several red sequins.
  2. Cut/emboss Spellbinders Picture Perfect centered on the front of the card without the Labels One Shaped border.
  3. Cut/emboss Spellbinders Picture Perfect along with it’s companion Labels One Shaped die from kraft cardstock, adhere to center of card base.
  4. Cut/emboss Spellbinders Grand Labels One # 1 and #3, adhere to front of card with two layers of foam tape.
  5. Tie a bow, snip off tails, adhere to bottom left hand corner with a button and bells.
  6. Cut a strip 1″ x 3″ and cut notch out of end, adhere to card.
  7. Cut/emboss words from Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments, adhere to strip.
  8. Cut/emboss Spellbinders Birds of a Wire – adhere one bird to tree.

Hi Becca – this die didn’t really appeal to me when I first saw it but now it does! Love the sequins but not keen on the holes in them – think I would not be able to resist putting a tiny winy pearl over the hole to cover it up. I haven’t used sequins on cards before but now I will give it a go. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.ReplyCancel

Never thought to just use them like this, but will do so now. Thanks again for sharing your talent with us. I have remade several of your cards to give to my friends and they love them and can not quit talking about it, I have to remind them that I just put it together that you created the card design. Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Sweet Posies and Spellbinders Mystical Embrace and Divine Eloquence
Good morning blog friends!  Today is day four of JustRite Papercrafts October releases.  So, I’m back to pink and frilly for this card.  I used a new background stamp called Sweet Vines Background along with Sweet Posies for my sentiment.  For the background I used Victorian Velvet distress ink and pressed it into slightly damp watercolor paper.  The ink diffuses just a little bit for this soft watercolor look.
Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Sweet Posies and Spellbinders Mystical Embrace and Divine Eloquence

I paired two of the Spellbinders Mystical Embrace die cuts together and on the top one I scored along the prominent top horizontal line and glued both pieces together.  On the insides (both top and bottom) of the card I inserted a cream panel the same size as the prominent rectangle in the template.  Then I layered up my stamped background and added a panel cut using Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence and Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG at the same time.  My sentiment was stamped in the oval frame and I went around the oval with some cotton trim.

Fall Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Papercrafts Oak Leaves - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning blog friends!  Today is day three of JustRite Papercrafts October releases. Fall is in the air!  Yes, some of us have strolled out quite a few Christmas cards but I’m glad to be able to circle around and say a little hello to a new season.  I love the signals of fall, the russet tones of leaves, the cool crisp feel in the air, the cozy call of sweaters and scarves to fend off the chill, snuggling in with hot cocoa and a book. . . sigh!  My card today uses a new set called Oak Leaves.  I’ve cut it out using JustRite Oak Leaves SVG files, stamped in black and embossed with clear embossing powder then added subtle hints of color with watercolors.Fall Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Papercrafts Oak Leaves - www.amazingpapergrace.com
After embellishing with ombre sheer ribbon, burlap trim, lace and a pleated trim I added a little tag with a stamped sentiment using Spellbinders Back to Basics Tags.  Oh, and some bling :-)

Love the 2 tone bow and the pleated ribbon – wow!

Had a go at the watercolour background technique this morning – good news… I really, really enjoyed it – I did 6 A4 and 6 A5 pieces – bad news…… they dont look anything like yours on your 25/8/14 posting! I used distress reinkers and watercolour card but not too sure on how much ink to use and where to put it spacing wise on the mat (do you use A4 or A5 card?), how much water to put on the mat – over the ink drops or not? how much water to spritz on the card and whether to lightly touch the card to the mat or give it a good press – so many questions! Most of my efforts look like something from a kids playgroup! There’s a couple that look useable and I am hoping when I cut them up a bit and mat them on something, they might look better – ohh mmmmm… not concived though – thinking I could always run them thro an embossing folder as a last resort – any other salvage ideas before they go in the bin?ReplyCancel

My gracious…I didn’t think you could top that Christmas card earlier in the week with the richness of color, but by gum, you’ve done it again. This is so very beautiful, and I’m loving that ombre ribbon. Ditto the pleated ribbon. I rechecked – didn’t see the brand name of the ribbon, but guessing it might be May Arts ribbon? Also would appreciate if you have time to source that gorgeous burlap. Really wonderful rich fall colors, lovely design. Super card. TFS & Happy Autumn. Blessings.ReplyCancel

Good evening Becca, funny how before i even noticed the title i thought this was a beautiful thanks giving card although we have harvest festival which is the same thing where we give in fruit, veg, and cans, packets whatever we have into the church and they get distributed to the elderly in the parish. Anyway back to your beautiful card and it’s gorgeous colours, so right for the autumn(fall) and reminds me off all the beautiful trees and their various colours that the leaves go before falling to the ground. Thank you for bringing a little into our crafting world,
    Love and crafty hugs
