Sympathy Card Making Idea by Becca Feeken using JustRite Baroque Frame Background and Spellbinders Decorative Labels Thirty Four
Today I want to share some news about an important date that’s coming but first a sympathy card to add to your portfolio.  I always say easy and truly this card was less than an hour from concept to finish.  That means, when you go to make it, it will be lickety split.  This puts me a card ahead in my stash – a sad occasion to be ready for but I have to admit that sometimes the weight of the occasion puts a damper on my creativity hence the inspiration to work ahead.  The simplicity of this card centers around this gorgeous flower from the $1.00 bin at Michaels this week.  The flower is huge so I divided it in half by pulling out the center to use later — that left me this large center which is coincidentally large enough to nestle a sentiment.  For the card background I’m using JustRite Papercraft Baroque Frame Background and small stackable sentiments from Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven.
WRBF-4184-2014
To highlight the gold embossing on the background and make the flower pop,  I used Spellbinder Luscious Labels One cut with gold foil.  The inside of the flower was large enough to cradle Spellbinders Decorative Labels Thirty Four and my sentiment stamped on Spellbinders Labels Thirty Four.  I finished off with a double bow and a skinny loopy bow on top.   Hint:  I used triple layers of foam tape to raise the sentiment up level with the petals of the flower.  Whew, that’s it!

An Important Date is Coming!!

You will be thrilled to know… that all the new die templates by Spellbinders are getting ready to ship!!  I know, right?!!  Well, that’s *definitely* cause for a celebration so please promise me you’ll be here on Monday, March 31st, and if you peek you’ll see my post up before 12:00am….  Now that your dies are being put in the mail, I want you to be ready for your next project.  That means I’ll have a large step-by-step tutorial for you to break those new dies in.  It’s an easy project similar to those you all always request but the wonderful thing is – it will show you yet another way to use those new dies!!   It will be a week of inspiration so clear your desk :-)  What celebration would be complete without a contest?  Yep!  Bring it!!  You can win dies, so get yourself over here on March 31st!!

Trouble is my mind then shoots off at a tangent thinking of all sorts other ways to use that flower with maybe a different message . Maybe to decorate a gift bag?

Good News about the spellbinders being shipped. I have quite a few on preorder and can’t wait to get them.

I opened this while having lunch so didn’t get to respond right away. It seems I am always making sympathy cards. My friend says “soon there will be no one left.” LOL I do have a standard card which I use as my “go to” which I made up about 8 the other night so funny you should have a sympathy card today.
This is absolutely beautiful! The flower set the theme and the gold adds so much.
I am waiting with baited breath for my arrival of the many pre-ordered items from the Jan. new products. It is such anticipation – I guess you must get them from Spellbinders as soon as they come out in order to spark our interest with your delightful creativity. You never cease to “amaze” me. No wonder your blog is named Amazing Paper Grace!
Love you girl and anxious for Monday, have a GREAT weekend.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design Garden Delights and Spellbinders Antique Corner and Wonderful Locket
Greetings friends!  If I said the word “Spring” would you that help you understand where my mind has been?  Yes, you are probably there too, so ready for spring!!  Today I’m sharing a pastel card (big surprise there) that matches the kind of mood I’m in.  My post is short today, but this card is so very simple – no need for me to drone on.  The top layer is made using Spellbinders Classic Oval LG and the layer below that – delicate and pink is made using Spellbinders Wonderful Locket.  The final layer in all its frilly glory is four cuts of Spellbinders Antique Corner arranged so that the point of all four corners meets in the middle.  That’s it!!

WRBF-4181-2014

I’m using a sentiment from Quietfire Design from the Garden Delights set . . . so sweet!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  After a little over a week off (taking care of things at home), I’ll have some more cards to show this week!

Card Making Idea by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design and Spellbinders Roman Romance with A2 Curved Borders Two
Hi there friends!  I’m sure you can tell, but lately I’ve been inspired by texture and embossing.  Today I’m sharing a shaped card (shaped using one of my favorite border dies) embellished using an embossing folder.  If you don’t recognize it, I embossed the embossing folder twice and assembled them so that the design was mirrored.  This time around I wanted a symmetical design and it’s easy enough to do.  I found  a wonderful Quietfire Design sentiment called To Create Is To Touch that spans the bottom of the card beautifully :-)WRBF-4174-2014
I’m using Spellbinders Roman Romance 3D M-Bossabilities for the texture along with Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders Two.  I cut it twice and seamed it in the middle where it would be covered by ribbon.  I applied the borders separately adhering them with Ranger Crystal Accents.  I made my top border hinged just like I do with other dies when making a filigree card base.  My front has two layers . . . I put a layer behind the embossing/bordered layer so that my card would be nice and neat on the inside and the ribbon raw edges would be hidden – this is the layer I stamped my sentiment on.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: Quietfire Design – To Create Is To Touch
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Solar White 80 lb
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and Clear Embossing Powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders Roman Romance M-BossabilitiesSpellbinders A2 Curved Borders Two, The Paper Studio Pearls,  May Arts Silk Ribbon, Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

Sending blessings your way on this wonderful day!
