Waltzingmouse Stamps - Country Labels Four - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning blog friends.  We’re back with another peek at one of the new Waltzingmouse Stamps sets – this one is called Country Labels Four.  I’m absolutely intrigued with this set for its charm and for it’s simplicity.  In my small tiny house when we have guests, we have a couple of rituals we follow.  They have a basket of toiletries and towels waiting in their room and then in the dining room we have a chalkboard plate on an easel and we write “Welcome” and the guests names.  It’s a tiny touch and and it’s so out of place because it sounds like something you’d find at a huge lodge or a bed and breakfast and I think we do it to poke fun of our little abode.  I can’t tell how many times our guests gush over those little touches.  All that to say that I think I’ve found something to add to the ritual – a card to put at their place on the table……  This has to be one of the most simplest I’ve done this year.  It has to be an easy, quick do if it is to get done when guests are expected . . .   Me thinks I have this one down to 10-15 minutes ;-)
WRBF-3839-2013
For this card I’ve simply used a border punch around the edge and it leaves a solid panel in the center.  On top of that I layered Spellbinders® Ornate Squares.  If you’re curious about how to punch the  panel, I have a tutorial on Border Filled Frames and it will explain how and the size of paper needed.  If you’re curious about how to make the filigree on both the front side and the backside of an oversized card base, then check out my tutorial on Hinged Filigree Cards – except this uses a punch instead of a die template.
Waltzingmouse Stamps - Country Labels Four - www.amazingpapergrace.com (inside)
So to recap the layers I used from the bottom up, I started with a 4″ x 6-1/2″ card base, foam tape (optional), black matting layer 2″ x 4-3/8″, brown matting layer 1-7/8″ x 4-1/4″, foam tape (optional), Ornate Squares die cut, foam tape (optional), brown layer 1-5/8″ x 1-5/8″.  The same layers are done on the inside of the card.  Attach ribbon and sentiment on the appropriate layer.

Morning Becca, I’m loving your filigree card, and what a brilliant idea too !! I must pop over to see how you did the punched edges, leaving the filled in middle. I have lots of punches that I haven’t used for ages, it will be good to get them out again. Have a lovely day.

Waltzingmouse Stamps - USA 1776 - www.amazingpapergrace.com
A veterans daughter, a veterans sister, a veterans wife . . . this is my legacy and the brave men who allowed me that legacy, I celebrate and remember today.   I honor their memory with such pride and thankfulness.  In addition, I honor the memory of all the fallen who gave their lives so that we might have freedom and I honor all those who have served.  They are your brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and husbands too – my heartfelt gratitude to them all.  I guess it was befitting that the release includes a patriotic set of stamps that I could use to reflect those feelings – honestly I have very few of those types of stamps and it felt wonderful to put these to a good use.

your card makes me want to go to a parade. I love your paper choice. I chose red and white geraniums to take to the cemetery this year. Why didn’t I put some blue in there with them?
RE: this contest I would like to win, (can’t figure out how to get my comment in the right place) I also need to learn more about good art design. you can always tell when a professional has made the card,. I hope that rubs off a little from all of the hours I spend on the sites of artists like you, Becca.ReplyCancel

Good morning sweet blog friends!  This is my second post of the day, if you want to check out the first, you can get there by this link ——–> HERE or you can scroll down.  Also don’t forget, I’m offering some  pretty cool blog candy that’s up for grabs until Wednesday, May 29th.  Feeling lucky?  Click ———>HERE to get to the post where you need to leave a comment or simply scroll back to my post of May 24th.  A little coloring, a little smudging, a little hand died ribbon and some vintage paper came together for a birthday card from a new JustRite Papercrafts set called Irises Vintage Labels Four.   The card features a custom die template called Vintage Labels Four and pairs it up with some frilly accent dies in Spellbinders® Timeless Rectangles and Spellbinders® Vintage Lace Motifs as well as the pennant from JustRite Vintage Label and Banner Dies.
WRBF-3833-2013
So to recap the layers I used from the bottom up, I started with a 5-1/2″ x 7″ card base, foam tape (optional), brown matting layer 5″ x 6-5/8″, foam tape (optional), purple matting layer 4-5/8″ x 6-3/8″, design paper layer 4-1/2″ x 6-1/4″, foam tape (optional), Vintage Labels Four in purple (cut in fourths and spread to create matting layer), Vintage Lace Motif accent on four round ends, Vintage Labels Four in design paper, pennant with sentiment, foam tape (optional), Timeless Rectangles, Vintage Labels Four.  Attach ribbons and sentiment on appropriate layer.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – Irises Vintage Labels Four
Craft Paper: TPC, ByDigital – Antique Paper 1
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Clear Embossing Powder
Accessories:   JustRite Vintage Labels Four, JustRite Vintage Label and Banner Dies, Spellbinders® Timeless Rectangles and Spellbinders® Vintage Lace Motifs, Seam Binding, Corsage Pins, Recollections Pearls, Copic Markers, Vintage Text Ribbon – Graphic 45,  Becca’s Bow Maker Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

  • Febe G.May 26, 2013 - 9:37 am

Of course the complete card is awesome, but when I break it down, wow!
You’re an inspiration to many, just look at how you manage to work two different types of ribbon into the card. One, a regular ribbon, the other a lace! Very cool.

Next, I love how you brighten up your bows by adding something new and different to them. You’ve inspired me to use thin wire to wrap my centers tight, so that I can add fancy brads to my ribbon centers. Thank you for sharing and teaching as you do.

You have a heart of gold!ReplyCancel

Yummmm! Just viewed your “purple” card and I’m going to have to try to make something similar today ’cause I love it and I seldom use purple. As to what I would like to know more about using… I bought a good sized roll of masking paper at a recent paper craft show and watched the demo several times to get the technique firmly in my mind. I found the roll the other day and wondered, “What is this?” for a few days before remembering anything about it, I remembered it was masking tape but can’t remember the technique! It had to have been pretty cool or I would never have bought it… I have to be very careful at those shows about what I buy. Out of the 10 or so that I wanted, I had to narrow it down to 4 or 5 (your bow maker was one of them… I needed that CD ’cause I always forget how to use the Bow Maker and had no tutorials to refer to anymore!). Guess I’ll go to YouTube today and see what I can find out. Ooops, almost forgot… thanks for the chance to win some goodies!!ReplyCancel
