Sweet blog friends, so sorry for my absence. Like most, I go through brief bouts of being overwhelmed and pushing to create and that’s when I know it’s time to take a couple of days off to rejuvenate. It feels empty to make something just for the sake of making it – I love to enjoy the process and I really do craft from the heart. This is from my heart. I sat down yesterday with the Fine Feathers stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps that I added to my collection after last months release – truth be known, I had to have it. Claire made sure it found it’s way into my hands – thank you Claire!!! It’s been a week of introspection and this is a beautiful reminder, one I sorely needed. It was my treat to sit down and create with such a beautiful thought.

I pulled a couple of dies together to layer and the card base is made as I’ve shown with the Filigree Hinged Card Tutorial using Spellbinders Scalloped Borders Two. It was made that way so that the two borders used could be arranged on a flat front sheet and then joined to the back – I find it easiest that way. I followed with Spellbinders Opulent Ovals, Spellbinders Labels Thirty Two and Spellbinders Captivating Squares. The cut out from the borders made such an intriguing window that I lined the inside with pink.
Here’s your Step-By-Step Recap, from the bottom up, just in case you’d like to make one too. Start out with a card base cut to 5-3/4″ wide x 6″ tall. Cut with Scalloped Borders Two before assembling, foam tape, die cut layer from white using Opulent Ovals, foam tape, die cut layer from white using Labels Thirty Two, foam tape, die cut layer from white using Captivating Squares.

I’m working on a tutorial friends. I think this week the jet lag got the best of me among many other things. I’ll be back in the saddle soon as I have lots of goodies to play with :-)

Good morning friends, I hope you had a stellar weekend!! Last week was busy with new releases from JustRite and today I’m sharing another one that I wasn’t able to work in. I reached for a Spellbinders die that I had not used before, and paired it with Grand Sentiments. This time around I used Spellbinders Enchanted Labels Twenty Eight and used it as a frame tucking my panels up into each corner. On the next layer I used Spellbinders Wrought Iron by cutting two and using them as a background. For the sentiment I used Vintage Labels Four which is a Spellbinders Custom for JustRite Die.

I loved the inner shape of the stamped frame so I took a second to fussy cut the upper layer and popped it up for dimension.
Here’s a Step-by-Step Recap of the Layers from the bottom up: Pink cardbase 7-1/4″ x 5-3/8″, foam tape, die cut layer using Enchanted Labels Eight, pink layer 6-1/4″ x 4-1/8″, foam tape, white matting layer 5-1/2″ x 3-5/8″, pink layer 5-3/8″ x 3-1/2″, die cut layer using two Wrought Iron die cuts, foam tape, die cut layer using Vintage Labels Four, foam tape, layer using hand cut border on sentiment. Add Ribbon, Flowers and Pearls.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Hi there blog friends, yes this picture will need a little bit of explaining :-) By the way, a time or two today you might see a maintenance sign on my blog, no worries, it will only be up a short bit at a time, so please try back. Today I’m sharing a quick story that has been a little bit of a private joke in my family. My grown kids say it is a sign and I chuckle as it comes coincidentally close to the release of the stamp set I showed yesterday called Looking for a Sign. Not long ago I was working on my laptop which is shoved back up against my library of dies in clear cases, you know — within arms reach. Several of the cases fell out and hit the laptop. After the mini avalanche I discovered one of my keys was missing. I looked around my clean craft area and no sight of the missing key — not high — nor low. I tore up that end of the room looking for the key to no avail. The key was the Ctrl key and I wondered how I would operate without it. It drove me crazy because you know you use the control key for just about everything but over time, I let it go.
It became the joke du jour at home – how ‘I lost control’, the kids would call and ask me if ‘I ever regained control’ and mused, perhaps ‘I didn’t need to have so much control’ :-) Ha-ha…. For a key to vanish the way it did, I wondered if it was indeed a sign, lol.
Many months later I was working on a project and voila, the control key was found, not buried or underneath something but just as if I had been overlooking it on things I touched every day. I honestly said a little prayer and thanked the Lord for letting me think about that word in a positive way. But alas when I went to fix it, the key didn’t pop right back on and resume where it left off – it appears something underneath was broken in the impact so for another month or so the key sat on the edge of my laptop, reminding me how it used to work.
Finally I went out on the internet and found out that you can buy replacement keys. This week is the first week I’ve had the whole control key situation ‘under control’. Thankfully during this little humorous situation, I was able to stop for a moment to think about things and put them into perspective. Control has been a theme threaded through my life many of these last months. After introspection, I hope I’ve become a better steward of that word. Just sharing…

This is another beautiful card, and so imaginative with how you use the die cuts! Thanks for sharing, and creating from the heart! It shows.

Hi Becca,
You’ve made another beautiful card :o)
I too have been struggling, for a few months now.
This verse was so good to read today – thank you!
Big Hugs, Candy
I can’t help seeing a mustache instead of wings : )
Lovely! The border “window” is a great idea!! It looks so pretty with the other lacy dies. And the pink is just so subtle and fresh. Thanks, Becca!!
Your work is absolutely gorgeous–every one deserves to be in a frame, on the wall!!!
I have purchased two of the elaborate, lacy, Spellbinders dies recently and haven’t been able to use them–what is the secret to getting all the little throw away pieces out without ripping the rest of the paper??? someone said to use waxed paper–I assume you put it on top of the die, then your c.s.. I have a Big Shot and have had to add a piece of c.s. to get them to work at all. the latest one I have tried is the Majestic Elements.
thanks much, Jo Anne
Hi Becca
Absolutely had to have that border when it came out. Just truly Georgous!!!!! Guess we all go thru those periods of less creativy.

Love it and yes, I too need to be inspired to do my cards or the scrapbook pages. This is very pretty, and I have to say I love the feather, and I DO NOT FEATHERS, they make this card work.
Becca, thanks for sharing. AMAZING PAPER GRACE!
Gorgeous card, I love all the intricate cuts ^& layering! What ate the shinny pieces in the middle of the bow?
Beautiful card as usual! I really love the pink accents.
I love the book of Psalms and I love your new card. It’s so inspirational. Thank you!
Just beautiful….
Patiently waiting for your tutu ribbon tutorial!!!
Another beautiful card dear Becca, you have such a knack for putting all the dies together to create such a work of art. I kinda had a feeling you were a little under the weather, so to speak, hope you are up and running on full octane now and bestowing us with your beautiful work.
Beautiful card, this is my favorite verse. shared it at church this morning in fact! I too need this set. Thanks for another lovely card. Blessings, Lisa
Hi Becca,
You’ve created another absolutely beautiful card – well worth waiting for. I do exactly what you do when my mojo leaves me. A couple of days in the garden refresh me every time, even heavy work.
I cannot wait for two of your dies to arrive – Lacey Tiers and Filigree Corners. They are gorgeous and I’m sure I won’t have any problems creating beautiful cards with them.
Thank you for all the inspiration you give us .
Best wishes, Rose
Oh Becca…this Scripture has MUCH meaning to me!!! Jesus gave it to me before I was diagnosed with cancer and continued to speak to me through Psalm 91 during some difficult days… and now, going through some other difficult circumstances, I need it more than ever!
Thank you for this wonderful post and beautiful card ?
I KNOW EXACTLY what you mean Becca! I don’t do well either when I’m overwhelmed or making something just to make something! THIS CARD is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE will be VERY BLESSED to receive this!
Beautiful, as always! I am always amazed at your talent!
Hi Becca,
One word comes to mind…..awesome! I love the Spellbinders layering.
Beautiful Becca .Melanie UK
Love the borders. There’s a celebrity in the UK who lost her daughter to cancer a few years back – and she says finding a white feather is calling card from her angel, or words to that effect I think – what a lovely thought. This card reminded me of that.
Beautiful. I love the way you used the brackets. You do give inspiration to put our tools to good use.
Hi Becca, I think you read my mind there, I tend to craft from the hear too
and feels kind of empty and overwhelmed when I cant find what I need to make certain projects and clearly sure that I had them hidden amongst my mountain of crafting stash! LOL
The whole card stunning, love the sentiment too!
Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!
Hugs

Becca I don’t know how you manage to come up with one beautiful card after another! I’m totally in awe! I felt I HAD to have some of the Spellbinders borders that you use but some how my cards never come out as beautiful as yours! I look forward to your emails so much just to get another great idea! Thanks for all you do for our creative minds!
Gorgeous card! Love that you are so thoughtful to share the exact directions to make this!
Its absolutely gorgeous creation !

Becca, not only is this card beautiful, it speaks to the soul. It is inspiring and uplifting! Thank you. Blessings to you!
Beautiful as always!
Becca, I hear you talking! I’m in that place right now. Sometimes it’s good to be reminded that it’s OK to take a breather. It obviously did you a world of good because this card is spectacular. I love the sentiment, and that bow is nothing short of divine. All the lovely layers of pink and white are so inviting….I can tell it came from your heart!
Hi Becca
Another stunning card, just BEAUTIFUL like everything about it.
Love Marion x
I totally agree with creating from the heart. I’ve been away from home with my Mother since my wonderful Father passed away on July 29, 2013. This has been the most difficult time of my life so finding my creative spirit is hard. The only thing I’ve been able to do is make roses for future projects. I know my desire to create will return and your card is inspirational. The sentiment really speaks to my heart and is a reminder I needed today. If you aren’t aware of it, I hope my post will let you know how your creativity brings comfort to others. Thank you for this post today Becca
LOVE the inset design you created with the Scalloped Borders Two!! Great affect!!!!!!
Glad to hear that you were feeling better and ready to create such a stunning and beautiful card!
