WRBF-3804-2012
Good morning blog friends, I have a couple of projects to share today with my new sets from JustRite Papercrafts.  If you missed my post last week I have two new sets Filigree Journal Covers and Mix and Match Sentiments.  This project is tagged as quick and easy on my calendar for frugal Christmas gifts and (snicker) I have one down for me.  I have gobs of journals sitting around, but none of them match and for the life of me I can never remember which one I use for what.  So, I made a matched set of journals using Filigree Journal Covers – of course the Filigree frame works well on cards too.  Coincidentally, it matches the other filigree stamps I designed earlier.  The Vintage Alphabet Soup Background works out well as a background on the journal covers because it’s easy to line up the non-overlapping background for a continuous pattern.  These will be easy to find in a crafting frenzy – one is titled Stamp Journal, Technique Journal, Quote Journal and Ink Journal.

WRBF-3803-2012
I purchased four economical composition notebooks from Walmart for $1.50 each and covered them with the stamped paper on the front, back and solid paper on the spine.  For the holder, I recycled a cereal box and covered the sides with paper and used stamped panels for the short sides of the box.  The Filigree Frame is stamped on a square cut using Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LG and mounted on a panel cut using Spellbinders™ 5×7 Matting Basics A and the bottom shaped using Spellbinders™ A2 Bracket Borders One.  The books are roughly 7.5″ x 9.5″

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – Filigree Journal Cover, Vintage Alphabet Soup Background
Craft Paper: My Minds Eye – Lost and Found, TPC Black, Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb Smooth
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:   Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LGSpellbinders™ 5×7 Matting Basics A,  Spellbinders™ A2 Bracket Borders One, Cream Seam Binding,  Becca’s Bow MakerGrand Calibur Die Cut Machine

WRBF-3809-2013
My next card is very simple :-)  Starting with a pink card base I layered the Vintage Alphabet Soup Background stamped onto pink cardstock onto a black panel.  With ribbons in place, I cut two of the oval frame motifs from Spellbinders™ Jewel Framed Sentiments and cut each of the motifs in half so that I could make a symmetrical horizontal frame.  On top of the frame I layered one of the sweet new Die D-Lites™ called Ornamental Tags Three.   To break up some of the roundness and pull the pop of black down into the card I picked out a small embellishment piece from Spellbinders™ Vintage Lace Motifs.
WRBF-3810-2013

I pulled two phrases from  Mix and Match Sentiments for a small two line sentiment.  The card size is 5″ x 6.5″

WRBF-3811-2013
My last card combines the Filigree Journal Covers with some Mix and Match Sentiments.  I used Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LG to cut the panel I stamped the frame on then stamped the sentiment on the smallest motif from Spellbinders™ Timeless Rectangles.

WRBF-3812-2013
The fluffy white flowers are made using Spellbinders™ Rose Creations and the gift wrap type of tissue paper.  The card is 6″ x 6″.

WOUW I just love this bookset and the first card especially. I admit, the second card is a bit too busy for me, but that´s the great thing about us all being different, that we all likes different things, and it´s really rare, you make anything, I don´t just love, which I also absolutely do with the first two mentioned here. You are such a talented girl, that I can get all jealous some times and wish I had just a bit of that great talent too LOL.
Have a wonderful week-end hun and lots of joy and fun.ReplyCancel

I can’t wait to get your new stamps Becca. I have all your others so far and I NEED the new ones. You are just so talented. Now if I could get my stamp room table cleaned up I could get stamping:) I have made the room a mess trying to organize my ribbon so I can see what I have-I don’t have much space. (I imagine yours will be all neatly arranged by color)

I really like the Journal Sets -I have so many pieces of paper & things jotted in different books about cards, etc. that this makes a great project to get at.
I get great designs from the way the lights in restaurants shine on wall, sun comes thru the stained glass windows at church…& on & on. Now I will devote journals to this type of thing & put these ideas where I can find them again…you are just so organized and still manage to get cards & projects done. PLUS design great stamps:)
As usual your cards are just the BEST..what more can a person say
God Bless & Happy Mother’s DayReplyCancel

Great idea! I will certainly consider giving journals like these as gifts! Also loved your idea of recycling a cereal box!

On another note,I have purchased your Mix and Match Sentiments, Just the Right Words, Large Fancy Sentiments and All in the Family Large Sentiments and love the flexibility of these stamps. I did notice however that you have not included the first person plural words WE and US. Sometimes I want to send a card from both my husband and myself. I am reminded of this now when I am looking for just the right words to congratulate our grandson for graduating from college. Just a suggestion for your next collection!ReplyCancel

Some great new ideas for use of your stamps that I have in my stash!! Every project is fab… I love the set of journals (and plan to make a set), the soft femininity of the first card (which I consider your hallmark) and the unusual color combination of the last card (I never consider using those dark florals but won’t be making that mistake again!). Little Girl Tutu Card - www.amazingpapergrace.com (WRBF-3815-2013)

There’s really a good reason that my card has a tu-tu today.  Let me ‘splain :-)  I’ve had it on my calendar to see my best friends sweet little girl in her acting debut in a local play, so last night I witnessed the wonder of Peter Pan.  Smitten, yes . . . enthralled, yes . . . enchanted, oh yes!  Theatre is one of my loves and it was a delightful evening.   Sweet friends, inspiration comes from the most unlikely of places.  A sweet little Tinkerbell floated out in this little tulle tutu and I melted.  So much so that I thought no matter what it looked like, my card would have one.  Shhhhh…..don’t tell, this is the thank you card I’m sending to my sweet little friend for inviting me.  All in all I’m sure that I had much more fun than she did.  Is there a little girl (or big girl) in your world that’s ready for a tutu card?  Hang in there and let me tell you how easy this comes together.  I have quite a few ideas for this that I’ll be showing in the next couple of weeks.

WRBF-3816-2013

I started with a card base 5″ x 7″ and layered on a panel of pink cardstock.  From a panel of cream paper I cut both ends using Spellbinders™ A2 Bracket Borders One and embellished the cross points with pearls – 38 small ones and 2 big ones.  On top of that panel I layered a panel using Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ Garden Lattice (swoon, first time I’ve used this one and I sure don’t know why).  The pattern on this folder is sparse so I embellished with 24 little pink crystals.  Before securing the panel, I tucked my tutu trim around the back and finished it off with a pearl embellishment.   On striped paper I stamped Thanks and cut it out using Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags.  For the inside of the card I reached into my Quietfire Design stash and pulled out a sentiment perfect for the occasion – If I Had a Star.  Oh goodness, she was a star.  I hope she likes it!!

WRBF-3817-2013

So folks, if you’re intrigued by the tu-tu and want more instructions on how to make it, let me know and I’ll see if I can work up a tutorial :-)

    Becca,

Your timing is perfect. Just last night, I attended the ballet performance of my great niece who performed to the story of Peter Pan. What an odd coincidence! She, too, did a beautiful job and I was thinking about a card to send to her of how proud I was. Today, I look at this blog post, and now you have steered me in the right direction. I wish I owned 1/2 the Spellbinder dies you have, but alas, I will work with what I have. I admire your work so very much.

You are a blessing! Thank you.

WRBF-3806-2013
Okay, I have to gush a little bit – I have two new stamp designs that are coming to JustRite Papercrafts this month, and I can give you a little peek now :-)  It’s been a little while for me since I’ve had new stamps and with these I continued in the style of my other stamps so that if you are a collector, there’s a little bit of matching going on.  Quite a few people wrote to me that they wanted another set like Just The Right Words, so now you’ll haveMix and Match Sentiments.  It’s a set that’s designed to fit in core of your stash.  You should be able to go to it and stamp out a heartfelt sentiment for family and friends.  The second set is a frame designed to use with journal covers, but what the heck – go ahead and use it with Mix and Match Sentiments or just the right words, if you want to.   You’ll notice that Filigree Journal Covers matches the flourished elements of my earlier released stamps sets :-)  The team at JustRite will be sharing new inspiration from all the new sets beginning May 5th –  May 10th;  I’ll be showing you more ways to use my new sets on May 10th.

WRBF-3807-2013

Let me tell you a little bit more about Mix and Match Sentiments.  It’s what I call a stackable sentiment.  If you pick something from the top of the set in script then follow with one of the sentiments in small caps – they will stack on your clear stamp mount nicely.  Follow up then with one of the “so” words and another line in small caps.  Then finish up with one of the “your” words.    Or better yet, do your own thing, your sentiment can be short and sweet or stacked tall :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite PapercraftsMix and Match Sentiments
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb Smooth
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders™ A2 Filigree Delight, Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals, Spellbinders™ Bitty Blossoms, Spellbinders™ Foliage, Seam Binding, Recollections Pearls style=”font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;”>, Becca’s Bow Maker Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

Just a note – JustRite is having a Spring Fling Sale that lasts until May 12th.  In the meantime, thanks so much for stopping by today.  The Heat Pump installers are here today, so I’m a happy camper and tomorrow I’ll be cool as a cucumber.  Hope all is well in your world too!!

    Becca,
I too love “all” your cards. They’re beautiful beyond words. Creating cards that capture beauty and serenity is something I enjoy, and your cards provide wonderful inspiration and ideas for doing just that. I do have a question though. In the creation of this beautiful card, did you stamp your sentiment on the oval area of the A2 Filigree Delight panel, and cut out the center of the Floral Ovals with a Classic Oval to achieve that beautiful frame?

Your new sentiment stamp set is lovely. And I especially like this card because I have a sister that lives in Phoenix. Unfortunately we have spent many years apart, even when we were young. She doesn’t call me by my given name – she just calls me “sister”. Isn’t that the sweetest!? I love and miss her beyond words. She would love a card like this. Hmm, I think I need to get busy.

Thanks for the beauty today, Becca.
    Blessings,
    Susie ~ReplyCancel
