Sweet friends, I promise that I’m going to set aside this die after this card goes out. After a week of using Spellbinders Gate Element, I can’t tell you how many times I cut that one die. When I was finished with the series, I probably had 30 diecuts left over. It just so happens that after going to CHA, I have a number of Thank You cards to get into the mail. I know myself too well and if I hold out and make unique cards, it will take me forever. If I go ahead and make similar cards, I can get it done pretty quickly. With the leftover diecuts from this week I started playing around and came up with this design that is very similar to the Victorian Fans I’ve made over the years and the latest I made HERE and the folded flower I made back in 2010, HERE. They were my inspiration for a simple two diecut thank you card using eight of the die cut leftovers. Each die cut was folded in the center the each side folded to the center again – essentially into quarters. I stapled the end of each piece then hot glued them to a small circle in the center. For the tag I used Spellbinders Back to Basic Tags.

The card measures 5″ x 7″ and is being sent in the clear box so I won’t have to worry about the filigree getting crushed. I have a several more to make, and to keep things easy, they will all be a variation of this design. No worries about the clear box, HERE is the last card I sent that way and it arrived in pristine condition!

Thanks for your never ending encouragement this week. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting crafty and hope that if you found anything useful in my work this week, that you’ll put it to good use. Sending you blessings, as always!

Question Parking Lot:
Many of you asked where I get my clear boxes. The answer is I have a large steel rule die that cuts those boxes and I buy the acetate in bulk – I have had it for years and years and made that purchase because my bulk use of the boxes made it make sense. The clear plastic I’m using is quite heavy .02″ in thickness. Here are two options that are much more cost effective than the acetate I’ve been using:
Amazon.com – minimum quantity is 10 – these are clear top only but will give the same result
Clearbags.com – minimum quantity is 25 – these all clear
I’ve heard people use the latter for sending through USPS with no problem, but in all honestly I’ve not used this brand myself. Hold on tight though, I’ll message clearbags and ask for a sample and will let you know the result. I’ve seen their brand on many of the Papercrafting/Stamping Online stores.

Good morning sweet friends! Today is the final day of the series One Box, Three Occasions; the occasion I chose to highlight today is a Birthday. Well, not just a birthday, a birthday for a little, little girl. I had to do it! So often I pull something from my stash for my little friends but today I decided I would make a custom box (not what it appears to be) that is definitely for a wee one and designed to hopefully bring a smile. At first glance todays samples seem much like yesterdays – I created a soft pink card using Spellbinders Antique Corner (cut four times) and built up with Spellbinders Labels Thirty Nine followed by Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance and finally JustRite Vintage Labels Seven. A tad on the elegant side but this card was 30 minutes from start to finish and is easy, classic layers. The finished card size is 5-1/2″ square. If you are intrigued as I am with boxes and want to know how to make the original box – instructions can be found on this post: https://www.amazingpapergrace.com/one-box-three-occasions-day-1/

I decided to go easy on the embellishments; I know I wouldn’t have any problem mailing this out! The silk bow and ribbon roses compress quite a bit to a flat profile although I never have a problem with the larger bows and flowers I use (creative packing :-)).

If you look closely, my box looks different. It is :-) It’s made from mat board and it has a single thickness lid that I fashioned by scoring. The box is 2-1/4″ square and 5″ tall. Today I used Spellbinders Gate Elementt as a border and attached it directly to the box instead of the lid.
Then the magic happens when the lid comes off, yikes – an explosion box with a little ballerina inside :-) The ballerina is Spellbinders Tiny Dancers

Spellbinders Labels Twenty Seven works “perfectly” as the four way hinge on the inside bottom to make the explosion box. I simply scored Labels Twenty Seven on each of four sides, applied glue above the score line and attached to four matboard panels which were covered on front and back with design paper. When I lift all of the four panels, their hinge brings them vertically into a box that can be capped with a simple top. I decorated by gluing the gate element on the front and wrapping it around to the inside. If you are feeling adventurous and want to try an explosion box, there’s an excellent resource HERE. I cut the 2 tiny dancers from a cereal box weight chipboard because I wanted a sturdy base. Then I cut again from cardstock and glued over the chipboard. I added lace as the skirt, ribbon as a top and a band of gold for a crown then glued the two sets of girls back to back so they look good from every angle. Lastly I used Spellbinders Ribbon Banners to add Happy Birthday to the base of the box.

I’ve enjoyed each remake of the filigree box :-) I did the series because I couldn’t choose just one and I thought the options were interesting. One more card coming with the Gate Element die and then back up on the shelf it goes – it kept me occupied this week and I hope it gives you some ideas of what you can do with it!

Question Parking Lot:
Elaine Johnson on comment #3 asked me when the Tiny Dancer dies would be available. They look to be available right now in the Spellbinders store – I clicked on them and they were placed in my cart :-). I think what was not available were measurements because these two figures would be difficult to measure or the measurement has not been loaded yet.

You should make a stamp out of that beautiful saying!
I love that sentiment Becca, just beautiful, as is your card. Also love the the inspiring words.
Love the card, especially love the post…and I’m thinking you should (nudge nudge nudge gentle shove) send that last saying to Suzanne at Quietfire – I see her calligraphy alllll over this one…NUDGE :)
I work from home, and during the day, my community here is the dog and the cat – who is usually off sleeping someplace. I know the power of words through the pixels – be assured yours come this way as well.
Blessings –
Joni
Love the sentiment! Will add it to my journal of sayings. Kind of reminds me of the words the maid in “The Help” said to her young charge. ??
I am loving this die! I guess frequently using it on the blog helps cement it in our minds, Lol! I can see where it would be a favorite die to use.

Hi Becca,
Things have been very hectic so I’ve ony just now got round to looking at your last three blogs…………….All of which have been absolutely gorgeous and inspiring.
And here’s a quote in a book that a friend gave me:
“I wish you the beauty of silence, the glory of sunlight, the mystery of darkness, the power of water, the quiet strength of the earth, the love tht lies at the very root of things”.
It is such a beautiful sentiment…………. uplifts me every time (as do all of the quotes in that book.
Hugs, Rose
Oh rats, two typos – hope you can forgive, but I’m sure it doesn’t detract from the quote.

A thankyou to you Becca also, for all your beautiful designs, and your positive attitude that inspires me
I am always inspired when I see you have a new post and today’s was one I really needed. My life situation has taken a turn for the worst and I was in despair but after looking at your beautiful design and reading your calendar quote I find myself in awe. That someone who has gone through so much and has shared so much and received so much still has the compassion and humility to be greatful in such an outward way. Your site name “Amazing Grace” takes on a whole new meaning for me today. May he continue to use you to inspire all who cross your path.
With much gratitude.

Gorgeous card Becca!
Your cards and boxes are amazing and you are such an inspiration. I visit your blog everyday and I am never disappointed!!!
I know just what you mean, Becca. Real or imagined, this electronic world provides us with so much support. I choose to see it as a real connection between hearts and minds that we are blessed to have at the touch of a few buttons. I never realized how many people were visiting my site until I checked the stats quite by accident one day. Only a small portion of them commented so I had no idea how many there were. It was a small joy to learn that. Hopefully, you see the numbers of us who visit consistently but only comment occasionally, too. Additionally, I have been following you for about 5 years and have seen every post; went all the way back to the very beginning to see what I had missed and then check out every new post. I still struggle to see things the way you do that makes your creations so fabulous. There is a rare vision for these things in your mind and it is a special creative gift that can only be partially duplicated with great effort by those who don’t have it. Create on, lovely lady.
Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. I can’t thank you enough for the encouraging words at the end of this post. They really lifted me up. You are such an inspiration.
