Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using A Gilded Life Crowned Medallion Bronze by Spellbinders - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning crafters!  I wanted to pop in today with one of the two last  gifts made for my recent guest.  Since we are slowly but surely approaching the season, I thought it only fitting that she have a Christmas Ornament from my house to hers.  It’s an ornament made by folding ribbon and I topped it with A Gilded Life Crowned Medallion Bronze by Spellbinders.  It’s simply glued on with Fabritac and then a cameo glued on top of the medallion – I used E6000 to secure it but was so tempted to use my trusty hot glue gun.

Since the medallion has a ring, it was easy to thread some silk ribbon through the hole for hanging.  I also put a petite bow on the crown for a totally feminine ornament.  The ornament is slightly larger than the palm of my hand and hopefully won’t get lost amid all the beauties on her tree.

I adore simple gifts that can be made in a sitting. I was so thankful to get these done in time for her visit.  This seemed unique because of the dimension which you can see below.  It’s a balanced ornament but would be just as lovely laying on a table – the back is flat.  Stay tuned, I’m playing around with this type of project so that I know all the ins and outs – when I have it down pat, I’ll share.

WOUW how beautiful isn´t this wonderful ornament here, and yes it´ll be just perfect, whether it´s hanging on a wall or laying on a table, and it´s just absolutely stunning.I´m blown away with the beauty in it here, and I´m sure your sister was too, no doubt about that, and she´ll definitely be treasuring it forever, I´m sure. Love the softness it has and yet sooo rustic at the same time. It´s just amazing hun.

Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken Using Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Okay, it took me an entire day to recuperate my weekend of a coffee drinking, girl chatting, makeover preening, new clothes strutting, pee in your pants giggling, good food eating, hardly no sleeping, sisters reunion.  We had the best time ever!  I don’t think there was a minute of silence except for the couple of hours we slept.  Good morning sweet friends!  I had hoped to post over the weekend, but what in the world was I thinking?  Wild horses couldn’t have torn me away :-)  So thankful for the good things in life like this weekend that reminds me how very precious family is.  Her stay was over in a flash but we spent the whole weekend building each other up and lavishing praise and love.  I feel a new strength today as a long yearned for pep talk sure hit home.

Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken Using Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket - www.amazingpapergrace.com
So back to something I had promised….  I laid out welcome gifts each night and promised to post them.  This was the gift from night two.  A tiny little basket with chocolates and a tiny card.  It took me all of 30 minutes to make!  I can do a tutorial on this later but if you’re curious how to make a box from one of my pocket dies, take a look at this video – same concept except this time I turned the top upside down and added a handle using a 1″ strip for both the bottom and the handle.  For the base I used Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket and for the handle I used Spellbinders Imperial Border.  I cut one Spellbinders Oval Regalia, cut it down the center lengthwise and trimmed it on the edges for the cream filigree you see in the dip – that just serves to hold the contents in a little bit better.

Becca, I am so happy you and your sis had such an overdue wonderful time. You are so right, family is the best and we should never take it lightly or for granted. I don’t have a sister, but I have the next best thing – a cousin. She and I were raised so closely, that we have always felt as though we were more then just cousins, more like sisters. My kids have always called her auntie and it is hard for us to introduce each other as anything other then sisters. We live about 4 hours away from each other, but when we get together, watch out.

Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles, Spellbinders Imperial Square, Spellbinders Victorian Arch, Spellbinders Gilded Gate Two, Quietfire Design - Always Be My Friend - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends and happy Friday.  I’m so giddy my guest arrives today!  It’s a big deal for me because it’s my sister and it’s been five years since I’ve seen her, five years since she was last here.  Awww, it’s just making my heart sing!!  I hope to post the other turndown gifts this weekend, time permitting, in the meantime I have a new card to share today and it is the card that you can win for Day of Giving Friday!  If you are new to my blog – you can find info about Day of Giving on my FAQ List at #11.
Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles, Spellbinders Imperial Square, Spellbinders Victorian Arch, Spellbinders Gilded Gate Two, Quietfire Design - Always Be My Friend - www.amazingpapergrace.com
I’m using a Quietfire Design sentiment called Always Be My Friend and framed it using Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles.  On each corner of the frame I glued accent pieces from Spellbinders Imperial Square.  To add some extra interest I worked in Spellbinders Victorian Arch and used the lovely edge as a border.  And finally to get some color at the top of my design I used Spellbinders Gilded Gate Two and just cut the upper curve – it’s tucked in at the top of my frame.

For today’s comment – What’s making your heart sing today?

Wow, Becca – another absolutely stunning card. I hope you have a great time with your sister and that you will make up for the five years since you’ve seen each other! What’s making my heart sing today? Well I’m all packed and ready to leave for what I know is going to be a wonderful holiday, which will include a new experience. Following a cruise ending up in Venice, we return to London on the Orient Express and I’ve packed some vintage type clothes suitable for our two day journey in elegant 1920s style. Maybe I should make a vintage card to mark the occasion!! Best wishes

My heart is singing today for I get to work on my cards. It is raining here and it looks like it will be for the following week keeping me out of the yard. Therefore I can “play” in the house, i.e. my craft room. I had a big work day yesterday in the yard, tidding up one of my flower beds for the winter. Seems the chores in the yard are much harder on me as I age. So I welcome a respite time for my body to recuperate from manual labor. Your card today is lovely and sweet. I studied it carefully. Your die combination is awesome. I never would have figured out you used part of a gate had you not told us. Love the tiny patterned paper layer. Wishing you and your sister a great and exciting reunion. I know you will have a wonderful time together.ReplyCancel

Oh Becca, this card is stunningly gorgeous!! The layering of all this incredible dies is impeccable, what a glorious way to frame this beautiful sentiment!! All the details are just lovely.
My heart sings every day, we have our daughters and grandchildren living so close by, one next door and the other one just about 20 min. away, that is good enough reason for my heart to be happy. But today in particular it sings because my little blog is going great, I’ve won a guest designer spot at Merry Monday and all the comments left on all my posts are so sweet and supportive. What is making my heart sing today is – I have finally finished decorating my lounge, and this morning I put up my new curtains and placed my new cushions and throws on the couch and chairs (I have only had all these things for 4 years and not had the time to do it), I stood back and looked at everything that had ‘come together’ and I felt so happy. Hi, Becca,
I am so happy for you to be with your sister. My twin sister lives too far away and we just don’t see each other enough. The times together just get more precious with each passing year.
My heart seems to be humming more than singing today-too much sadness, lately. Even though there is no chill in the air, nature is broadcasting “Fall is here!”-my favorite time of the year. It’s Friday, it’s Fall and God blesses me so abundantly. Now there’s something to sing about. Amen!

Hello Becca – This weeks card is a real favorite of mine. I love the pink! It’s my favorite color and the die cut accents add just the right touch. I particularly love the frame you created for the sentiment!
I’m so happy for you and your sister getting to visit with each other! What makes my heart sing? SISTERS! My sister, Sharon, is 1 year and 1 day older than me. We have always been incredibly close so I totally understand how much this visit means to you! I’ve been blessed that even though my sister and I have lived in different states for much of the last 28 years, we’ve only gotten closer as the years have passed. Two hour phone conversations help keep us connected as we laugh, cry and pray together. My sister and I recently shared one of those special chats and I’ve been feeling such love from my sister as a result. I am so thankful I have a blood sister who is also my spiritual sister in Christ. She challenges me but supports me and loves me unconditionally. I pray she feels the same from me. What a blessing a sister is!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,

My heart is singing today and has been for six weeks because I am visiting with my daughter and her family. I got to see my new grandson grow from two weeks to eight weeks and my three year old is my bedtime buddy. The joy of hearing,” grandma, I don’t want you to leave, ever, ” fills my heart and breaks it at the same time. And who can resist a newborn sleeping on their chest? I do hope that you will one day have your heart filled with grandchildren. All my sisters are out of state also, as is this daughter, so I can relate to the gladness that you feel when seeing your sister. Have FUN!

Love the Victorian feel of this beautiful card. In the words of Matt Redman’s song, I have “10 000 reasons to sing” today. Bless the Lord O my soul & forget not all His benefits (Ps 103) In particular I’m rejoicing in His enabling grace for a very difficult & busy time in my life. Thanks for once again helping me to take the time to think about what I have to sing about. xxReplyCancel

    Hello Dear Becca,

This card is just so lovely in all it’s wonderful design and sentiment that it really touched my heart after the very rough time I have been having lately. I long to hear someone say that to me in RL.

I was just diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and Enthesitis which at this time is not being managed as I am allergic to most of the medicines used to control it. Or the one I could take my health insurance refuses to cover.

So right now I would love for someone, anyone to make me a lovely card to help give me Hope to keep taking that One More Step Forward even as much as it physically hurts me. You can also find me on Twitter as ffpaws and on Pinterest as ffpaws.

I am not trying to be a Beggar, just honestly appreciating this community and striving to be a part of it as I can, but it is really hard to make cards with my hands so severely affected by the PsA, Tendinitis and Carpal Tunnel.

I have been wishing so hard for a Machine to help me do the cutting and embossing that I can no longer do with my own hands so ya’ll keep that in your prayers for me tonight, please.ReplyCancel

Another beautiful card, Becca! I too would love to win it! Have a great time with your sister! My heart is singing today because my dear little Yorkie, Izzy, is feeling well enough to actually gamble and romp across my back yard this afternoon! Shortly after I adopted her in late May she fell off my high bed and tore her ACL! It required surgery and being 8 years old she has been having a difficult recovery. Today she feels well enough to romp! It makes my heart sing!!!ReplyCancel

What a beautiful card with a gorgeous sentiment.
My heart is singing today because I received an e-mail from someone with whom I’ve been exchanging ATC’s for the last 5 years. She’s coming up to my City next weekend and would like to visit me. It will be the first time we have met in person. How exciting.

I’m at the stage of life where I’m comfortable and can accept all that life has to offer me….good & bad. I sing the song of praises for my husband and children who have made me the person that I am now. The Lord, my family and friends, my country are my standing grace. I am truly grateful. Can you hear me singing???ReplyCancel

My heart is singing today because I had a wonderful day teaching fourth graders. I am so thankful to God for His goodness this week as we have moved students and rearranged subject assignments to make room for a new teacher. Big changes are tough for little ones — and adults, too —- and the relative ease of these transitions is evidence of answered prayer and God’s help in time of need.ReplyCancel

Love that bow, it just finishes it so nicely. You are so sweet to share with all of us. Hope you and the girls have fun, stay out of trouble though. You are too far away for us to bail you out! Blessings, LisaReplyCancel

Love that pretty background paper. In fact, love the whole card. Would love to win this one. You do so pretty work Becca.ReplyCancel

Your use of pattern paper adds such beauty here. You are so skilled and innovative with your die cut pieces. I think it takes courage to cut up the already beautiful die cuts that are produced using the Spellbinder dies. It takes a special eye and talent to know what to do with the pieces once they’ve been cut. I aspire to gain this kind of skill-set. Seeing what you can do with paper makes my heart sing each time I come to your blog. :)ReplyCancel

Another beautiful card, Becca. No surprise there. You have such a special gift. Does your sister share your blessings or does her talent lie elsewhere? I hope that the two of you have an awesome time together.ReplyCancel

I LOVE this card, especially the sentiment! You always have “something” new that I will “take away” to incorporate in my cards. Today is no exception.

Today, I’m smiling as I get to pick up my 3 yr. old grandson at his new school. We have a very special bond, he and I. I’m sure he will want to play “playdough” after we have our snack.ReplyCancel

Oh, beautiful card as always!! I’m happy tonight, cause we just had my parents over this afternoon and got all the mints made for my brothers wedding. Getting that boring chore done makes me happy…and the fact that we had an uneventful time with my parents, (have some issues from time to time with my dad…LOVE him, but he is a challenge at times) uneventful being a good thing. ;-)) So, I’m singing a happy tune tonight. :-))

    Have fun with your sister!ReplyCancel

Some days, the song is harder to hear. But there is always something. As I sit here at the table, reading my emails, the sun is setting on a beautiful rocky mountain day. No matter how bad the day was, or how much pain I am in, those gorgeous mountains are a reminder that God is good and there is much to sing about.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card. Today I was with two old friends I used to work with. Being with old friends, no matter how long it has been since you have seen each other, and catching up with their lives always makes my heart sing. I hope you and your sister have a wonderful time. Treasure each other! I miss my sisters.

What made my heart sing today was spending time with my granddaughter and scraping together. She loves to do her own thing and I always put little special things in her special box to create cards. It is like Christmas each time she comes over and watching her face as she pulls out something I miss cut or did not need for my project. She has her own mind about what she wants to do and I let her creative spirit soar. Loves the new Christmas card too Becca, It is beautiful with the reindeer.ReplyCancel
