Amazing Paper Grace November 2021 Die of the Month - Pop Up 3D Vignette Christmas Tree - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37623

Good morning sweet friends!  It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays!  In fact, day light savings time begins on November 7th and the early end of the day is what always clues me in that we are in a new season.  I’m back to reveal a new Die of the Month and as you might imagine, I wanted it to harken the coming holidays.  Welcome I hope you love the Amazing Paper Grace November 2021 Die of the Month – Pop Up 3D Vignette Christmas Tree.  There’s enough detail in all of the dies to tinker to your hearts desire.

Inspiration for the Pop Up 3D Christmas Tree

For this month, I wanted an elegant, layered, dimensional Christmas Tree that was as at home on a card as it was on a 3D Showcase card that you mail flattened yet leave standing for display.  Mission accomplished.  I have to say that all of the details, the packages, the bows, the ornaments and such are really delightful.

What’s Inside the Pop Up 3D Vignette Christmas Tree

This month’s set comes with 21 dies that allow you to be as detailed as you care to be!  The nested trees can be cut with or without the dotted detail and they strategically stack so that you have successive layers rather than a flat tree.  The part that makes me smile is the detail with the packages – they make the base so adorable and at the same time give you extra elements to embellish a flat card.   The size of trees and embellishments make it possible to make both A7 and A2 cards with the set.

I love how easy it is take all of the elements and arrange them for a card.  The nested trees are simply adorable!

I also found that the trees were a perfect focal point for a slimline card.  Here I’ve created a simple vertical slimline that gives all the glory to the trees!

And here is the entire group!  By now you have no doubt started on your Christmas cards but don’t forget the special handful of cards that you send to those at the top of your list.  In my world, I make a hand full of showstoppers and it has now become a tradition to those who receive them {heart}.

I’ve been diligently working in my craft room this week getting it set up!  I’m usually pretty shy about these things but you never know – I just might show you some pictures of my progress.  To be honest, it’s therapy sorting things out and getting things back to normal.  For the past couple of years I have crafted on the floor, in the middle of the yard, on the kitchen counter and anywhere else I could find a space in my journey.  If I can do it, so can you!  Not having a “place” shouldn’t be the reason to not craft — I’ll share more thoughts on that soon!

Hi there crafty friends, I’m tickled to be introducing a new collection.  This one is a “must-have” for my toolbox and with it, I’ll be able to jot a pretty die-cut note in the blink of an eye.  The Sweet Serenade Notecard Collection is simply to extend a sweet thought or warm greeting to let them know you’re thinking of them through a heartwarming notecard.  Each member of the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team has created a boxed set to show you how nice they are to have on hand and how lovely they are to give as a gift.  I hope it will inspire you to make some of your own.

The Inspiration behind Sweet Serenade Notecard

Sweet serenade . . . music to the ear with a delightful trail of melodious notes.  Similarly, a sweet note is music to the heart of a friend, the inspiration behind this collection is the ability to create beautiful handwritten notecards. Everything in this collection coordinates together from the card base to the embellishments to the stamps to make wonderful notecard creations! Notecards also make a wonderful gift as a boxed set! Swoon your family and friends with a special handmade gift! Make it seasonal for fall or for the holidays. Maybe a specific style such as soft vintage, clean and simple, or even a mixed media twist!

My Notecard Boxed Set for Today

Here are the two dies I’m highlighting today for my Boxed Set.
S4-1149 Perfect Harmony Notecard Embellishments and S4-1148 Sweet Saying Notecard Sentiments

Today, as promised, I’m keeping things simple.  I know that if I make simple notecards I make a bunch and I’ll use them.  I don’t want to overwhelm myself with too much embellishment and the need for perfection.  The overriding factor is to make it quick and to share them all the time.  So, today I’m sharing a notecard set for me but it can also be a gift.  These notecards are unique in that they are “foldover”.  The little flap makes for the closure of the notecard and it essentially becomes self-contained.

Designers Tip: My biggest tip today with creating notecards is – keep it simple.  Save the masterpieces for the cards you make.  This will encourage you to have a stack on hand and to send them frequently.

Hey there friends, I know that many of you don’t do Facebook and I understand.  For those who do, I hosted a Facebook Live yesterday and had an opportunity to talk about my love of the handwritten word.  It’s an art that I feel is going away.  To this day, I wish I had saved more of Johns handwriting.  Whenever I come across something handwritten that was his, it’s like finding a treasure.  I try to do my part by handwriting notes and much of the inspiration for this collection comes from my passion of writing encouragement notes for others.

If you get time, go to the replay link on the Amazing Paper Grace Facebook Page. Otherwise, I’ll chat with you wherever I see you {heart}

I love the written word too. One of my most cherished treasures are the love letters written between my Grandma and Grandpa. He lived in Arkansas and she lived in Alabama. They met at an ice cream social in 1919 when postage was 1 cent and their correspondence was only by mail. Grandma’s family was against the relationship because they thought she was too young and they didn’t want her to move out of state. As you follow their story, you learn that an older brother intercepted a letter in an attempt to stop their plans but they were determined to be together and arranged to send his letters to a friend of hers. Grandpa was eager “to have her shoes next to mine by the bed” which was probably a bit risqué in those days! The day came when Grandma secretly boarded a train and traveled to Arkansas to be with her love. They were very happily married for 49 years when Grandpa passed away in 1968. Grandma never remarried and passed away in 1982.

I love this story but without their written words, their story would be lost.ReplyCancel
