Amazing Paper Grace April 2021 Die of the Month - Dimensional Dahlia Doily - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37056
I’m no April Fool, but I’m so happy to be moving into a new month.  If you are like me, you are bowled over with spring fever.  The only cure for that, my friend is more flowers.  This month I’ve dreamed up several options in a new Die of the Month created for Spellbinders.  Please welcome the Amazing Paper Grace April 2021 Die of the Month – Dahlia Dimensional Doily.  Dear A2 Card Lovers, this one is for you!  No, but seriously A7 Card Lovers, this one is for you too!

What’s Inside the Dahlia Dimensional Doily Set

First of all, let me say that this is a mini-collection of options, all together in one set.  You can make three different cards from this one mini-collection.  First, you can make a card with the Dahlia Doily – you will definitely want to view the video below to see how the doily is assembled.  Second, you can make a card with the sweet rolled flowers (I’m over the moon about these little romantic flowers).  Lastly, third, you can make a card with the Folded Dahlia.  Oh, and by the way, the panel that is included this month, cut twice, makes the perfect A2 card base. You’re welcome (wink!!)

Inspiration for Dahlia Dimensional Doily

As you might imagine, I keep a sketchbook of all the things I want. Let me just say upfront the I have wanted spiral flowers for more than two years and finally, I have them.  In fact, I tested a lot of spiral flowers (ones with jagged edges, ones with scalloped edges) and the home of my heart is in this flower because it’s soooooooo easy.  I did add a score line so that you could bend the edges over easily.  What a treasure these are!  Think about it – instead of a bow on a gift – rolled paper flowers!  You control the overall size by how tightly you wind them.  As a result, you get handmade paper flowers what every size you want! You can even get itty bitty ones by clipping off some of the tail, giving you less to wind.  Yes, I know, I’m gushing over these….

Today on the inspiration video, see how the dies go together.  Learn what to cut and how to assemble the Dahlia Doily.  Oh, and you’ll also see how easy it is to curl the sweet romantic spiral flowers.

I hope you liked the video that I created for Spellbinders – don’t forget, I have my own Youtube Channel – Be sure to Subscribe HERE.

This die set makes a unique rounded motif with four interacting pieces that create four leaves of a Dahlia.  If you are not the type that likes anything interactive, no worries – just make a flower from the petal die.  I love all of the possibilities and dimension that this combination of dies provides.  There is something for every kind of crafter here…

I loved using the panels to create an A2-sized gatefold card.  On the inside, I simply added a layer of vellum over top of the die cuts for a dreamy look.

Finally, the month would not be complete without a box to top it all off.  The filigree panel makes this the perfect size for a gift box or a box to give A2-sized cards in.  All in all, the set includes so many options to make a variety of cards and gifts!  Sweeties, please have fun with this one!

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace Collection - Stained Glass Floral Bouquet - more details at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37025
It’s a miracle that little painted shards of glass can come together to create such beauty!!  The intriguing lure of Stained Glass has inspired artisans from around the world to try their hand at shuffling colors and shuffling shards of glass to create something lovely to gaze upon.  Today we are introducing the newest Amazing Paper Grace die cutting collection called Stained Glass Floral Bouquet, created for Spellbinders.

Stained Glass Floral Bouquet Inspiration

I always wanted to do stained glass with real glass!  Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too?  Now it’s easy to create with dies and paper!  It’s amazing how you can give the same outline to a hand full of different artists and each will come up with a totally different look.

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace Collection - Stained Glass Floral Bouquet - more details at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37025

Stained Glass Floral Bouquet Collection

The Stained Glass Floral Bouquet Collection is made up of 7 different die sets.  They are sized for layering and include small designs all the way up to A7 designs with different frames that can make both A2 and A7 designs.  The collection boasts shadow dies for each set so that whenever you don’t want a multicolor design, you can layer your “die-cut leading” onto one color.  The hallmark of the collection is a sweet stained glass flower and shadow in almost every set.  As a result, that gives you a background die and a central motif for each set.

Attention “technique junkies” this collection is sweetly serenading you to try your favorite technique with the leading and the shards.

Here are ours:

  1. Fill each opening with a different color paper and add Glossy Accents.
  2. Ink on a hombre background before resetting your shards.
  3. Add a smidge of color in each opening with a Copic Marker.
  4. Use a different color leading – white, black, gold, silver.
  5. Build up tall leading with 4 layers and adhesive in between each.

My Projects for Today

I’m using S5-448 – Radiant Oval

For my project today, I’ve made two cards.  For the first, I’ve done traditional stained glass which emphasizes the leading.  It was a perfect opportunity to create some ink blends.  Once the ink was laid down on the paper, I then cut with the die.  I just love bringing romantic color to these motifs!!

For my second card, I went with two colors to keep things simple.  If you are pressed for time, this creates a fabulous look without any coloring!

Designers Tip: For an ink blended ombre, it’s easiest to create your ombre on flat paper then die cut  from the flat paper.

Amazing Paper Grace March 2021 Die of the Month - 3D Mini Vignette Floral Mason Jar - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37003
Good morning crafty friends! Amazing Paper Grace March 2021 Die of the Month - 3D Mini Vignette Floral Mason Jar - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37003
This time around with the Mason jar I limited myself to one of the three flower types included in the set.  They layer up so easily and look great with a touch of ink swirled onto the edges.  For my first go at this Mason Jar, I put clear acetate on the front and back, making it see-through.  This time I decided to put the acetate only on the front side so that I could showcase some sweet design paper.  To get the bouquet to be somewhat balanced, I simply threaded a flower or two through the slit in the mason jar lid.

Because I love opportunities to pair a card with a box or basket in a gift ensemble, I created a little basket for some goodies.  It’s just big enough for a couple of homemade cookies or a few gourmet coffee k-cups.  The basket is too easy but I lined it with the same design paper and I love using the frilly lace piece as the basket edge.
