Hi there blog friends. Well, I circled back around and tried this again, and I guess the second times a charm. I wanted to prepare another version of the medallion flower, so this time I put it on a card and made a matching box. You all were curious, so the tutorial basically shows how you put the medallion together. Once together, you have options to put it on a box, card or on perhaps a bed of lace for a corsage.
For my sample, I’m using the new JustRite StampersShabby Music Background. It was the inspiration for my box and I extended it to my card for a matching ensemble.
The sentiment is from the new JustRite Stampers With Sympathy set. It fit perfectly on Spellbinders™ Ribbon Banners.
The medallion is made using JustRite Stampers Nested Medallion Labels – custom die templates produced by Spellbinders and is stamped using the new JustRite Stampers set called Starburst Medallion Labels.
By the way, several of you asked about my filigree hearts. They are very light weight – made of metal and I purchased them at Michaels :-) Thanks so much for stopping by. I’ll see you soon!!
Gorgeous creation, Becca! Haven’t looked at the tutorial yet since I’m at work but I’ll beback for sure! Can’t wait!ReplyCancel

BECCA THANKS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL CARD AND BOX. ALSO, MANY MORE THANKS FOR THE TUTORIAL.
Hi there blog friends! What a glorious way to start the week! I’ve had a little burst of creative energy and this week, so much so that I’ve had to have a little pad of paper at my workbench to write the ideas down. Yep, this morning I was up an at it early, and followed my creative muse down a tangent that will become a tutorial later on this week. But in the mean time, I got a nice little surprise as I sat down for a cup of tea . . .
Last week when I was in Sam’s Club, I picked one of my favorite magazines up on my way out the door. When I sat down to flip through this morning, I happened upon something I made!! You all remember that design? Yes, it went to CHA last summer and I knew a publisher wanted it, but I never knew it had been published. In this issue they mention Spellbinders, but really, it was little ole’ me. This is a bit of an atta girl moment for me. Since it doesn’t happen too often, I hope you don’t mind me sharing it with you.
Well, honestly, back to my now, cold tea! By the way, I’m working on tutorials today. I’m trying to schedule them when I can show new die templates so keep your eyes open for new things from me. In the mean time, I’ll be back later on this evening with a blog candy winner.
Congratulations Becca!!!!! I’m really pleased for you and it’s so well deserved, but still a lovely surprise. We all know it’s your work :)
Hugs Debbi xReplyCancel

Hi Becca,
I saw this the day before yesterday and I thought it was stunning. The picture I saw was of your beautiful wreath hanging from a matching ribbon and big bow in a setting that looked like the outdoors (not sure where I am sorry to say). Maybe you can remember who else published it; It did have your name attached to it.
Anyway, it is so beautiful, I think it would be perfect for aisle settings at a wedding instead of using flowers or bows. Plus you could make individual cones to be used for confetti and even favours.
Have a good day. Hope you are well

Awesome! I keep telling you- you need to publish a book! Dear lady, your work is a,gift! I wouls be first in line to buy your book.

A card or paper project influenced by the message
How to instructions and Becca Bits
A daily Becca message!

You deserve more than an ‘atta girl’ ! Oddly enough, I think if I were to see a creation in a magazine without credit going to you, I would still know it was yours. I can’t abide Spellbinders not giving you the credit for your design. What’s going on there. Seems like exploitation to me. Certainly they have some say in what goes into a magazine, when it is their product.
Edited to add by Becca: Marlene, no fault of Spellbinders, just circumstance, but nothing bad going on there. It was just the way the magazine listed it and I probably had to levy the stipulation that it carry my name. I didn’t do that, it’s not something that bothers me. Hugs BeccaReplyCancel
This certainly doesn’t surprise me. Your talent needs to be shown-world wide. With all your beautiful creations, you certainly could produce several books of all your beautiful cards and hybrids- along with picture tutorials. Congratulations on your recognition. I’m sure it’s just the beginning!

I am very excited for you, but really disappointed that credit was not. It is suprising that you don’t appear like in every other page considering all the creative projects you come up with time after time. Don’t you usually have to submit something for publication??? Do you do that Becca? If not, you should. Your talents are so far superior to most that I see that actually do get published. But what ever the case, it has got to feel really special to flip open a magazine, and realize that it is your work staring up at you. Congrats.

There’s a little princess in each and every one of us, wanting to get out. Some days we’re the princess of quite a lot, sometimes we’re a princess because people love us, sometimes we’re a princess because we need a boost and being a princess makes us feel nice. Today, you’re the princess and I have your crown and magic wand ready! I was inspired by a whimsical play tiara that my sister gave me – it lives in my craft room. She put it on me to make me smile on the day we took my blog picture above. Every now and again when mojo seems to have left me, I sneak in and put it on!! From the first moment I saw Spellbinders S5-078 Persian Accents and Spellbinders S5-079 Persian Motifs, I thought the border looked like a tiara. Each element looks both vintage and regal. Each piece is delightfully filigreed and easily stackable with so many different options. I have several close up shots so that you can see the beautiful detail on each die template!!
The wand is very light with ribbon streamers and uses foil, cardstock and decorative pearls and bling. It’s essentially a medallion, and the back layer is flat and was cut from the foil.
The medallion I created for the wand has the same layers as the medallion that forms the central peak of the crown.
The layers on the crown are less than 1/2″ and is able to sit flatly on a wire base which you can see above. Below is one last close up for detail.
Here are the new dies I introduced:
My second project had to have pink!! I’ve created a dimensional envelope to house a small card and have created a bag with a vertical belly band as an accessory. I’ll be teaching you how to make this ensemble today.
Below is a picture of the opened envelope with the card inside.
Below is a view of the small card sitting on the entirely opened envelope.
Below is a picture of the accessory gift bag with vertical belly band.
I’ve put together a video below to show how I made the ensemble here is the link:
Here are my supply lists for both projects:

Oh Becca, my niece would lose her mind over this set! She’s coming down in a couple of weeks to be a “Princess” at Disney. Of course, she’d probably be pretty rough on it…although maybe not…I gave her some Princess stuff last year and she’s kept it almost pristine! Anyhow, that’s not what I started out to tell you…This is incredible and I’m sooo glad that you finally got to share it. Darn it, now I’m gonna need to add this one to the list. Very nice. I was not aware of the benefits of the rough edges on a stylus. Now when I want to round up an edge, that is what I can use.

Is the ek success border punch what you edged the box and card with? What is the name of it?
Hi Becca,
This is lovely and I think it looks as beautiful on the card as it did on the box.

I am in Scotland and you have lots of fans here. This internet is wonderful for sharing experiences and making new friends of a like mind.
What a beautiful card and box. I put the JR Stamp Sets and the Spellbinder dies on my wish list, my birthday is soon so I am keeping my fingers crossed!! (LOL). Was the border on the card and around the
box top from a border punch? Thanks for the great tutorial too!
Thank you for inspiring so many!!!
Thanks for the tutorial. Great as always. I love the medallion.
Luv your cards and Vintage is so IN! Thanks for the chance to win the beautiful goodies!
Your travel card really inspired me to make a similar one. I loved all your layers, but alas, my own stash creates a very different card! You provide oodles of inspiration for me.
I’ve always wanted to learn to knit. Some friends are teaching me, but I make a lot of mistakes, and have to stop when I make one until I see them for our biweekly gathering so they can correct it and get me started again. I don’t know if I will ever finish this scarf nor want to wear it, but I’m determined to keep trying.
I love your blog and follow it every single day. Love the cards you make. I’ve thought of quilting but feel that my paper crafting wouldn’t leave me enough time to do so. Thanks for all you do.
Cathy D
Thanks for a great tutorial Becca.
Just beautiful, as always! I have been unable to locate the border punch – what is it called?
Becca my head set is currently shorting out and I was so unhappy to miss your voice but took a deep breath and simply watched and you spoke to me beautifully with your hands and I could understand your tutorial. You are a true gift to us all and again I say “Thank You” for your wonderful tutorial!
