Amazing Paper Grace August 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders - Elegant Knots - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35207

Good morning sweet peeps!  The months literally fly by.  It seems that I was just here telling you about the July Die of the Month (one of my favorites so far) and then shazam, I wake up and we’re in a new month.  As always, I really enjoy having a die of the month program.  It gives me the chance to keep on creating and with these dies, I can cater more toward unique features.  I’m trying to add a line up that will utilize several techniques and features to broaden our stashes or the toolbox, so to speak.  Today I ticked to introduce the August 2019 Die of the Month, Elegant Knots.  All of the samples this month show how easy it is to take this die and use it for several holiday occasions.  I made samples for Christmas, Valentines Day and an Anniversary.

Don’t miss the Creative Team’s Blog Hop to show their iterations with Elegant Knots.

Inspiration for Elegant Knots

Elegant Knots was created because my love of a card front die that can also be used as a decoration and because of the ability to stencil through the channel in the lines of the die.  For this die, the embossed lines are so pronounced that all it really took to get the stencil look in all the samples is to sit an ink pad on top and swipe over it.  The raised area picks up the color and the non-raised areas do not.  It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a die that caters to that intriguing feature.  I’ve had fun creating :-)   Today in the video I’m sharing how to make a showcase ornament for a Christmas Tree or even another occasion, like wedding or anniversary.

I love a shaped card!  This one has that vellum that gives it an ethereal look.  It was really a joy to create a die that is so easily colored and embellished.  On this one I swiped a Gold Delicata ink pad across the top to give it color.

I used the same technique to make the star ornament.  It actually goes quite well with the Christmas card at the top of the post but also makes the Valentines Day Card right above it.

As always, I love to be able to create a basket or box from the same die.  You know, I have that ensemble thing going on, lol!

Last but not least, the anniversary card!  This one is made by crisscrossing two of the elegant knot motifs.

Well, that’s my shares for you with the August 2019 Die of the Month!  Pop over to the Spellbinders Blog to have a look at many more pictures of Elegant Knots.  You’ll find a cool project that I’ve not shown here.

This is just a stunning card. I usually don’t like the color red on a card but this is so perfect. Outstanding. Also looking forward to hearing about what all has been happening in your life. I have wondered many times how you have fared after the big storm damaged your house and sent you away from home for a while. You may have already posted on facebook about this but I am not on facebook and end up being in the dark on so many things. Take care sweet computer friend . God bless…Denice with a “c”ReplyCancel

Hi there crafty friends!  It’s the beginning of another month and as you know, lots of exciting things happen at APG throughout the month.  I’m thrilled to be introducing another sweet Guest Designer to the Amazing Paper Grace Blog.  She’s a veteran of the paper crafting community and has done stints on many design teams.  She has a very vintage style, commanding the elements we all know and love – ribbon, flowers, gingham, ephemera and more.  Please welcome our August 2019 Guest Designer Ginny Nemchak.

She’s kicking off her month by sharing a creation made using one of my well loved dies from the stash Tallulah Frill.  During the month please be sure to take a peek at her Ginny’s blog every week of August for a new creation using Amazing Paper Grace dies.

Mental note:  Don’t forget, tomorrow I’ll show you inspiration for the new August Die of the Month.  Peek here!!

I’m Ginny Nemchak and I live in a sweet little town out in the country with my husband of 26 years. I’m convinced that there is no better living than out on a dirt road….it’s a very blessed life I have.

I’ve been crafting my whole life in some form…but my creative outlet is now focused on paper. I enjoy all types from layouts to mini albums to cards. Recently I discovered a new love for altered art and digital collage.  I enjoy all things vintage and shabby chic. Anytime I can add ribbon and flowers and buttons I am a happy girl!

We were so blessed to have Karan Gerber as the Amazing Paper Grace Guest Designer for July and what a month it has been!!  She crafted up a host of sweet, romantic projects using the Amazing Paper Grace Vintage Treasures Collection. Her creations blew our minds – in fact, many are on my “must make” list.

Karan is an ever-present encourager in the paper crafting community and always there with kind words on Facebook and Instagram.  We were amazed at the depth and creativity of her projects and hope you will stay tuned on her blog for what’s next.  She’s never far away as she teaches classes and is a fixture with many leading paper craft companies.  It’s been a pleasure working with her this month and I am posting her social media again so that you can stay connected with her.

Finally, today I wanted to recap the amazing projects she shared with us!

**********************************************************************

Creating with Karan Gerber

Karan soothed us all month with a sweet lavender palette.  She made an amazing creation with Floral Tiara Topper by creating an actual tiara.  So sweet!

When you look at all the detail she built into to this gorgeous oval card made using Bella Luce Oval, I just swoon.  She’s a mixed media artisan and the coloring, layers and spatters of texture speak volumes!

And as an encore, look at her masterful use of Cinch and Go Flowers V that grace all of her creations here.  She’s used a favorite – Cannetille Rectangles, and the depth she created behind the layers is exquisite.

A heartfelt thanks to Karan for sharing her amazing palette with us during July.  Her shabby, layered, mixed media style has been a welcome inspiration!
