Amazing Paper Grace June 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders - Enchanting Battenburg Corners - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35027
I’m always tickled to kick off each month with a new Die of the Month.  The die of the month for June is Enchanting Battenburg Corners – a die with a lot of extra use built in.  On this particular die, I’ve added flaps so that you can use it for a side pocket.  There are a set of rims that will produce a solid shadow.  Finally, there is a smaller die that can be inlaid or used to shape your top corner or bottom corner.

Behind the scenes, the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team are creating some gorgeous cards and creations to show you on June 16th.

Inspiration for Enchanting Battenburg

This set mimics the beauty of Battenburg Lace with the tiny bridges and swirls that keep the lace together.  It has been on my die bucket list for a while – I hope you like it!  Today in the video I’m sharing how to make a clamshell style box that will hold a set of cards – all made with this die set:

Enchanting Battenburg Corner Samples

I reach for mini cards all the time.  It’s great to be able to put them together quickly and have them available for a note or a quick thank you.  The dies here do double duty for both the mini cards and for the clam shell box I created for them to go into.

I love that the smaller die makes a shaped corner, furthermore, it adds a nice decorative edge to the cards when I cut the panels on two corners.

Here I’ve used the dies to make a conventional card – I’ve shadowed them with gold for that extra punch.  I love how the edges of the corners peek out and it gives me an opportunity to build some flowers on top for interest.

Love battenburg lace, Becca, so this is right up my alley. Mine usually don’t get here until about the 15th of the month but will be happy to do some cuts and see what i can come up with.
Keep up the fabulous die of the months. One of the things I liked about this was that you didn’t have to order it if it was something that you didn’t care for. Ha ha! Have loved them all!!!!

I am a big fan of the way you do your instructional videos. I am not fond of a lot of unnecessary talk. Of course what is useful is fine but so many people spend 5 or 10 mins sometimes more chatting about anything that comes to mind that has nothing to do with the how to’s of what they are supposed to be showing. You do your videos just right in my opinion. Really a wonderful die and you always do a great job bringing all the dies to a beautiful use. God bless…Denice with a “c”ReplyCancel

Becca, you have designed dies that make me look good to the person I gift a product made from your dies. I love this set of Battenburg Lace dies and look forward to using them when they get to me. I made the note cards and little box with last month’s “Die of the Month”. So very sweet. I made one for a friend’s birthday and even one for me. I even made little envelopes for my note cards. I am so impressed with your engineering mind and how it works. You keep me wanting more and more of your designs. Thanks Becca.ReplyCancel

I find myself waiting for the beginning of each month with anticipation for your new die and for the wonderful creations you and your talented team make using these dies. Such creative minds and inspiration and joy all of you provide. Becca you have been instrumental in my creative journey with not only your talented designs but with your spirit and kindness. I want to concur about your training videos – easy to understand and follow. I love the cabinets (would love to see more inserts for different occasions), the frames are fabulous (so versatile which lets me make picture frames to books – perhaps a delicate stand to hold frame and cut outs to decorate sides) and those baskets & boxes to die for. Trying to figure out how I can use those corner dies to make fans – you and your team I am sure could do it in a snap i’m sure! You’ve opened a wonderful world for me for which I am truly grateful – Thank You!ReplyCancel

I’m a new fan of APG. Becca, you have such a romantic style that just makes me weak in the knees… I adore everything you do! I am excited to begin the “Becca” phase of crafting career. My favorite part watching your tutorial is how you mash up different die sets and create something new and amazing! The multiple types of projects you put forth from cards, boxes, flowers, from a single die is brilliant and it adds value to the investment. I super appreciate the work you put in to keep the APG dies relevant and used throughout the crafting projects. I am so happy to have found your blog. ???ReplyCancel

Guest Designer Kathy Clement Project for Amazing Paper Grace using Spellbinders Vintage Treasures Collection - see full post at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35008

Good morning friends!  So often I’m speechless over how a designer has used some of the things I create.  Because of this, we are beginning a new feature here at Amazing Paper Grace by asking some of our sweet creating friends to join us for a month with their creations.  I’m tickled to introduce our first Guest Designer – Kathy Clement.  She is headlining my blog today with one of her creations using Vintage Treasures and I’m so proud to show you what an amazing designer she is, as well as what she has made with my dies.  Be sure to join her on her blog (http://www.kathybydesign.com) every week of June for a new creation using Amazing Paper Grace dies.   Let me officially introduce our Kathy Clement!

In other news, join us tomorrow for the release of a new die of the month!  Can’t wait?  Peek here!!post-header-bottom

Amazing Paper Grace Guest Designer - June 2019 - Kathy ClementKathy Clement is shamelessly addicted to beautiful papers, embellishments, dies, flowers, ribbons, and anything to do with the wonderful world of paper crafting. Her mother first taught her how to create a card using folded paper and crayons at the age of 4. She has never grown tired of it, although her supplies have certainly had an upgrade. For many years, mothering and homeschooling five beautiful children were her full-time occupation. Once the chicks left the nest, she rediscovered her passion for paper, and Kathy by Design was born in 2010.

In addition to selling custom handcrafted paper art in her Kathy by Design Etsy shop, she enjoys the privilege of serving on several design teams. Her style is decidedly vintage/shabby chic with lots of layering, embellishments, ribbons and mixed media techniques to create beautiful textures and dimension. Primarily known as a cardmaker, she also loves to create mini albums, mixed media art, canvases, altered art and even scrapbook layouts.

Her most recent crafting obsession is designing interactive folios. You may follow her work and find links to all her social media outlets on her website at http://www.kathybydesign.com. Her heart to educate and inspire others to discover as well as develop the joy of creating with paper led her to create a YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/kwclement) with over 100 free videos and tutorials.

Married to her darling husband Dale for 43+years, she lives in the charming southern town of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina where she delights in passing on her love for crafting to 3 lovely granddaughters.

Kathy created a beautiful folio using the Vintage Treasures Collection.  There’s so much dimension to this lovely project with so many layers and pockets to tuck ephemera.  I’m swooning over what an absolute keepsake she has created.  Take a look!

3D Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace using S4-981 1" Shadowbox Frame - see project and links at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=34988
Good morning friends.  I have a Card/Box Ensemble to share today that I realized I had not shared yet.  I’m always amazed at new ways to use the Adjustable Frame dies from the Shadowbox Collection and here I used the frames to fashion a caddy to hold cards.  Can I just say it was easy?  Or rather, the concept is easy.

Also, Amazing Paper Grace will be kicking off their first Guest Designer on June 1st and showing a new Die of the Month of June 2nd – busy times ahead, I hope you’ll peek in for both of those events.  Also, for the last blog hop winner, please scroll down to the bottom of the post :-)

3D Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace using S4-981 1" Shadowbox Frame - see project and links at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=34988
I was on a time crunch back when I made this so I purchased cards and envelopes but in real life – one of my Glimmer borders would be up to the task.  With cards in hand, I decided which size frames to make using the 1″ Adjustable Shadowbox Frame and constructed a three-sided frame – leaving one edge open.

3D Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace using S4-981 1" Shadowbox Frame - see project and links at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=34988
I constructed a base, that looks much like a book cover and simply glued the three-sided frames inside with the opening at the top.

3D Gift Making Ideas by Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace using S4-981 1" Shadowbox Frame - see project and links at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=34988
Although each frame could simply be closed in with a piece of design paper, I opted for vellum so that you could see a hint of what was behind.

There are definitely more of these sets in my future.  I think it’s a lovely way to keep, display and have handy, the little cards we need just for a quick thanks.  As always, I have found that friends greatly appreciate this kind of kit as a gift because it’s the kind of thing they don’t buy for themselves.
