Gift Box and Card Ensemble Tutorial by Becca Feeken using Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame - see full supply list and step by step tutorial at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33172
Hi there sweet peeps!  I had a lovely Christmas with my daughter and have another day or two with her before she returns.  I thought this would be a great time to show a project I made earlier that I haven’t shared here as well as some lovely inspiration from the Creative Team.  The project is a Gift Box and Card Ensemble using a folded Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame.  I love using large templates and figuring out the ratio to turn them into boxes.  For this project I also used the Lunette Arched Borders set and specifically the lattice design from that set.  The cards are 3-1/2″ x 5″ each.

Putting Together the Gift Box Notecards:

1.  Cut small card 7″ tall by 5″ wide; score in half to make a 3-1/2″ x 5″ landscape card, round corners on bottom two corners.

2.  Cut/emboss Bella Rose Lattice Layering Die including the large oval die.

3.  Hand fold the Bella Rose die cut in half and glue to card base.

4.  Make a 1″ slit along the middle of the fold card base at the fold line.  Then punch a hole in the large loop on the bottom of the card and thread ribbon up through hole and down through slit.  Secure ribbon with tape.  Add a pre-tied bow to ribbon at bottom, center of card.

Assembling the Gift Box Bottom:

1.  Cut two pieces of sturdy card stock to 6-1/2″ x 7-1/2″

2.  With the 6-1/2″ edge at the top of a scoreboard, score at 4″ and 6″ then with the 7-1/2″ edge at the top of a scoreboard, score at 5″ and 7″

3.  Cut as shown, round corners and add ScorTape to right side flaps.
4.  Remove tape liners and lift right piece onto left flap to make one piece.  Fold right flap under then fold entire piece in center (wrong sides together) to engage the remaining flap.  Pop up box from flat to dimensional and close bottom tabs.

Constructing the Gift Box Top:

1.  Cut/emboss Bella Rose Lattice Layering Die, excluding the large oval die but including the arched inserts from Lunette Borders.

Tip:  Placing the arched pieces is easy if you use the large oval as a guide but then remove so as to not cut out the oval.

2.  Score 1-1/2″ from each edge turning 90 degrees for each score and as a result, that will give you a total of four score lines.

3.  Cut as shown above.

4.  Trim loops from each end as shown above.

5.  Flex all score lines, bend flaps around end of top and glue sparingly.

The project is not hard at all but I do recommend practicing the top with scrap card stock before making the final top.  I do this with all the models I work with and it makes it stress free :-)

Hey, don’t forget to share what you make on Instagram or Facebook if you live there.  I’m so tickled when you all tag me to show you’ve created something or remade one of my cards to send to a loved one.  I love instagram because it’s on my phone and I take it everywhere.  If you’re a hold out and want to learn how to get started, let me know if your comments.  I’m considering doing a series of posts :-)

Hi Becca. Lovely item as usual. You do the most amazing things with shapes, cuts and folds. That’s what caught my eye first time I saw something you created (the punched geometric folds for flowers or medallions). Anyway, yes, I would love instructions on using Instagram. I am not really a hold out, just old (lol) and learning isn’t as easy as it once was, so learning from you in your calm voice and manner would be so helpful. Thanks for asking. :-)ReplyCancel

Die Cut Bella Rose Ornament by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33083
Good morning sweet friends!  Just in case you didn’t see this before, today I’m sharing the tutorial for the Bella Rose Die Cut Ornament on my blog – it was the first in the Die Cut Ornament series.  (I also have more Creative Team Inspiration with more cards made with the Chantilly Lace Collection.)  I posted this picture on Instagram and several of you have made similar ornaments – that simply makes my heart sing!   It’s an easy make with eight cuts of the Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame – except this time I use the inner oval portion along with inserts from the Lunette Arched Borders set.  It certainly makes for a signature look ornament that people will notice.  One reader even said to hang it over the door with mistletoe for a kissing ball.  I love all the ideas that flooded in and I hope you’ll snag the info for a try next year or even this year as the icing on the cake.

Here are links to the other two Die Cut Ornaments I made this season:  Multiloop Tiered Bow Die Cut Ornament and Swirl Bliss Pocket Die, Die Cut Ornament.

How to Assemble Your Bella Rose Die Cut Ornament:

Die Cut Bella Rose Ornament by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33082
Gather a tassel, bow and embroidery thread.  Cut eight ovals with inserts from S6-129 Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame.  I used the heart motifs from S5-330 Lunette Arched Borders for the insert on mine.   I also cut two small snowflakes from S3-302 Die D-Lite Snowflakes.

Die Cut Bella Rose Ornament by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33083
Using Glossy Accents, glue all eight folded elements together.  Do this by placing one folded element on table, glue exposed top and stack another element on top of glue.  Repeat until all eight pieces are finished.   Die Cut Bella Rose Ornament by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33083
Glue snowflakes back to back on thread with tassel and glue thread to edge of stack.

To finish, close the circle by putting glue on the last piece on top and gluing it to the first piece on the bottom of the stack.  Embellish by putting a button and bow on top.  Your ornament will lay flat for storage, as shown below.  If you want your ornament to retain a consistent shape, simply arrange the gores so that they are even and  add a dollop of hot glue at top of ornament.

Cardmaking Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Snowflake Snippets, Spellbinders Vintage Pierced Banners, Quietfire Design - International Christmas - see fully supply list as well as tips on tone-on-tone backgrounds at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32932
I hope you are having a good day!  Me?  Happy to say I’m in the Christmas zone!  Today I wanted to show you an easy way to get a tone-on-tone embossed look simply by gluing your die cuts to the same color paper for a subtle, but dimensional look.  In fact, the more I look at this, the more the tone-on-tone reminds me of a vintage tin tile!

Making a Tone-on-Tone Background

To get this look simply cut Spellbinders Snowflake Snippets and arrange them on your panel how you would want them to appear.  Take each die cut and dot very sparingly with Ranger Glossy Accents and adhere each down with this clear medium, one by one.  After it dries, amazingly, you have a tone-on-tone background that gives a understated but dimensional look.

Because I didn’t want to cover up my card, this was the perfect opportunity to use Vintage Pierced Banners  to add a sentiment and at the same time, echo the curve around the flower!  For the sentiment, I’m using Quietfire DesignInternational Christmas.  I arched the stamp on my block so that it would match the curve of the pierced banner.

There are so many variations to this theme but from a decorative standpoint, tone-on-tone is the easiest.  The next time I try this card, I’m gonna play with the two toned look by placing some of the cream chads back into place :-)
