Amazing Paper Grace July 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders - Graceful Concertina - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35128
It’s that time again, play time!  Today I’m introducing the new Die of the Month, Graceful Concertina! It’s unlike anything I have in my stash.  On this particular die template, there are connectors on the side so that you connect one panel to the next and the next and so on.  As always, it is set up with a rim so that you can have a shadow layer and there is a small inlay panel.

Inspiration for Graceful Concertina

For this die, I worked backward to make sure the die could be used for more than just a card.  I think it makes a beautiful card, but it also makes a beautiful card, box, votive holder, envelope and more :-)  Since the card made with this template is easy peasy, today in the video I’m sharing how to make a quick box:

This is a concertina of three panels.  It could go on and on and on :-)  I like to think it could be used to make a mini album and I’m thinking to give it a try in the near future.  In particular, I’ve been wanting to make a “10 Things I Adore About You” and I think it will be perfect!!

This a two panel-shaped card.  It’s the quickest and easiest project to make :-)

Because of all the open lacey spaces, I thought this would make a fabulous votive holder using one of those battery operated candles.  It did not disappoint and the votive creates a soft glowing romantic light.

And finally, the box.  It’s just so different from other boxes, I couldn’t resist whipping one up.

    Looking at all your beautiful creations makes me soooo happy to be a Die of the Month subscriber. I love how you connected the concertina panels with ribbon (a know of a couple other methods that don’t work ;->). Thank for taking the time to make us a tutorial for the box. Hi there friends, today we are having a blog hop to give you some inspiration for the June Die of the Month.  I just love this die set, the design inspiration was Battenburg Lace and I thought it would be perfect to design it into a corner.   This set is called Enchanting Batterburg Corners.  Oh, and also the winner from last weeks blog hop is listed at the bottom of my post.

I’ve always gotten a lot of mileage out of corner dies and my mind immediately thought of a gazillion ways to use it.  I took the opportunity to make a “large” square card – it’s much like what my UK friends make but I’ve also seen large store bought cards this size.  This one is a belated graduation card and I’m tickled with how it turned out. This Quietfire Design sentiment from the Every Day is a Journey Set seems perfect for the occasion.   In addition to the sentiment inside, there is room to put a pocket the size of a dollar bill so that I can enclose money or a pocket the size of a credit card so that I can add a gift card.  I’ll do that once I decide.

For this card, I cut four of the Battenburg pieces and trimmed the flaps to a scant 1/8″.  Then I taped them together by the flap.  It creates a beautiful square.  Then I took the small corner piece and a strip of 4″ paper and trimmed off the top using the upper rim and inlay.  I did the same on the bottom for a long centerpiece.  To finish off I cut the shadow of small corner piece from gold and layered it behind.

Happy Mothers Day!!  I’m wishing you sweet time with your families and a lovely time with your next project if you have creating time today. Wow, do we have some eye candy for you today.  I have to say that the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for April is a bit sleeper at first glance.  It looks so conventional, but when you start playing with it – magic!  When you see how the Creative Team has whipped this die into a myriad of gifts, you’ll be amazed!!  The die set is called the Nostalgic Serenade Card Frame and because of the structure, it can be made into so many things!

So for my project today, I decided to make a tent stand!!  This die lends itself so favorably to folding and cutting.  I did a partial (half) cut of the inner ring of the die and folded the remainder of the template back to make my tent.  Of course, I layered it up to give it a little bit of dimension.  So what can this be used for – dream, my friend, dream.  It’s excellent for a menu, for a place card, for numbering tables and the list goes on.

    I’m SO IN LOVE with this frame die. The hop has shown so many fabulous ways to use it. I’m over the moon about these fantastic menu cards you’ve created with it. Absolutely AMAZING! THanks for all the inspiration on this fantastic hop. I’m off to the Amazing Paper Grace store to look around.
