Really!!  It honestly doesn’t get any easier than this, lol!  I have less than an hour invested in this card but I’m pleased as punch.  You see, one of my Quietfire Design team mates is hosting a challenge over on Two Peas and I was fretting about whether I would have time enough to enter.  So, I’m checking it off my list :-)  I absolutely love this sentiment!!  No telling why I went with the red and white other than I love them and to me it makes the card jump out at you.
By the way, if you have some sweet sentiments you’d like to show off, head on over here to check out the rules for this ultra simple challenge in the Winterfest 2011 and give it a whirl!!

I’m under the gun to get some cards out in the mail, so I’ve decided that this will be the format for my mailing, er..um..minus the gems, lol!  I love it when a plan comes together.  Speaking of plan, I hope yours includes some me time or craft time!!

HOW IT’S MADE

1. Make Card Base – mine is 5″ x 6.5″
2. Cut paper 4.25″ x 5.5″ and emboss.
3.
Stamp sentiment and adhere to a slightly larger mat with foam tape.
4. Tie Ribbon, adhere focal panel to base using foam tape.
5. Adhere a gem to each embossed line intersection. (80) and 1 pearl at center.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – To Create Is to Touch
Paper: Strathmore Acrylic
Ink: Colorbox Pigment Ink – Cranberry
Accessories:  Satin Ribbon, Pearl, Ruby Gems, Clear Embossing Powder. Sizzix Embossing Plate – Thank You Set #5

Be sweet and enjoy your day!!

Hi there blog friends.  Don’t forget to have a look along my righthand sidebar and weigh in on your frugal tips under 31 Days to a Frugal Papercrafter.  For today’s card I went with soft, soothing classic colors.  The paper I was using is almost like a toile so I brought in some other classic elements like the Spellbinders Lacey Ovals.  I think it goes perfectly with this new sentiment from Quietfire Design called If We Knew Each Other’s Secrets.   I wondered if I could fashion some of the roll flowers out of an oval and yep, the lacey ovals worked just fine.  I simply cut a spiral inside and discarded most of the middle once I ran out of scallops.  I like them – it’s easy to bend down the loops to make offset petals.

I layered two lacey circles together for the look I’m getting here – they were just offset a little.  I also cut the centers out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG.  I didn’t want to pull another color in so I simply went with cream colored leaves using Spellbinders Foliage.  The sweet little border at the bottom (perfect size) was made from Spellbinders Banner Basics Two.  Loving that paper – I just can’t get enough of the K and Company Julianna collection from which I pulled all but my card base and the solid cream layer.

Supplies I Used
Stamps: Quietfire DesignIf We Knew Each Others Secrets
Paper
: K&Co, The Paper Company
Ink
: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Prussian Blue

Accessories
: Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG, Spellbinders Foliage, Spellbinders Banner Basics Two, Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks for every click that get’s you here.  I made it brief today because sometimes I get looooong winded :-)  Be blessed, friends!!

You are never long winded for me – I love to read how and why you did something on a card, what is your favorite paper at the moment, where you purchased some of your ‘stuff’…..just makes you so ‘human’. That sounded strange, so I guess I mean when you share with us, I feel that you’re one of us – you’re much more creative, but one of us.

    Hi Becca,
I think you must have been a professional paper engineer once upon a time! You have an amazing ability to shape, and layer paper in so many fantastic ways! When I try to create a card, either my colors don’t look right, or my layers are working against each other! After an hour or two, I usually end up putting everything in the scrap bin to use on something else. But I keep trying!

Oh Blog friends!  I’m in heaven.  I just got some new rubber from Quietfire and I’m a happy, happy camper.   I paired these two heart tuggers up for a quick and sweet giftlet.  Hmmmm….I think I made that word up but you get the gist.   They were easy to make, in less than an hour, and very inexpensive  . . . yup, giftlet!!   Both go off to a sweet little friend of mine.  It’s always nice to have a little one that you can get away with making things for, but they could just as easily end up on her mom’s desk.  The newest Quietfire addition is the Piglet Sidled Up To Pooh sentiment.  I also used the Sometimes Said Pooh sentiment, which I’ve reached for many times over the last year, for many occasions.

Here’s the low down.  I knew the Piglet Sidled Up to Pooh sentiment was coming, so I purchased these two frames at Michaels in anticipation of the new rubber, and of course during a sale.   To make these, I wrapped 7/8″ ribbon around the photo mats that came with the frame, securing them with tape.  (Just a note:  7/8″ ribbon was perfect for these frames, but I knew I would have to experiment around  –  once I wrapped without taping and the ribbon met – edge to edge – I knew I had the right ribbon.)  Lastly, I added some foam tape for a little bit of depth, a quick peg bow and a flower.

Hello, can you see me the next time I don’t have a birthday present and need to pull something together quick, lol?

Are they cute?  This took virtually no thought, which I might add is working for me well today since I’ve got my mind wrapped around some other things.   I appreciate you all and hope you are having a delightful day!
