Okay, so I’m totally intrigued with the poll thing.  It was torture waiting all week to put up a new one, LOL!!  I’m finding the program that I’m using has some glitches or I’m not quite used to it, so I’m flying by the seat of my pants on this one.   I’m sending out a notice because unless you look closely, you probably wouldn’t know that a new poll is up.  Come on by and add your vote. Don’t forget, if there is a poll you’d like to see about crafting, (and it doesn’t necessarily have to be about Amazing Paper Grace) email me — I received some really fab suggestions this week and am adding them to my list).

I’ll be back with a card in the morning :-)

Hi Becca as Barbara Jay said I also adore everything you do from your amzing works of art right down to your new polls…. but I just love elegant and classy which is what I think about all your beautiful designs anyway. Have voted.

Wow hard to say as this is my very favorite blog and love everything about it ! Maybe a poll about how stampers feel about sharing printable verses original or otherwise ?ReplyCancel

  • Christy HawkinsMarch 14, 2011 - 6:18 am

Ditto, ditto…everyone loves everything you do! I like that you are a real stamper…not a lot of computer generated stuff or stickers, etc. I love to use my stamps in artistic ways, and you are wonderful to COPY!! I especially love the way you make the sentiment the focal point of a card. The Becca Bits are, like you, amazing! I headed out to Hobby Lobby to get one of those quilling tools so I can make those little flowers with the Spellbinders. My only problem is that no matter how many times I try to imitate your bow method, mine still don’t look like yours! That’s okay. I did like your tricky little tool with the dowels. Excellent idea for the less digitally gifted.
Thanks for making my day more fun every time I see the “Feedblitz” in my mail box!ReplyCancel

How about a poll where you give us some of your clever (& I know you have a ton) ways to save money & still create a beautiful card, 3D, other craft item. Sometimes it can be a shock when one realizes how much money it can cost for our craft. Besides coupon’s what are your best tricks & clever secrets. I am new to your site Becca, but love everything you send. I love your style, class, giving character, & your God given talents. You are a child of God, and it shows in all you do. JoReplyCancel

I went with the ‘Holtzy’ but also wanted to add the CAS and the Classy. Thank you for all the inspiration you provide. When I grow up, I want to be just like you! teehee. I’d like to know see a poll on how people store rubberstamps that are still on wood blocks…I know a lot of people have converted theirs to not be that way anymore…but for those of us who have NOT made the switch…face up? or face down? or stand up on wooden edge? in plastic box? on a shelf? or what?…also, how long to you hold on to a stamp? eventually they do wear out…right? or the rubber goes bad? been stamping for years off and on…but a lot in the past year or so…Thanks so much for all of your ideas and tutorials…ReplyCancel

Hi Becca- I can’t see your poll, but I’d also like to know how people store their wooden block stamps. Thank you for your endless creativity and projects, you are such an inspiration.ReplyCancel

Hi there, while I’m making a little gift this morning I thought I would share this half cut technique (I also call it partial cutting) that many of you have asked how I accomplished. It’s easy and the bag can be made in less than an hour.  My bag is larger than 6″ but this is a scalable technique, so you can use it with both larger and smaller die templates.   Have a look at my video to see how!

Add your favorite flower, learn how to make the matching center with the Becca Bit called Frugal Decorative Pearl Flower Center.

My flower measures roughly three inches in diameter so I needed to make a bigger bow to extend beyond the edges. I pulled out my trusty peg bow maker and made a triple layer 4″ peg bow.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: None
Paper: K & Company
Ink: None
Accessories: Spellbinders Grand Labels One, Spellbinders Grand Circles, Spellbinders Foliage

ETA:  The strip of paper that I use in the video is 3″ x 12″ but feel free to alter the depth depending on how big of an item you need your bag to accommodate!

Hope you are having a fabulous day!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

What a great idea and another great use for those super-ginormous dies by Spellbinder!ReplyCancel

Really!!  It honestly doesn’t get any easier than this, lol!  I have less than an hour invested in this card but I’m pleased as punch.  You see, one of my Quietfire Design team mates is hosting a challenge over on Two Peas and I was fretting about whether I would have time enough to enter.  So, I’m checking it off my list :-)  I absolutely love this sentiment!!  No telling why I went with the red and white other than I love them and to me it makes the card jump out at you.
By the way, if you have some sweet sentiments you’d like to show off, head on over here to check out the rules for this ultra simple challenge in the Winterfest 2011 and give it a whirl!!

I’m under the gun to get some cards out in the mail, so I’ve decided that this will be the format for my mailing, er..um..minus the gems, lol!  I love it when a plan comes together.  Speaking of plan, I hope yours includes some me time or craft time!!

HOW IT’S MADE

1. Make Card Base – mine is 5″ x 6.5″
2. Cut paper 4.25″ x 5.5″ and emboss.
3.
Stamp sentiment and adhere to a slightly larger mat with foam tape.
4. Tie Ribbon, adhere focal panel to base using foam tape.
5. Adhere a gem to each embossed line intersection. (80) and 1 pearl at center.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – To Create Is to Touch
Paper: Strathmore Acrylic
Ink: Colorbox Pigment Ink – Cranberry
Accessories:  Satin Ribbon, Pearl, Ruby Gems, Clear Embossing Powder. Sizzix Embossing Plate – Thank You Set #5

Be sweet and enjoy your day!!

lovely, Becca! I do have a question for you. Your page design and colors are lovely, but I cannot see the writing in pale print and am searching for the place to find older posts. I don’t get to log on very often but don’t want to miss any of your cards, so love to look back through older posts. Where am I missing this “older posts” place? Thanks!ReplyCancel

Becca, have you tried the new Jewel Dazzles from Hot Off the Press? They are stickers that look like jewels when adhered to a card but without the bulk. I just love them, aince I mail most of my cards & the bulk of jewels is too expensive to mail.ReplyCancel

I enjoy the card fronts. My problem is with what to do with the inside many times. The front of the cards are so wonderful, I feel like the inside is lame.

Could you show examples of the inside of the cards?

    Thanks.ReplyCancel
