For me, like everyone else, this year has been a journey — an unexpected journey.  I’ve been very quiet because it didn’t seem right to talk about my little challenges while everyone else was having such big challenges.  This is a good chapter for me.  I’ve been adrift since 2018 with nowhere to call home.  I’m happy to say that I’m finally going home.  You’ve been with me this far!  I hope you stay with me on this next phase of the journey.  Thank you so much to my long-time readers.  I’m sending you a hug.  Let me know you’re still there.

Amazing Paper Grace May 2021 Die of the Month - Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37147
Gift cards are my thing.  True Story!  I love to sent them to someone I know is going through a hard time and quite often I send them to say thank you.  Well, I’ve found that the Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate, which is one of the Spellbinders Club offerings for May 2021 by Amazing Paper Grace, makes the perfect gift card caddy.  Score!

Some links may be affiliate links, buying products through these links generates a commission at no cost to you.

Welcome to the May 2021 Spellbinders Clubs Blog Hop.  You have arrived here from the Spellbinders Blog and after visiting me here, Tina Smith is next on the list.  Her links are at the bottom of the post as well.  Be sure to stay for Giveaway details and if you don’t mind, please leave some love for all the fabulous people on the blog hop.  I’m honored to hop with this group of superstars and love what everyone does to keep long form blogs alive.

If this is your first visit, I’m Becca Feeken and I’m a Licensed Designer with Spellbinders.  The Garden Gate is my design and I’m tickled to share it with you today.  I have the lovely opportunity of putting a design in each month for one of the fabulous Spellbinders Clubs and I try to create something not seen in the market, something that is a joy to create, something that shows the care and love you put into your creation and something that is a joy to receive in the mailbox.

Amazing Paper Grace May 2021 Die of the Month - Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37147
The Garden Gate die set makes a card A7 and the Gate component makes a card that is A2 sized.  Of course, I frequently use the set to make boxes or other 3D items – you can see some other samples on my introduction of  the Garden Gate.  For my card today I’ve simply mounted the entire Garden Gate onto a card front for a display card that someone can keep on their desk.  It has a gift card for Starbucks for someone who helped me out this past week.  I have two more of these to make – as part of a Thank You Card – for two ladies who were invaluable to me recently.  Wouldn’t this be great for business cards?

Gorgeous cards! I love these die sets, but I’ll admit I feel a little intimidated using them. I will try to copy your examples… hopefully they turn out nice.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card & release. Nothing says Spring like a garden gate & flowers. Loving the layers and very clever to use the dimension as a card holder. Well done.ReplyCancel

Amazing Paper Grace May 2021 Die of the Month - Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate - detailed information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=37118
The charm of the garden and the sweetness of winding vines and flowers are the inspiration for our blog hop this month.  This month we invite you to take an idyllic stroll to a place of beauty. It calls and beckons to you, to come and sit down and enjoy your surroundings and all of the nature around you. I’m showcasing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for May 2021 called Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate.

This A7 showpiece folds flat into an envelope, only to expand and sit on a desktop where it invites the lucky recipient to take a stroll through the Garden Gate. As always, this die is meant to break apart and use the dies separately. The elements are less than 4″ wide and are begging you to use them on an A2 card. You’ll love the charming details – hinges, a hook lock, and a swinging sign to print your message.

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create a flat card or box:

1. The picket fence for a gatefold card (hint the gate really opens).
2. The Arches for a wedding.
3. The flowers and vines are curved to fit the arch but also make a wreath.
4. A picket fence box and the arches for handles.

Inviting you to plan your own garden. Just know you are in a place of peace and beauty when you come in through the Garden Gate.

My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate is a Mother’s Day Ensemble with a card and a spacious basket!  I created the card using a half oval.  The basket is four picket fence panels with a strip glued to make a hinge.  For the bottom, I enclosed a box bottom that is a mere 1/4″ high.  I didn’t want it to take away from the pickets.

Designer Tip:  It’s simple to mirror your fronds placing one right side up and placing one wrong side up.  It creates the symmetry your eye is looking for and people will never notice the wrong side of double sided paper.
