Greetings Blog Friends!!  I’ve been stamping away – I even have a card ready for tomorrow as I was able to carve out a chunk of time to sit down and create.  I’m in the middle of a couple of different things, but I set them aside because my mind kept going back to all the possibilities with this stamp.  So here’s the deal – this is a simple background stamp that I employed to do all the heavy lifting!!   This is one of the new JustRite Papercraft releases; it’s the Fleuriste Newsprint Background.  I can just see using bits and pieces of this background and instead of use it flat (this time) I decided to stamp twice and cut my second copy of the top part of the stamp with Spellbinders™ Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents – a perfect fit!!  I then backed my panel with Spellbinders™ Beaded Ovals and the wonderful scroll accent from Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.  I love how the background “makes” the card and there were lots of possibilities for dimension!

I smudged the edges of my main panel and die cut outs with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink for an aged appearance.

I used another tiny accent from the Twisted Metal Tags and Accents set and stamped the word Blessings from JustRite Papercrafts Vintage Rose Medallions set.  Lastly I laid in a swirl of Zva Creative Pearls which I colored a pale orchid with one of my copic markers.  Did I mention I love this stamp?  I have a box on my list with this one too :-)

Good morning sweet blog friends?  Remember the new stamps I mentioned that were on the table?  This is one that floated to the top just begging me to play with.
Wouldn’t it be precious as a sewing journal or a box that holds spools of thread?  It’s a sweet vintage background stamp from JustRite Papercrafts called Grandma’s Attic Background Stamp and that wonderful, wonderful sentiment comes from the Vintage Rose Medallions set.  I have a million ideas for this stamp and today my muse steered me towards a card. Hmmmm…those might have to jump up a little bit on my to do list.  Since the background is the focal point, I tried to think of a way not to cover to the image and I came up with this format.  Wanting a 6″ x 6″ card (actually this one is more like 6 1/4″ square), I stamped the background image, cut through it with Spellbinders™ Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.  I stamped another image, cut with the same Scalloped die template then trimmed off the right side to get the correct width.  I then took my seam binding and divided a 18″ piece in half and criss-cross threaded it beginning with the center at the bottom, and ending by tying a bow at the top – it reminds me of a laced up corset :-).  Because the card is so large to start with, I wanted a teeny tiny border to put around the edge for some contrast.  Using the bottom of the border from Spellbinders™ Persian Accents I faced the tiny scallop side outward on each edge.

For the sentiment I used Spellbinders™ Nested Pennants; I stamped the inside of the die template with my Chestnut Roan chalk ink before laying my paper on top and running it through my die cut machine, that gives that wonderful pop of color border to the pendant.  I finished up by cutting apart some lace and using a single motif under each single wooden button.  I just love those Prima buttons – they sure help me out with the theme of my card!

I hope you have a very special weekend planned.  Just like the sentiment of my card today, I have a grateful heart for each new day and I’m especially grateful for the time you took to stop by today.  Smooches – I’m working in the background on some things you all asked for!!

Hi there blog friends, where have I been?  I know, right!!  My blog has an owie that I’ve been trying to fix.  For now I’m going to leave it stand – it’s really nothing you can see but something off kilter in the background.  I think that if I come back to it with fresh eyes I’ll have better luck.  In the meantime a card to share, because I have a table full of new stamps that are absolutely calling my name and because I’ve missed you all!!  What a way to celebrate spring but with new Quietfire Design stamps!!  This wonderful design is from the Garden Delights set (of eight stamps) and  was crafted to fit Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals, so that’s what I used to show it off – I cut two (one mauve and one tan) and simply trimmed out the oval using the piercing dots as a guide!!  I stacked it on Spellbinders™ Labels Seventeen and layered it on top of a panel embossed with Spellbinders™ Whimsy M-Bossabilities.  The center piece is a sticker from K & Company.

I hope you’re having a fab week and a wonderful stroll into spring!!  I am :-)

Becca, Missed you, but knew all the time that you were busy, had Easter, and was just hoping that you were enjoying some down time. The card, as always – is so lovely. I never know how to make stickers look so gorgeous as you did. Thanks for sharing a beautiful creation, good luck with the blog fixing. So frustrating. But you’ll meet the challenge. Hope your Easter was wonderful. HugsReplyCancel

Thank goodness you are back! I had started having “mother” thoughts; imagining you unconscious by the side of the road or in the hospital with amnesia. (Did you ever have “mother” thoughts like that?) At other times, I thought you might be gallavanting around and having a good time without US!! How I missed you! And it appears I am not alone. Don’t ever think it is your design talent alone that keeps us coming back. Your spirit shines through your art and we like what we see, Becca. You are back and creating things as gorgeous as ever!! Happy, happy, happy!ReplyCancel
