Who doesn’t smile when they get flowers.  Today we’re giving you a way to present a bouquet to whomever your heart desires.  The January Die of the Month is a Pop Up 3D Vignette Bouquet.  It’s one of those show stopper pieces that folds down flat to fit into an envelope but it’s right at home living on a desk.

Even if 3D is not your thing, these beauties can also be used on flat cards and just in time for Valentine’s Day.  A bouquet of flowers or a bouquet of hearts – what’s your sweetheart getting this year?   Your panel can be decorative, textured or simply a sentiment.Today I’m sharing one of the many bouquets I made.  It’s always so fun to see how they pop up and how the colors play together.  I picture those same stems in a mason jar or in a flat paper sleeved bouquet on a flat card.

In the meantime, Hi there Gracelets!!  I hope that by now you’ve seen the newest die of the month, it’s one of my favorites and I’ve waited a long time to show you. You know I’m all about “showcase” and “keepsake” projects that peeps will leave on display.  My daughter doesn’t know this but I monitor which cards she leaves out and those that get tucked away for a rainy memory day.  Well, my research shows that flat cards get tucked into boxes and showcase cards of the 3D variety usually find their way into her bookcase or are prominently shown on her desk or a ledge.  I design with that in mind so voila, here is the Pop Up 3D Vignette Bouquet.

Inspiration for Pop Up 3D Vignette Bouquet

I’ve always loved the idea of the vignettes and them folding flat whenever needed.  For our Die of the Month Tribe, I really wanted something not quite as big as a full vignette but just as impactful.  I put on my thinking cap and decided I could do something smaller that wasn’t encased in a frame and that’s really how the bouquet concept rolled around.  It is quite the coincidence that it rolled around just in time for Valentine’s Day.  No, but seriously, I can see the bouquet for weddings, anniversary, new baby, birthday and almost every other occasion we send cards for.  Plus you can pull the pieces apart and use them individually for flat cards.

There are two videos to show you how to work with Pop Up 3D Vignette Bouquet.  Click on the first video to learn how the dies assemble.  Finally, the second video is more in-depth.  It will show you A to Z of how to make a full bouquet of flowers.  I encourage you to watch both!

********************************************************************************************************************

It’s been an amazing year with new challenges, new friends and in many ways a new me.  I’m so blessed to be a part of this huge giving community.  Part of the strength I draw on every day is living vicariously through the tribe I’ve come to know.  I’m a huge believer in leaving a mark – that means daily giving, documenting and making tangible gifts and cards for friends and loved ones.  There’s no better way to do that than to be a maker and giver.  This is my first year participating in the Seasons Giving Blog Hop although I’ve surfed it for the last seven.  I’m tickled to be here.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting this vibrant community.

Sit back with a cup of coffee because there are tons of giveaways for this years Seasons Giving Hop.  My giveaway for today was graciously donated by Spellbinders Paper Arts and I’ll explain what it is at the bottom of my post.  Also at the bottom of my post, I’ve also included the names and links of all who are participating.

post-header-bottom

My name is Becca Feeken and I’m a passionate die designer; I create dies for Spellbinders Paper Arts.  I love sharing and talking and encouraging other crafters, I consider it therapy.  It’s still a dream to be a designer and I love to create the unique dies I’m hankering to work with but haven’t found yet on the market; so I create them :-)  I’m sharing my 2 favorite projects I made this year – a Christmas mini-album made with my newest collection.  One of my goals for 2018 was to create legacy gifts and mementos that I could be left out to remind me what a lovely year it was. I’m also sharing a card from my Die of the Month Series :-)

My mini album is made with my 3D Vignette Mini-Album Collection and all of the elements also work with 3D Vignettes. The dies on this project are currently at major retailers like Scrapbook.com and will be available starting January 10th, 2020.  This particular album is made using the Universal Spine, Decorative Spines and Edges, Woven Trellis Side Pocket and Grand Vaulted Cabinet .

This has ended up being my favorite project this year because I’ve always wanted to dabble a bit in scrapbooking but the truth is, I’m a cardmaker that likes to keep mementos.  3D Vignette Mini-Albums does that in an achievable 6 “card-sized” pages.  I found that because this size is closest to the size cards I make, that I’m more inclined to fill the album with pictures of the season.  On the left side of each page spread, I tucked a large pocket to keep mini books and other memories.

This is one of the easiest cards I’ve ever made and one of my favorites for the year.   Pink, cream, and tan – it doesn’t take much to please me and this covered all the bases.  It was made with the APG September Die of the Month, Snip It Flowers.   Be good to yourself this coming year.  Be sure to go back and celebrate your creative successes and celebrate those things that stoked a fire in your creative soul.  It’s really okay to love what you do and encourage yourself to do more.

Did Someone Say A Seasons Giving Giveaway?

The giveaway I’m hosting is a Spellbinders Glimmer Machine that was graciously donated by Spellbinders Paper Arts.  What is a Glimmer Machine?  In conjunction with your die-cutting machine and the heated based of the Glimmer Machine, you are able to transfer foil to many substrates.  Foiling is really a game-changer and the glimmer machine is one of my favorite toys.  It’s a bit addictive and I’m tickled to be offering it.

Happy New Year Becca! I am always inspired by your beautiful pieces of art and look forward to following thru another year!

I am trying to be thankful for 2019 because my beautiful daughter got married for the first (and only!) time at age 48 to a wonderful man who had also never been married! I am truly thankful for her and this wonderful man God brought into her life!

I have to admit that except for the lovely wedding, I am not sorry to see the end of 2019. My amazing Mother passed away in February. Two days before, my brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He passed away in September and his wife of 47 years was diagnosed with breast cancer two days before Christmas! I miss my Mother and brother so much as we have always been a close family.

I am also thankful for my faith in Jesus because I know I could not have made it through 2019 without Him. Blessings to you for 2020!ReplyCancel

Happy New Year Becca. I wish you blessings for the year ahead.
I am most grateful this holiday season for our children and grandchildren all being together with us as a complete family for the first time in a few years, for the love and gifts I received from family and friends, and that the families all returned to their homes safely. I am truly grateful for what I have achieved in life, grateful for surviving cancer in 2012 and most of all very grateful for my faith. Without faith, life for me would be a struggle. Some of our states are suffering horrific fires at this time and for the past 2 mornings I have been making my 5 of my grandchildren sit and watch the images on TV and telling them they must be grateful for what they have, a home, and a family that loves them. Then this morning I opened your email and here was the word GRATEFUL. Thank you for your beautiful cards and dies and inspirations, I look forward to your regular emails.ReplyCancel

It may sound corny but what I grateful is that God is always there even when we are sure he is not and for the lessons he has taught me (even if I am reluctant). Oh Becca, I have been toying with the idea of purchasing a Glimmer machine as your results are stunning. However, this year we have moved twice, from NJ to TX and again within TX. Very strenuous to pack and unpack…put on the brakes…total hip replacement two weeks at the new house, everything stopped. As I have time for recovery and contemplation and as the pain subsides, my thoughts go back to the beginning of this journey in NJ. Everything that has happened was divinely controlled. It would take too long to enumerate, but my whole body, soul and spirit are grateful for GOD who has orchestrated my life. My focus has now been changed to focusing on creating something beautiful in HIS name. Thank you for being you and encouraging your followers to be creative. Your talent and samples make me drool. Love and hugs,SaraReplyCancel

I’m grateful for, that we in our little family are alowed to say to Jesus:”You got this!!” -and when we’re having troubles believing and trusting this, He still “got this” – and will help us look into His eyes instead of looking at the storm around us. We need that so much.

This was a beautiful Christmas season for our family. My husband has been sick for over a year and was finally feeling better by the week of Christmas and enjoying celebrating the season. It was a blessing to have our children and grandchildren under our roof and be together at a time when so many families are scattered or torn apart. We may not have a lot but we had a warm home and plenty of food and laughter. I feel blessed!
