Becca — you are absolutely amazing. I love it when you think of different uses for Spellbinders dies. If you haven’t sent this into the company yet, I think you should do so right away! I would have only thought of flower pots and decided that I probably wouldn’t use the die too much. You have certainly convinced me otherwise.
I love your frugal tip about the file folders too. I haven’t ever seen them in Canada at that price, but I’ll keep looking!ReplyCancel

What a great idea. But…I go to spellbinders.com – can’t find a flower pot die. I go to Michaels.com can’t find paper bags or file folders. Where in the world do you get the die? My Michaels, Joanns and Hobby Lobby have absolutely NO stock on these dies. What they do have is old ones. Never seem to get the new things. HELP!!! If spellbinders doesn’t have it on their website where do you get it? I get so frustrated when I see all these wonderful ideas that a lot of you crafters show and then I can’t find the items to make it. Again…HELP.
Thanks…guess I just had to vent. :)ReplyCancel

    Hello Becca,
I have learned so much from you. When you look at a die, or packaging in the $1 bin, how on earth do you match them together, and figure out how to make them work by adding gussets? How do you do that? I never get those “Aha” moments. It’s just mind boggling, simply amazing, “Amazing Paper Grace”, a perfect name.
    Hugs to you Becca!ReplyCancel

Hey there Blog Friends!! I have a small card to share with you today using again some of the new Spellbinders that I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to play with. If you tire of this, please let me know (*wink*). I actually detoured and didn’t create what I had sketched out and planned for today and instead played with this sweet little flower. I guess what stood out to me is that it is different from all the other flowers I’ve seen. There’s an extra cut in the leaves that allows you to curl up, curl down or just manipulate them a little differently. I wanted double sided cardstock to play with so I simply adhered and distressed old book pages on the back. That way when curling, I could get either the print or the solid.

I’m using stamps from this months release over at Our Daily Bread Designs.  This one is called Not Forgotten.  When you see the set, you are more inclined, I think, to make a patriotic card.  I find though, that the sentiments can be used for many more occasions :-)  I picked up that new postage stamp that I love and cut a big frame, distressing it on the inside and out.  I also cut borders on the bottom with the new Edgeabilities – I don’t think it has hit me yet the numbers of combinations I can get.  It’s awesome because I get the look I have on the bottom of my card from one pass!  (It’s the little things, right?)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread DesignsNot Forgotten
Paper: Crafty Secrets Vintage Patterns CD, Bazzill, The Paper Company
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:
Spellbinders S4-348 Postage Stamps, Spellbinders Edgeabilities – E8-001 (Classic Scallop), Spellbinders Edgeabilities – E8-003 (Triple Scallop), Spellbinders Classic Squares Large, Pearls, Lace, Pearl Picks

The rain shut me down yesterday when I had tons of errands to run . . . I’m going to see how far I can get today :-)  I’m thankful anyway, because we need it!  Have a blessed day friends!!

I am not trying to rub it in, but we are really having some wonderful sunny, mid 70’s weather this week. I have a couple of home projects I am in the middle of or I would definitely be out in the garden.

I don’t think these cards are going to be around long enough to worry about that but my daughter gets freaked if it isn’t acid-free… BTW, I love seeing your pins up close so I can get ideas for my pins! I made your pin cushion but what I used was a Christmas ornament that looked like a fancy victorian oval framed mirror. Now it hangs on the wall holding all my fancy pins for cards and such. I am loving what everyone is doing with the new spellbinder dies.Thought I should say – I made your birdcage pop up card ( and showed my mum how – shes made three but needs my die to make more). I had to adapt it slightly because I have a Tim Holtz birdcage die ( or shouldn’t I say that) – it takes a little bit more time but same stunning result.Anyone can do it and your step by step instructions break it down into wonderfully achievable chunks.I willl have to give that lotus flower ago.Keep creating – we love it.

I could not wait, I could not wait, I could not wait to get my hands on this set of dies.  Can I say that this is one of my fav’s and I think it will be one of yours too!!  Sigh . . . it just oozes with elegance and oh, the possibilities.  I knew my first stab would be something vintage looking and something to do with a flower.  What I’ve done here essentially is created a flower cup to seat a bloom in using Spellbinders S5-059 Ironworks Motifs.    This template works just as well on cards as on gift items (I’m working on my post for tomorrow which, if my crafty luck holds out, will be an ensemble using this template again).

I’m following the sketch from Mojo Monday (Mojo 199) except rotated the sketch clockwise 90 degrees.  In following the sketch I put a border on the left hand side of the card using elements from Spellbinders S5-059 Ironwork Motifs, then created that neat swag using the new Edgeabilities – E8-001 (Classic Scallop) and E8-003 (Triple Scallop).  Who knew?  I didn’t it I sat down this morning and started playing around – there are so many different combinations – I love this one.  My medallion was created using the largest element of the Motif set – I curled the edges on the first one and on the second one I interlocked the curlicues to maintain the structure of the cup.  They were then stacked together with foam tape.  I used the foam tape to add dimension and offset the layers.  I double stacked my foam tape in the cup before I nestled in that sweet flower.  What a joy to sit down and create this morning!!!  I have things waiting off in the wings to show, but since I was doing the sketch challenge I hadn’t given any forethought to what to create because you really can’t, right?!?  Pure serendipity :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs –  Large Scrapbook Words
Paper: The Paper Company, Craft Secrets Vintage Patterns CD – Digital Paper
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink, Pink Pastel
Accessories: Spellbinders S5-059 Ironwork Motifs,
Spellbinders Edgeabilities – E8-001 (Classic Scallop), Spellbinders Edgeabilities – E8-003 (Triple Scallop)
Note: Many of you emailed to ask where you can get these new die templates. They will be available on the Spellbinders website on July 19th and will be shipping at the end of August!

Happy Monday sweet friends!!  I hope you have an amazing week!

Love this Becca and I’m with you, this is such a great die set. I love how it is so versatile. Lacey and soft (as shown on your card today), or rugged wrought iron used on an altered project. It is definitely on my must have list and that list just keeps getting longer. Really great sets in this new release. Will be fun to work with them. I recognize the paper !!!! hee hee.
