Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Rose Bouquet and Spellbinders
Good morning sweet friends, I hope today is shaping up to be a glorious day for you.  I have a quick card to share today from pieces and parts that were hanging out on my desk – kind of like a grab bag card.  I love the beautiful floral image from JustRite Rose Bouquet Vintage Labels Seven so it seemed perfect for a feminine card.   The card is built up with Spellbinders 5 x 7 Elegant Labels Four, Spellbinders Majestic Circles and Vintage Labels Seven.  Since the rose bouquet image was the focal image for my card, I hung my tiny sentiment off of a tag – Spellbinders Back to Basics Tags.

WRBF-4344-2014
Here’s how I made it – step by step:

Start out with a card base that measures 5-1/2″ wide – 6″ tall.  Cut a panel 5-1/8″ x 5-5/8″ and mat with a panel slightly larger; attach ribbon and adhere  panel to card base.  Next cut/emboss Elegant Labels Four (mine is cut and reassembled across the bottom to make a more compact card – simply cut apart and tape together – no worries, your ribbon will hide the cut) – adhere with double layer of foam tape.  Cut/emboss Majestic Circles and adhere with a layer of foam tape.  Cut/emboss Vintage Labels Seven, stamp and color then adhere with foam tape. Cut/emboss tag from Back to Basics tag and stamp with sentiment.  Attach bow, hang sentiment, add pearls.

    Good afternoon Becca,
This is stunning. My bits and bobs on my desk are nothing like yours!! There’s scribbled notes, three pairs of scissors, tweezers, craft knife and bits of card with pieces cut out. Even you would be hard pressed to produce anything of note out of that lot.
BUT I’m going to put everything in its proper place and start to craft.
I have done my version of your Crystal Angel card and was so pleased with it that I did another in different colours and one will be going to each of my grandchildren who are 7 and 10. They will be thrilled with them as I will tell them they are their Guardian Angel cards.

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Holly Garlands and Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles
Good morning sweet friends!  I hope you’re having a magnificent day.  Today I’m sharing I card that I thought would never make it to the finish line.  Yes, I have those days :-)   This card has gone through so many changes over the last two days, that it doesn’t even resemble what I started out with, but I’m so glad I finished it.  Originally stamping the background in green with green ribbon, my camera freaked out and there was no way to make it work – it glowed like Kryptonite.  Lol, I think this card was photographed more than my youngest child (is that sad or what?)  At any rate, sometimes after a trashcan moment, there is a spark of serendipity.  Originally I had a flower inside my card ornament and then I remembered I had these sweet crystal angels that I’ve been dying to use.  Other than the color/embellishment struggle, this is really an easy card that is 99% die cuts.

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite and Spellbinders
Here’s how I made it – step by step:

The top of the card uses Spellbinders Venetian Motifs to make what I call a half flat ornament – and rather than explain step by step how to do that part you can see my older card HERE and the step by step with pictures that I posted HERE (instead of gluing closed, simply glue to card).  I created a card base using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and you can read how I construct my hinged filigree card bases HERE.  I stamped with JustRite Holly Garlands Background and cut into a panel using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics A #3, for the red pop matted color I cut a panel to 3-1/8″ x 5-1/8″.  Next I added ribbon, crystals, flowers and stamped then cut the tag from JustRite Applique Christmas Labels One.  The crystal angel (from Joann’s) was threaded on to a headpin and a loop made at the top to which I added a jump ring and chain.  At the top of the chain is another jump ring.  I simply took a pearl brad and put the brad through the top jump ring then through a hole at the top of the die to secure it.  If the recipient wants to use the Angel for something, all they have to do is remove the brad and voila!!   The card does flatten out so that it can be mailed, but I would put it into one of the little DVD boxes like I showed you HERE.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite PapercraftJustRite Holly Garlands Background, JustRite Applique Christmas Labels One
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80 lb, PTI Red

Thanks as always to my wonderful, wonderful readers.  I feel like I’ve know you all forever!  I’ll see you soon!!

Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Sculpted Leaves Background and Vintage Labels Seven
Good morning friends!  It’s true, I’m on a gold and cream kick, but I have to admit that gold embossing powder simply makes this stamped background sing!!   I’m using Sculpted Leaves Background Stamp and was inspired to make an aperture card  since I haven’t done one in a while!  The inside of the aperture is lined using Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five.  I’ve added a couple of pictures to show you how I did that – it’s easy.  What started out as a plain card with two layers of gold matted panels turns into quite something else thanks to the intrigue of the aperture which is cut using Vintage Labels Seven. I decorated using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom Four and Spellbinders Foliage Flourish.  The sentiment is from JustRite Special Gifts Labels Twenty Nine that is layered on Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two.  I have a wedding congrats card to send out later this month, so I think I’ll be making a duplicate :-)

Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite and Spellbinders
Here’s how I made it – step by step:

This time working from the top down, stamp the Sculpted Leaves Background Stamp.  Trim the stamped background around the edges then adhere to a gold foil panel cut to 4-1/2″ x 5-5/8″.  Cut/emboss the aperture from both layers using Vintage Labels Seven.  Cut a cream panel 4-3/4″ x 6″ and adhere to a gold panel cut to 4-7/8″ x 6-1/8″.  Taking the aperture panel you cut previously, reseat the die into the panel and center the panel over the uncut cream and gold panel.  Trace on the inside of the die with a pencil so that you have a guide where to cut then remove die and set this panel aside.  Cut/emboss an aperture from the gold/cream layers using your pencil marks for guidance.  Construct a card base 5-1/2 x 7″.  Taking the first aperture panel you cut, reseat the die into the panel and center the panel over card base and trace the inside of the die with a pencil.  Remove the die and set the panel aside.  Cut/emboss an aperture into the upper layer only of the card base using the pencil marks for guidance.  Assemble by stacking the larger cream/gold panel onto the card base using one layer of foam tape.  Next tape the pieces of Majestic Labels Twenty Five to the back of the opening of the smaller cream/gold panel so the filigree shows .  Stack on top of the larger cream/gold panel adhering with one layer of foam tape.  Add Foliage Flourish and Spiral Blossom Four on the front of the card for embellishment with a few pearls.  For the inside, cut/emboss Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two – smaller motif.  Stamp sentiment, add ribbon and adhere to a panel 3-3/4″ x 6″ .

Simply sensational. Your cards are always so elegant and beautiful but I must admit that using the gold embossing powder and gold panels adds an element of sophistication to the card. You continue to amaze me with your wonderful creations.ReplyCancel

All I can say is, “Wow!” You hit this one out do the ball park. I love the gold edged flowers, and would love to know what brand of embossing powder you use. Mine is a little grainy looking, even with a lot of verse mark ink. Thanks for another stunning card.ReplyCancel

    Good evening Becca,
I’ve seen you make some beautiful cards but this is exceptional, I think you are on to a winner for a wedding card as well.
I have a few good friends, but one in particular that this verse would apply to and whom I would trust completely. We have been friends for over 50 years when we met at work, and still meet every week for coffee. She is such a good friend.
Thank you Becca, for reminding me of what a good friend she is.
    Love xxReplyCancel

You have outdone yourself! This card is magical!!! My MUST HAVE list just grew because I have to have the JustRite sentiments stamp set, the Romantic Rectangles and the Sculpted Leaves background stamp!! Spelllbinders and JustRite should pay you for advertising for them! LOL
You probably cost a lot of us a good share of our craft budget every month just getting the dies so we can try to recreate your cards!!
    TFS!ReplyCancel
