I made this card to send off for a dear friend that recently sent out a plea for help.   I hope she is reading so that she can see the card I’ll be sending to her mother. She has just been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to find something boldy optimistic.   I will definitely be praying for her and I hope the words will give her some strength.  I’ve pulled together some scripture to tuck inside with my handwritten note.

The card is fairly straight forward.  This is the coolest paper!! The design paper has sparkly polka dots and the other deep pink piece of paper has holes in it!

ETA:  Some have asked where to get this stamp.  I purchased at Hobby Lobby however I have seen it online HERE.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Paper Inspirations – Survivor Calligraphy
Paper:  Making Memories – Sparkly Polka Dot; Creative Inspirations
Ink:   Colorbox Chalk Inks – Orchid Pastel
Accessories:  Nestabilities – Long Classic Scallop Rectangle, Prima Flowers, Dew Drop, Crystal Brad, White Brads Ribbon

Don’t forget to leave a comment for blog candy on this post sometime before noon CST on Saturday, 10/18/08!!

Hi, Becca.. This is a gorgeous cad, and I’m sure your friend’s mother will appreciate it.

I hope she knows that cancer is not always a killer. I have had breast cancer twice in the past seven years and had a double mastectomy, and the first time, it took nine months to get the doctors to agree there was something wrong. No, the surgery and treatment have not been pleasant experiences, but now my prognosis is excellent. It is not going to kill me.

It’s not great news, but I hope your friend’s mother knows that a diagnosis is not necessarily a death sentence. It is just the beginning of the fight.

I pray that she will have the support she needs to help her get through this to the other side.

    Hugs,
    Chris xxReplyCancel

A prayer for a complete recovery for your friend’s mother going up right now. I know that the card will bless her, but even more, she will find great comfort and strength in the scriptures enclosed in your card. May God bless her, strengthen her, gird her for the battle ahead, and fill her with great faith, courage, and hope.

Your card is really beautiful Becca- outside and inside.

I’m back with a quick and simple card today.  I am so infatuated with fall and this card has some of those colors that I see as the seasons turn.  The image is watercolored with SU reinkers but otherwise really needs no explanation.

I love this little pumpkin; I’ve had it forever but have never stamped it.   Well not only am I happy I inked another lonely stamp out of my stamp closet, I’m happy I got to stamp it while it is still fall!  Hey, it sure doesn’t take much to make me happy.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Stampendous
Paper:  Bazzill, DP from Becca’s Stash
Ink:  Versamark and black embossing powder, SU Close to Cocoa, SU Mellow Moss, SU Creamy Caramel, SU So Saffron, SU Only Orange
Accessories:   Nestabilities, Ribbon, MS Border Punch, Big Brads

Card Size:  6" x 6"

It’s all good.  Glad to hear your smiling face when I read your comments!

I’m so happy to be able to share a sneak peak of a new set that will be available through Our Daily Bread Designs for the next big release on Wednesday, October 1st!   This set is huge with three images and four sentiments.  How divine are those Wise Men?  They colored up easily and I see so many possibilities with them.

To make the card I watercolored the Wisemen and airbrushed in the background and moon with the Copic Airbrush System.  The star is embossed with gold and an additional star embossed, watercolored and popped up over the original.  A border added with a Corner Adorner and a Cuttlebug diecut embellishes the sentiment which is cut from a rectangle Nestability.   A large bow embellished with a pearl pin and several beads balances the bottom of the card.

This card is huge measuring 6" wide by 8.5" tall – it can be mailed in a ready-made catalog envelope.  I wanted plenty of room to be able to play with the Wisemen image, but it would not be difficult to use the same image in a small standard size card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps:  We Three Kings Set – Our Daily Bread Designs available October 1
Paper:  Fabriano Aquarello watercolor paper, Bazzill, Gold Foil
Ink:  Versamark, Weathered Wood Distress Ink
Accessories:  Cuttlebug diecut, Nestability rectangle, EK Success Corner Adorner, ribbon, pearl pen, gold and black embossing powder
