Today I’m sharing one of the November releases from Our Daily Bread Designs – I Wait for the Lord.  Here I’ve taken the candle image and over stamped it with one of the sentiments in the set.  I was looking for a subtle look and was trying to keep everything monochromatic for this card.

The card is simple and the main panel is rather large.  Over the main panel  I popped up two layers using my Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectangles.  Between  the two curved rectangles I sandwiched a length of ribbon then adorned with pearls and some prima flowers.

Then I decided I wanted to pair an ornament with the card.  This ornament is the Diamond Shaped Ornament showcased by Beate on the Splitcoaststampers Tutorial this week.  It went together in a cinch and was perfect to show off one of the sentiments that comes on the Worship the Lord set from Our Daily Bread Designs

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Worship the Lord, I Wait for the Lord
Paper:  Martha Stewart, The Paper Company – Blonde Columns
Ink:  Antique Linen Distress Ink, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectangles, Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Tulle, Pearls, Gold Cord

Are you taking time to enjoy the merriment of the season?  I hope you are savoring every minute.  I appreciate your stopping by – I’m working on more Christmas projects so I hope you’ll visit again soon.

I was looking at magazines at the craft store yesterday and came across one I’m sure you’re familiar with – Take Ten; it features cards made in 10 minutes.  I’m so amused by the title, I mean, I’ve always thought who can really make a card in 10 minutes.   Sheesh, ten minutes in I’m just getting started picking papers and believe me you don’t want to know how long that takes!!  It would probably be easier if I didn’t have to look through all the paper I’ve got hoarded.  Well this card is really a 10 minute card!  This card shows another of the wonderful scripture stamps found on I Wait for the Lord – a new release with Our Daily Bread Designs.

I found a clear patterned envelope in my stash and it was the inspiration for the card.  I simply cut my design paper and enclosed it in the tranparent envelope.  I sealed the envelope and layered it on two brown papers, attached a bow and another pop up panel.  The pop up panel with the sentiment  was embossed with a cream embossing powder and the top layer cut with Spellbinders Long Rectangles Large while the bottom layer was cut with Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangles Large.  The final touch was a gold clip and a gold cross dangling from a jump ring.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs  – Wait for the Lord
Paper:  Penny Black Design Paper, Creative Imaginations Clear Patterned Envelope
Ink:  Versamark and Cream Embossing Powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders Long Rectangles Large, Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangles Large, Ribbon, Clip, Cross Charm

Ten Minutes!!

Happy Sunday too all!!

Even in only 10 minutes you can turn out a beauty! Your amazing (just like your blog title says!) I am curious about the clip you used. I have seen things similar to this that require a special tool — is this clip like that? I have only seen corner clips used requiring this special setter. I have looked at the setter (although I probably couldn’t find it now if I tried) but was unsure how frequently I would use it. This clip is really pretty though. I was wondering if it is just “clipped” on or if it requires something special. Thanks Becca.ReplyCancel

  • BarbDecember 7, 2008 - 10:19 am

Beautiful! I want some of these verse stamps, and this one in particular. Isn’t it amazing how the same scripture can speak to you at different times about totally different issues in our lifes but yet… perfectly so each time. God’s amazing grace! Thanks for your beautiful blog. It truly is an inspiration.ReplyCancel

Becca!!!! Wow……so stunning and love the tonal hues. Yeah, I can make a card in about 10 minutes once I get everything picked out, stamped, colored…etc. The assembly is about it, though. I love how you used a clear pattern envelop with dp inside as the background for the front of the card. Also, love the little row of gold beads with the cross dangle. Great work!!!!!ReplyCancel

This week for Flourishes Friday we’re making it Festive Flourishes Friday and
you can join us in the fun! It’s all about the colors of Christmas-red and
green! So, grab your favorite Flourishes set and let your creativity flow!
That’s the only requirement! You don’t even have to make it a Christmas card.
If you want to play along, simply leave a comment HERE (on the Flourishes
blog) or upload your card to Splitcoast using the keyword FFFC01. Keep in
mind, we’ll be doing this fun Friday challenge all month long and there will
be a special drawing for those that play all four weeks!

I chose red to be the dominant color here and kept things clean and simple by stamping with vivid dye ink.  To create just a little bit of interest, I popped the sentiment and one of the birds up on a Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval Large and a Spellbinders Classic Oval Large.  The birds are sitting on an element from the Flourishes Flourished Elements Set, the beautiful birds are from the Flourishes Birds and Vine Set and the beautiful script sentiment is from the Flourishes Holiday Greetings set.  Both bottom edges are Martha Stewart Border punches.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – Flourished Elements, Birds and Vine, Holiday Greetings
Paper:  The Paper Company Red, 140lb Watercolor, GP White
Ink:  SU – Real Red, SU – Garden Green
Accessories:  Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval Large, Spellbinders Classic Oval Large, Ribbon, bling, Martha Stewart Border Punches

Have yourself a glorious weekend!
