Last week we encouraged you to help us usher in the new year with a card to celebrate 2009 or to celebrate something new that you just got your hands on!  We’re back for another Flourishes Challenge and this one is called New to You.  This week all the Friends of Flourishes are revealing their New to You Cards.  A lucky winner will find out very soon, in the meantime here’s the card I want to share!

Yep, I’m blinging it out in gold again.  How else to welcome in a New Year that’s sure to be golden?

For this card my base is Gold Linen Weave paper followed by gold foil and gold dotted paper from The Paper Company.  On acetate I stamped and painted the wine and champagne glass from the Flourishes – You are Invited set.  I stamped "Welcome"  from the Flourishes – Figs and Pomegranates set, and New Year 2009 from the Flourishes – Holiday Greeting set.  The sentiment and gold background are cut with Spellbinders – Labels Two die cuts.  Lastly I tied on gold ribbon and embellished with a unique wired bead found in the beading section at Michaels.

Be sure you hop around and see what the other Friends of Flourishes have done with the New to You challenge.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – You are Invited, Figs and Pomegranates, Holiday Greetings

Ink:  Versamark and gold embossing powder, Black Stazon
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Two, Pearlescent Acrylic Paint, Acetate,  Ribbon, Gold Wired Bead

Be sure to check back this afternoon some time to see who has won the blog candy!

The ad in the May June Papercrafts magazine has your card shown and it is exquisite. I knew it was you before I seen your name in the fine print. My question is: It says you used the large scalloped circle. How did you fold it to get it like that? I am so intrigued by it.

    Again, absolutely stunning!
