Dear Gracelets, today I’m introducing you to Fleur de Lis Grandeur Fold Over but first, on a personal note . . . I want to share my current journey.  Life happens, I dropped off the radar in March because I needed to move.  The Corona virus is affecting all of our lives and in my case; I had to move quickly.  I’ve not lived in my home since October 2018, when Hurricane Michael destroyed it – I’ve been sleeping on youngest daughter’s sofa in North Carolina, lol.  Since she continues to work in a job where she interacts with the public – I knew that to be safe, I had to leave.

What an adventure!

It’s been an adventure.  Moving is a grueling business and I was on my own.  I decided to replace the RV that was also destroyed in the hurricane and set out to shop for a replacement trailer that I thought I could live and work in for a while. I taught myself how to tow the travel trailer (yes it was scary) then I loaded the travel trailer with all of my studio stuff and towed it to Florida.  It’s amazing how much stuff I amassed in the last year and a half when trying to work from somewhere else.  Most of my things were ruined in the hurricane or left behind but I’ve replenished them and now have had to move them.  Fun stuff!  Then I headed back to NC to pack the remainder of my non-work stuff and then back to Florida again pulling a full U-Haul.

I’m grateful that God gives you the strength to do what you have to do when you need to do it.  I never would have imagined that I could have done this, but I did and all on my own :-)

I’m in Florida now and safe, and over time I’ll sort out what happens with my house.  In the meantime, I’ve managed to cobble together some internet connectivity that reaches my new tiny abode and today is my first time online that I haven’t had to accomplish on my phone.  Life goes on!!  My creed is to craft through it all!  So without further chit chat, I’m pleased to introduce my next Die of the Month – Fleur de Lis Grandeur Fold Over.

I’m not going to lie . . . this is a huge die, but was done deliberately, to give you so many different ways to use it.  As you know, I try to fold in as much functionality in a Die of the Month as I can because we don’t simply use one die per card.  We pull elements from our stash and use them where they make sense.

Amazing Paper Grace May 2020 Die of the Month - Fleur de Lis Grandeur Fold Over - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=36057

  • My goal with this die was to give you a card die – it’s 6″ square. . . check.
  • I wanted this die to have a folding element to inspire you to make gatefold type cards or an envelope . . . check.
  • For A2 card folks, there is a 4″ square motif that can be solid or framed . . . check.
  • This die is now my go-to for a box top – it folds over to embellish so easily . . . check.
  • Lastly,  I wanted four inlaid corners that work marvelously for embellishment . . . check.

From the tiny studio in the back of my tiny home, I pulled these samples together last week, in one day’s time.  I say that because these dies simply make themselves into projects – the ideas were flowing.

Dear Sweet Becca! I was hoping and praying that you have been safe. So sorry that you have had to leave your daughter, but am very happy that you are back “home”. You have had an adventure! I am a relief pharmacist, so I’ve had to work a lot the past month and a half. And yes Very close to the public! I started a 9 day vacation yesterday!! Becca,
I am so glad to hear that you are finally settled and glad you are back in Florida (for our one day meet up)! Am enjoying all the die of the months and your new blog. Have had a little more time to create. Had a little bout myself at the end of Jan. Now that they are doing the testing to determine if you had covid19, I am going to get tested. I tested negative for flue but even with z-pack and tamaflu was still in bed for 7 days.
I hope that everything starts going in your direction my friend and have not idea how you managed still creating the wonderful products you did during this trying time. God is good everyday!!!
    Hugs

Becca, you are so amazing and a survivor for sure. I live in Central Florida so if you ever have to come this way, consider my home a place to stay and a home cooked meal. LOL. Your die this month is wonderful and I can’t wait to own it.
On another note, would you mind telling me the name of the cutting machine you are using in your video?ReplyCancel

  • Sandy ArtmanMay 3, 2020 - 5:16 pm

Dear Becca, our amazing, inspiring paper grace! My journey with you hasn’t been that long and you have triumphed over so many obstacles. You are such a role model. Through it all, you continue to achieve at a high level despite the challenges.

I have been so blessed through this current crisis. I have continued to be able to work, albeit reduced hours, without a loss of income. I have learned how to make song recordings to contribute to our online church services. Staying productive has helped me tremendously.

I must say, receiving new dies every month is still exciting and is quite a bargain. The TLC you put into creating these sets make it a joy to be a Gracelet!

    Love & blessings, SandyReplyCancel

OH BECCA! I’m SO SORRY to hear of your nomad existence! It is so unsettling when you don’t have a “home” to call your own, & little space too! I’ll be praying for you!

I LOVE your projects with your new die this month! JUST BEAUTIFUL!!! CAN’T WAIT to have it in hand!

Fairing well here. Keeping busy with Spring Cleaning, & taking care of some new baby chicks! Life has been FULL here, even when we’ve been told to stay in! ;)<3ReplyCancel

    Dear Becca,
My heart aches for you. I have been off air for a while and i missed all that trauma you went through. However it hasn’t stopped your God given beautiful gift and talent. I pray that you find a ‘beautiful nest’ to settle in and continue to bless us with your beauty.
I am sitting here thinking about your loss. I lost my home in a fire when a young mother with 2 little children (that was 54 years ago and I was not a crafter then) and I sometimes still think about the treasures I lost but God restores and knows your heart.
Bless you dear girl and creating the beauty as you do is very healing and I appreciate and adore it. Your work is an inspiration to us all. Thank you. Stay safe.

Praise the Lord you had the strength to do all of that. Hopefully we here in Florida won’t have to deal with a hurricane this year or any year for that matter. It’s enough having to deal with the virus.

I hope you won’t miss the beautiful mountains and the weather up in NC. We always thought about moving to the mountains but can’t seem to leave the beaches area.

The new dies are beautiful and of course make for some lovely creations.ReplyCancel

    Dear Becca,

You remind me of one of my favorite sayings, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” What an inspiring tale you had to share. Glad you shared your journey with us and know we are so impressed by your fortitude, strong will to overcome adversity and triumph of your current journey. Sorry you had to endure all these adversities! But so inspired by your desire to overcome all obstacles in your path and to do so with the determination to accomplish what is in your heart and produce such lovely products, videos and maintaining a business. By not letting obstacles keep you from achieving your hopes, goals, and dreams, you have shown us with hard work and resolve you can accomplish anything. You have literally been victorious over many problems in your life and set yourself on a path to a successful life, business and interpersonal relations. And you still found time to inspired us all and given such joy and satisfaction to all of your Gracelets. You are an amazing, caring person and designer. Thank you Grace and walk with God. Love this new APGDOM and look forward to making many projects with these dies! Another surpurb job!ReplyCancel

OOoooOOO Girl! That is another beautiful die set. Love the lacy look, as always. You know the way to my heart.

But thinking of your past 18 months since Michael. Wow. I’ve had you in my prayers. That has been such a horrible situation for so many. No one really knows or understands how bad it has been for all of you. Just remember I’m still keeping you in my prayers as you navigate all of this. I hope the Lord will provide a more permanent, safe place for you to live.ReplyCancel

Gorgeous projects with these beautiful dies!
It’s sounds like you’ve had quite an adventure. Wishing you much peace as you settle in.
I have been home a lot, and feeling very fortunate to be able to do that. I retired about 4 1/2 years ago from the grocery business and I’m thankful to be safe at home during this time. My hubby has been doing most of our errands and grocery shopping, and we have had a few curbside pick ups of groceries. That’s working well for us. Thankful also that my daughter is safe and is working from her home.ReplyCancel

Becca you are a total inspiration. Not just in the world of craft but in life too. You have faced so many challenges in the last few years and beat them, by carrying on. Like you I need to be very careful with this coronavirus, it’s scary stuff. I have a condition called chiari Malformation which is basically a brain hernia. Everyday is different, sometimes good sometimes not, but I have to get on with it. I dropped my grand caliber and broke it and I’m not in a financial position to replace it so I’m stuck at the moment. I feel lost but what can I do… Just carry on regardless but I’m missing my crafting so much… I believe your faith carried you through. You were given a gift from God in your ability to create some of the most beautiful paper craft I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing your work with us, you truly are an inspiration to us all. Stay well, stay safe and God bless you ??????ReplyCancel

Becca, I have been with you since before John passed and I feel like you are a part of my own family in many ways. Hearing how much you have gone through brought me to tears … because you have gone through so many trials and tribulations. The Bible tells us to count it all joy as we are being tested of our faith and faith produces patience. It says to let patience have its perfect work , that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. That can be found in James 1:2-4. We have had to go through quite a lot lately our selves but we have not even come close to what all you have had to endure. Yet you continue to keep your eyes on Jesus and the real life to come. This earth and our possessions are not what it is all about. I will pray for you my friend . I wish I could give you a hug and a shoulder to lean on. I promise I will pray. God bless…Denice with a “c”ReplyCancel

I don’t know how you do it, but they seem to get more beautiful every month! The projects you have made are stunning. We manage to get in a walk every day during the lockdown – our permitted fresh air and exercise. I’m keeping busy preparing for craft classes in the future and getting a lot of card making done too.
