Any one have spring fever?  I sure do.  Today found me outside in the yard and inside doing a little bit of spring cleaning.  Once I got a break, I sat down to finish this card.  The card uses a scripture from the March Release of You are the Potter by Our Daily Bread Designs

I was tickled to try this Spellbinders Rose Blossom Edgeability template.  Once stenciled it made up into one of the easiest cards I’ve done lately.  We all need that right?  It also made for the perfect place for my sentiment.  For my sentiment both edges were cut with the Spellbinders Ric Rac Scallop Pierceability and on one edge both the embossing and piercing were done.  After tucking the sentiment panel up under the edge of the Edgeability and the card was topped with a header and bow.  The header has vertically scored lines that were done with a Scor-pal.  Ribbon, pearls and another rose cutout finish the card.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – You are the Potter
Paper:  The Paper Company
Ink:  Stampin Up Regal Rose, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss
Accessories:  Spellbinders Rose Blossom Edgeability, Ric Rac Scallop Pierceability, Pearls, Ribbon, Scor-pal

Happy Spring to you!!  Be sure to spend some time outside breathing in the fresh air!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC7)!!!! This week Cindy Haffner is hosting. She is challenging us to use ribbon. You may think ribbon?  I use ribbon all the time.  Of course, you do!!!  We all do!!!  I mean there are just so many ribbons out there to choose from.  There are lace, organdies, ric rac, satin, twill, and grosgrain just to name a few.  Then, there are polka dotted, printed, and stitched patterns to be had.  And, if that is not enough, many of these come in different widths.  Like I said, there are just so many to choose from.   However, you may only use a certain type of ribbon all the time yet you hoard a boat load of others.  It is time to cut those ribbons that bind you, lol!!!  Try to venture from your normal comfort zone or try to use ribbon in a different way.   Do not fret, though.   If you are not feeling awfully adventurous, any card with some ribbon will do!!!!  We would love to see what you do either way!!!

On this card I combined a couple of the elements that I love – the beautiful stamp set,  the Spellbinders Flower, the wide ribbon, the vintage button, pearls and the Martha Stewart punch.  I’ve been holding this card to share with you when these new sets were released and I’m so happy that they are available now!!  This card was created for a class I recently taught and although it may seem like overkill, I purposely included as many of my favorite elements that are – well…me!

The wonderful flourish in the background is from a new Flourishes set called Ornamental Elements that is the epitome of the elegance and grace you’ve come to associate with Flourishes stamps.  The perfectly sweet sentiment hidden on the inside says "Happiness held is the seed  Happiness shared is the flower – it is another of the new Flourishes setscalled Sweet Peas.  The filigree flower was created by Spellbinders Floral Accents and the leaf is from Spellbinders Sunflower One

Here is the card recipe:
Stamps:
Flourishes Ornamental Elements, Flourishes Sweet Peas
Paper:  The Paper Company – Solar White, Bazzill Palo Verde, Bazzill Capers, Bazzill Bling – In the Pink, 140lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Palette – Landscape
Accessories:  Spellbinders Sunflower One, Spellbinders Floral Accents, Martha Stewart Lattice Arch edger, Sheer Organdy Ribbon, Pearl, Silver Cord, Vintage Button

Stay tuned this week . . . I hope to be back later this week with a tutorial on how to make those corner perfectly using the Martha Stewart punch!!

I was telling the truth when I said I have purchased so many products you use and I want to buy a lot of the others. I get them all confused. It’s another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday!!

This week Kimberly Crawford is hosting the Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC6).  Kimberly has provided us with a sketch to test our cardmaking wits.  As far as sketches go, there is not much explanation necessary.  You can turn it and enlarge the sections to fit your card size. However, in the end, it should still look like the sketch.  Good Luck!!!!  Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!!!

What a fun card to make!!  I adore the Lace stamp from Flourishes Lace and Trims Stamp Set.  Using heavy vellum I embossed the lace in white embossing powder.  I was taken with the wrong side of the embossing as seen through the vellum – it shows the actual texture of the lace so magnificently that I placed the shiny side down.  Moving on with the vellum, I stamped Flourishes I Love Roses Set  and colored with pastel chalk pencils for a very muted look.  To frame the floating sentiment taken from the Flourishes Thinking of You Stamp Set, together I cut/embossed a Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals, Large and a Classic Ovals Large with a cut/embossed  Petite Scalloped Oval Large on the inside.  You know how I love curlicue elements so I cut/embossed two elements from the Spellbinders Doodle Parts to add a little bit of color and flair.  I finished by embellishing with pearls, velvet ribbon and a white pen.

The Friends of Flourishes have some awesome cards to show you this week, so be sure to stop by and see their take on this sketch!!

    Becca,

I’ve been scrappin’ for a long time (kept my braces and first Valentine). But I must say everything I have seen that you’ve worked on has been so inpring to me, I’ve started with the cards and bought many of the items you’ve used and it’s changed my vision of what they can be. Thanks for that, and the chance to praise and celebrate the Lord for our talents.ReplyCancel

I love looking at your work, you have a god given talent tha he has blessed you with. His word says if we are ashamed of him here on earth, he will be ashamed of us in heaven. I am so thankful for a beautiful lady that is not ashamed to stand up and say I am a woman of God and that is what my work shows.

    May God Bless you
    And congratulations on one year
