A Merry Little Christmas with Layering Dies + Winner Info

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Lunette Arched Borders, Spellbinders Tallulah Frill and Spellbinders Annabelle
Hi there friends,  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  As the days march on and we’re now into Christmas Panic mode, I have a layered Christmas Card to share using layering dies from the Chantilly Paper Lace Collection.  You know how I love layering dies together and so here’s a combo I hope you enjoy!

I’m also popping in today with a couple of reminders:
The winners for the Inspiration Blog Hop will be posted on the Spellbinders Blog —–> HERE.
In case you missed the hop, you can still make the rounds just follow the updated link list ——-> HERE.
The winner for the Spellbinders Gift Certificate from my blog is at the bottom of post ——-> HERE.

Stacking Your Layering Dies:

From the bottom up, here is how I constructed my card.  On the card base I used Lunette Arched Borders – they were cut as an inlay and for interest I lined the inside of my card with Desert Storm Cardstock.  On top of that I layered Hemstitch Ovals in a contrasting color.  For the next layer up I added Tallulah Frill; interestingly it fits nicely because the curved decorative edges match the curve of Hemstitch Ovals and the Lunette Arched Borders.  Last but not least, I added the rounded badge shape from Annabelle’s Trousseau – it perfectly fit the sweet Quietfire Design sentiment I selected – Have Yourself a Merry Little Flourished Tree.

I normally tape my bows in place on the sides using the long tails.  This time around the tails are neatly hidden because of the liner sheet I used for contrast; bonus!

I love the Chantilly Lace collection and the Hemstitch, too. Hope more hemstitch-like designs come out! This is the only time I’ve paid FULL PRICE for a die set but it was definitely a must have. So tired of cutsie animals, the elegant lace designs are much more my style. Cheers, Becca! ??ReplyCancel
