Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps Frosty in the Meadow and Spellbinders Flurries - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there sweet blog friends!  (Just a quick note – my clear case blog candy ends at midnight CST so you still have a hand full of hours to get your comment in on this post – HERE). Welcome back to day Two of  Waltzingmouse Stamps September 2014 Release previews.  Claire, the owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps, said in her blog post yesterday that she was in the cute mode for her month of designing and wow was she right!  The snowman I’m showing today is absolutely adorable and a welcome switch from the classic elegant style that I’m so drawn to.  So I hope you’ll enjoy this intermission of whimsy and know that next week I’ll be back with some sweet elegant designs.  By the way, the previews all lead up to release day which is Sunday, September 28th – at which time all of the products we’re showing will be available to see in full and purchase on the Waltzingmouse Stamps website.
Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Stamps Frosty in the Meadow and Spellbinders Flurries - www.amazingpapergrace.com
For my 5-3/8″ x 7-1/2″ card today, I’m using Frosty In the Meadow and once I saw him, I knew that this new Spellbinders Flurries die template would make an excellent backdrop.  I created a see through card by cutting the snowflake background directly into my card base and by lining the inside with design paper.  See how the snowflakes pop?  I couldn’t resist putting pearls on each snowflake.  Just to give a little bit of dimension I die cut a frame using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics A #6 and Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics B #6.  And again, just so that things weren’t too plain I added a tiny border at the top using Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One.  I have to tell you I rarely pull out my Copic Markers because it takes me forever to color things up (I’m a remedial colorer) but this was some of the easiest coloring I’ve ever done.  I used two markers on the scarf (BG70 and BG72), an orange nose (YR12) and two colors on the birds (R46 and R56)!  I hand cut the small pennant my sentiment is stamped on.   Oh, by the way, notice how neatly the snowman and the little birdies are trimmed around?  Yes, that’s because there are SVG files available for each of the stamps sets we’re showing this week.  If you have a digital cutter you simply load, cut the shapes and stamp directly on them so there’s no fussy cutting involved.  If you love fussy cutting, no worries because the images are very smooth and simple.  I’m so delighted that I got to break out the box today – it’s a little breath of fresh (winter) air . . .

Love this stamp set – how fun! Thanks for showing it to us. Cute card.

Small hint about copic markers – you can easily use them to color pearl and clear sparkly embellishments. That way they always match….my mind went to light blue or even black on the coal buttons, and light blue clear sparklies on the snowflakes.

    Thanks again – love this!

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Little Deers and Spellbinders Labels 42 Decorative Accents - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hiya sweet friends!  First of all, don’t forget I have 20 clear cases I’m giving away and you have until Saturday to leave a comment – to get to that post click HERE.  Well, it’s officially fall so now I feel better strutting out Christmas and winter cards.  You are in for a treat for the next three days as we kick off the Waltzingmouse Stamps September 2014 previews.  The previews all lead up to release day which is Sunday, September 28th – at which time all of the products we’re showing will be available to see in full and purchase on the Waltzingmouse Stamps website.    My first card is a small filigree card using a new Waltzingmouse Stamp set called Little Deer and using Spellbinders Labels 42 Decorative Accents.

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Waltzingmouse Little Deers and Spellbinders Labels 42 Decorative Accents - www.amazingpapergrace.com
This is an easy card and it’s on the small size coming in at 4-3/8″ square!  You can see how I make hinged bases from filigree dies on the Hinged Base Tutorial HERE.  To make the card I simply made a hinged filigree card base and layered with another element from Labels 42 Decorative Accents and Spellbinders Classic Squares LG.  I adore the little birdhouse!  After stamped, I simply colored with copic markers.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps Waltzingmouse Stamps – Little Deer (Available 9/28)

For my second card (5-1/2″ x 7-1/2) again I’m using the whimsical Little Deer set to make a little winter scene.

WRBF-4445-2014

With an embossed dot background I swiped white ink over top of the kraft paper to create a snowy background look.  After cutting with Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One, I simply staged the scene in between two pieces of the border.   The little tab in the top left corner came from  Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor.   I colored the little deer with copic markers.   Lots of fun!

I am not very talented at creating, so when I see what I like, I CASE or copy (I only do this when giving to a family member or close friend and I give credit on the back). Becca- these are tee-rific!! I think my creativity would be all out by now!! A while back you mentioned you usually purchase large sheets of the gold foil paper then cut it to size, so I wanted to let you and others know that Hobby Lobby usually does have the 12″ X 12″ size gold foil scrapbook paper. You may have to hunt for it– it is usually in the specialty papers in not only gold, but red, green silver and sometimes royal blue!! It is a bit expensive, but they often have 1/2 price sales, so I try to stock up then!! “Tis the season–and just a tiny bit of such fancy paper adds a wonderful element as you so well demonstrate!! Thanks for continuing to share with us all!! All the best to you!ReplyCancel

Hi there friends, guess what time it is!!  Yep, I just got new dies so I’m being a good girl and filing them away where they belong :-)  It just so happens that I had to purchase more clear cases so that I can stay on top of it all and this time around I ordered extra.  Seems to me it’s the perfect time for a giveaway – so I’m offering up 20 clear cases for your storage needs!  If you’ve been a frequent visitor to Amazing Paper Grace then you know I love to give out these cases – they are something I personally use for die storage and some rubber stamp storage and the folks at www.Tapeonline.com have been very gracious with my readers in the past as well as offering wonderful customer service.  Here’s a link to the post where I showed my die storage for those of you who are new to the blog – the blog post has links directly to the cases – https://www.amazingpapergrace.com/organization-die-storage-2014-and-giveaway/

The Important Stuff:
The giveaway begins now and will go until  Friday, September 26 at midnight and I’ll announce a winner on Saturday, September 27th – the name will be picked by comment number through random.org.  In order to win all you have to do is leave a comment here on the blog telling me what craft items rank among the top items at the top of your wish list.  You’re welcome to leave one comment per day (between 12:00am CST and 11:59pm CST).  The clear cases are offered for domestic US Shipping only because international shipping exceeds the cost of the cases HOWEVER, if you are one of my sweet international guests, I’ll offer an alternate prize of a stamp set and two small sets of dies and I’ll take care of shipping.

So jump in and tell me what’s on your wish list!  Come back every day and let me know what else is on your list because it can’t just be one thing.  Then be sure to pop by on September 27th to see if you are the winner.  One and two word comments tend to get swept into my spam filter and there are far too many for me to sift through daily so I encourage you to leave comments that are complete sentences and refer to the blog candy.

Sending you all huge hugs and Happy Monday!!

    Hi

I think top of my purchase list at the moment would be a brother cut and scan or possibly a cricut explore. I do like shaped cards and precision as most of my card making is for others in the form of wedding stationery when I need different sizes of the same style and multiple copies all exactly matching.

Love following your blog, Lots of inspiration.ReplyCancel

  • Maria RodriguezSeptember 22, 2014 - 7:06 am

Every day I open your post, I know I will be totally amazed at your incredible creations, I have bought many a die or stamp set after I see it on your blog, you truly are an inspiration.
I agree with Lynette, that lattice die you used the other day is gorgeous and the way you used the little pieces that otherwise would be thrown out is totally inspiring. I’m looking at my dies with left over little pieces in a completely different way thanks to you!!ReplyCancel

  • christiSeptember 22, 2014 - 7:10 am

thanks for the chance at the blog candy. the top of my list is some kind of digital cutting machine. I don’t want to rush out and buy one then find out there is a new one that is more compatible in the industry. some one got me a cricut years ago and I don’t use it because it only works with their cartridges. I want to be able to use whatever I need to cut out things. something that scans and can use svg and all. so that’s on the top of my list. now I have to do the research. good luck all.ReplyCancel

  • Nancy LorenzSeptember 22, 2014 - 7:14 am

Oh Becca, I personally have so much for crafting, I’m spoiled with it all, I thought I’d just let you know what I feel I couldn’t live without as far as Papercrafting goes than rather what I need. Today, I’ll concentrate on the mats! A good silicone mat and a good self healing mat are by far a necessity for me in order to protect my table surfaces. I use to have the Ranger mat, but have recently changed to the Heidi Swapp mat. To me it’s more flexible and I love working on it! I just have to remember to remove the mat when cutting so I don’t cut into it and that’s where the self healing mat comes in.m there are so many out there and I have a few. A smaller one for traveling and a much bigger one that covers my table surface at home. I wanted to say I love those clear cases and I use the magnet sheets in them for my dies. Just love this for storage and I must have a couple hundred! Mould always use more!!!! ???????? have a blessed day!ReplyCancel

I’m in LOVE with dies and can’t have enough of them. I love their versatility and how great they look on a card. My husband says I need a second job to pay for all the ones I order. he he When I see samples of great designers as yourself, then I want it all, especially Spellbinders and Memory Box. Thanks for the chance to win those cases. I need help with all my dies. Have a great week!ReplyCancel

  • Jacquie JacobsSeptember 22, 2014 - 10:17 am

Wow, Becca you are so generous. I too store my dies in DVD cases and am in urgent need of more but obviously the shipping costs are too expensive from the USA. I have in the past bought from EBay.

What would be top of my list, oh gosh, do I have a list lol! Right at the top at the moment, and have been for a while are the Justrite Grand Christmas Sentiments and Christmas Inner Thoughts. Wanted these last Christmas but were sold out everywhere and have not been able to afford them yet this year so they are still there lol! As far as die at the top is Tranquil Moments, I am constantly looking at beautiful creations that have been made with this die so would love it in my collection.

Good luck to all who enter.

    Love & Hugs

Good Morning Becca. I too, use these cases for my stamps. I purchase freezer binz (from Amazon and Bed, Bath, and Beyond) and have sorted them according to type, i.e. animals, angels, birthday, flowers, swirls, men, ladies, sympathy, etc. putting a divider between each topic. This way, when I am ready to create a card it is much easier to find something I need. I have also put my dies (Spellbinders, JustRite, Memory Box, etc) on matting board with magnet sheets and divided them according to types-animals, squares, circles, ovals, labels, swirls, fall, Christmas, etc.. I have them also in Freezer Binz containers. This way, I can go to what I want without wasting time going thru all my dies.

On the top of my “Wish List” is to spend a day watching and learning from you. You are just an inspiration to me. I look at my dies differently now, so I want to thank you for expanding my knowledge. Of course, one can never have enough dies and stamps. I would like to have a tonic paper cutter like you have. I have trouble some days cutting a straight line. Enough from me, sorry for the long email. You are a true blessing to us.ReplyCancel

How sweet of you Becca….top of my list IS a better way to list my stamps as I am finding that I am buying duplicates. I have all my dies, inks, pens, pencils listed in Excel and can tell at a glance what I have ???? by name and by number and they are stored on my phone for easy access when shopping. The stamps are a different problem. For storage, they are in pizza boxes labels by type, some by mfg. and in A-Z order….no problem there! The kink is how to list them in Excel….some I have done, others not so easy. I have around 100 pizza boxes full to the brim! Any suggestions? Would love to give your die storage a try too!

    Thanks for all your generosity!ReplyCancel

  • Jamie DinnsenSeptember 22, 2014 - 6:28 pm

Top on my list right now is storage items! All my stuff has been packed away since our move – TWO years ago! In a few months (hopefully!) I will get to start unpacking it and will need to make it all fit in my new studio space – which is a little bit bigger, but will have less wall space…and that translate to some pretty big storage challenges! Everything will have to be stored as compactly as possible if it is going to fit – and even then, I think a major purge will have to happen. But hey, with all those windows, I WILL have excellent lighting! ;-)ReplyCancel

What an awesome storage you have, and giving away these cases is so wonderful of you. This would get me started to a great system and would be so appreciated. I check your blog often I was told about you by my dear friend Joan F. I admire your crafting skills and often try to “lift” your ideas in my own way. Your are the best.

I have been looking for a good solution for storing all of my dies, and these cases look like a great solution. The one thing I would truly love on my wishlist would be a crafting/storage armoire that I could keep all of my supplies in, as well as using it for a work station, but being able to close it all up so guests wouldn’t see the mess!ReplyCancel

    Hello Becca,
I absolutely love your card designs. I looked all over the internet trying to find the card designs I had in my head to create, but didn’t know how or where to begin. When I found your site, I was so excited. And then to also find your generosity in sharing how to create them, was just too assume, Becca.
My wish list has a lot on it, since I am just starting out. I have fallen in love with the Spellbinder dies. Being disabled for the past 30 years, and not being able to work has been a challenge. So, I’d have to say, Spellbinder dies especially the fancy ones and also embellishments, pearls, lace, etc. are right up there.
Thank you Becca for the chance to win the die cases. I do try to be organized.
This is my first post ever. I apologize if this was a bit lengthy.ReplyCancel

Yes! Some storage cases would be nice. I have some sets waiting for them.

One of the first things on my wish (Christmas) list now is SB Corners and Accents 1. I like corners tho often my little quarter page cards don’t have enough room to use them. So I’ve learned to cut them apart and use just a part of them. Trim them carefully and smooth the edges with your trusty emery board and many can be used that way.ReplyCancel

What I need most is a friend to make cards with! My first stampin up consultant retired cause life with teens was getting a little too hectic and my new consultant got a day job. Sometimes it’s lonely being a kept girl in a world full of working women. Ther is no sinister judgement or anything by that comment. Morning Becca, Wow !! what a fantastic giveaway for some lucky US peeps, but equally a lovely giveaway for peeps outside the US, like me.
The top of my Wish List is a ‘Cameo’ machine, so I can use the SVG files that JustRite do for their stamps, a brilliant idea, I’m not so good with ‘fussy cutting’ that’s why I love, love, love, my dies, but after seeing what you can do with the SVG files and JustRite stamps, I really, really, want a Cameo lol.
Lots of love from Patricia xxReplyCancel

I so enjoy reading and getting inspired by your creations. Infact, it’s your cards that got me hooked on Spellbinders dies and Justrite stamps OTL. Considering I’m from the Philippines, they’re not easy and quite cost prohibitive to source out. Well, everything to do with card making is difficult to source out here that I even have to order white embossing powder from the US. Right now, I’m looking for versafine inks (which again are not available here, sigh). I’m also drooling for the new 2014 Spellbinders 5×7 and A2 Card Creator dies.ReplyCancel

At the top of my dish list is to have the carpenter finish my beautiful 7 ft wide x 10 ft high craft closet….it’s built…has doors…lighting…the inside is painted…but he has to finish all of the custom shelving….This is one of the last few jobs ( on the interior of the house) to be done as part of our 2 year long hurricane sandy rebuild….our entire house s like a new home….now we need furniture…and finished closets…and we’ll be in good shape! ( notice how my craft closet is at the top if the list….before furniture….lol)ReplyCancel

Hey Becca, Your creations always give me a boost! You ask what is top of my wish list, I promised myself that I would not buy any new stash unless it complemented what I already have (so that I can get double value from all my many craft items) until I had catalogued all my craft stuff! that was at the beginning of the year, so I would say top of my list is the energy to use the time (which I do currently have) to get on an do it! (Gingham stamps from WMS would be next, maybe they need to be the carrot to get all this cataloguing done!)
