Day of Giving Friday: Thinking of You

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Graceful Damask - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning sweet friends!   Tickled to be peeking in today and wanted to let you know that I haven’t forgotten about our winners and will be caught up with Day of Giving prizes soon – I’m quite behind.  All hands on decks, I have not had a spare minute in the background getting samples made, make and takes created and tested as well as the decorations for my display area.  If it seems quiet here, that’s why.  No worries, I’ll be back and have big plans for 2017.  Are you with me?

WRBF-5147-2016

Today I’m giving away another of the cards made with Graceful Borders but it is done in the conventional way.  I’ve taken Spellbinders Graceful Damask and mirrored it vertically on my card and added a sentiment.  That’s it.  A tiny update – these dies are now available on the Spellbinders website :-)

About Day of Giving Friday
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card.   The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11.  You can check to see if your name is on the list of winners HERE!  For your comment:  What is at the top of your crafting list to learn in 2017?

Still seeking our “Not for Profit” status, we’re are in the early stages of receiving funds. At this time, I’m happy to say that we have helped Team De-Feet Cancer reach $32,000 through the Pan Mass Challenge and the Jimmy Fund, the arm of Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA which processes the fund raising.

So happy and thankful for that, I have still not been able to draw a salary or even pay for the supplies used to make cards.

In 2017, I hope to find more room for my crafting supplies. Additionally, I hope to able to draw even a small salary.

I am a one woman show. I keep making cards, send them out, maintain a web-page and do all the marketing to get orders. Because there are no extra funds to draw upon, I can’t afford to hire helpers.

It’s a big wish for 2017. As a retired person, I wish I had thought of this earlier in my career.

Thank you for you tutorials, I absolutely love your designs. I have also ordered some of your dies from Spellbinders. You are an amazingly talented woman.
    Thanks for sharing your gift.ReplyCancel

What a stunning beautiful card. Becca your creations are always so amazing. I also wanted to share some news sometime back I had asked for prayers as my daughter in law was pregnant and she was having some hard times carrying the babies. Well after some hard struggles she had an emergency C Section as she was in danger. After a long time with the decision she delivered a boy and a girl on November 30th. Since Amelia June was under 5 pounds she was in the Special Care Unit and Austin Joe was 5 pounds. Mama was being checked and we are pleased and thankful they are doing great. My daughter in law is such a little trooper and through the whole ordeal she still was caring and loving with everyone. (I would have been screaming-HA!) Thank you for all that prayed for my daughter in law and the babies. Our 2016 year ended with such wonderful blessings. I am praying that 2017 will bring blessings and love to you Becca and all your followers of your blog. I can’t tell you how I have shed tears of joy and thanked God for all He does for all of us.

I guess this year I will be sewing and I would like to learn how to paint. I will continue to make cards and be inspired by you Becca and all that comment on your blog. Happy New Year and lots of blessings and love. RaquelReplyCancel

Hi Becca, I have been following you for, what, maybe 5 years now. Very rarely write but just thought I would pop in today and wish you well. I am so happy for you and all your success. When I first started following you I would tell my husband, this lady on the internet is so talented , I bet she will have her own tv show someday. Well, it looks like you are going to make my predictions come true. Loved watching you on Create and Craft. You are so precious. Just keep on being your own sweet self, love your family and most of all keep God first and foremost. I know you will. : ) Always wanted to win a card from you. I would certainly treasure it. I would hang it on my wall in my craft room and smile whenever I looked at it. Maybe someday my name will get pulled out of the internet hat….. Ha-Ha… Until then I will just keep on watching you climb that ladder of success. God bless always…DeniceReplyCancel

    Good afternoon dear Becca,
I fell in love with your new dies when you were across here in the UK and can’t wait until i am able to use them( choked with the flu since Christmas so haven’t got the strength to turn my GC handle). I think my favourite out of them all is the frame maker as i have so many border dies that this will just make it so easy for me to get the right angle to make frames. I like frames around a card but with shaky hands, some times they are not as true as i would like them to be, so your frame maker will change that for me as i hate when i can’t get things precise( yeh iam one of those nightmare people that have to measure everything down to the last millimetre of accuracy). So for me, this year will hopefully be being able to be more precise so that i am happy with the end look. I know it’s about the fun, but my nature just won’t let me just make do and mend, which spoils the fun of making some wonderful things. I can’t wait to see what you have in line this year flower, but what i can do is send hugs and hopes that it is a fabulous year for you,
    crafty hugs

    Hi Becca,
Totally understand…I worked at CHA two years awhile back and know what it takes to get all ready!!! Have FUN! Your card is lovely, as usual…still enjoying the precious card you sent me! Top on my 2017 list is to get organized in the new one bedroom apartment in the Retirement Community I am moving to in February – downsizing has been a real CHALLENGE…now, hope it will all fit – LOL! Able to let go now of the house I designed and the 5 1/2 acres..one step at a time!!!

Hi Becca, A stunning card, I love the borders.
I’m hoping to ‘get into’ some ‘painty’ and ‘messy’ crafting, also to keep trying colouring.
Lots of love from Patricia xxReplyCancel

    Hello Becca,

I am drooling here looking at your beautiful cards and waiting to make all of the beautiful border dies cards with the order of dies from CreatandCraft. However, my husband and I have been land locked since December 21st in Texas waiting for the weather to clear so he can fly us back to New Jersey. It has been 3 weeks and I think the dogs wish we were gone so things would be back to their normal. The first thing I will do is pick up the mail so that I can see my new dies and then hold them in my hands and make a wish. My wish would be to sell our home, move to Texas, build a Craft Studio (after my husband build a hanger for his plane)make hundreds of cards and make new friends. So happy your year has started with a bang! You have much to do!
Hugs and HAPPY NEW YEAR! SaraReplyCancel

This card is beautiful. One thing that I would like to learn in 2017 is sponging.

I like the simplicity and elegance of this card. I can envision it being used for many different occasions. My goal for this year is to venture into water coloring. I’ve watched enough You Tube shows on ‘how to’ and am just about ready to give it a try. Wish me luck.ReplyCancel

I love your new border dies Becca, they add so much to a card to make it simple and elegant. The top of my list this year is to get more proficient in using watercolors. I think there is so much to do with it for a background or just those special dies to be spruced up. Being new to watercolors or markers will take some major reading and YouTube time.ReplyCancel

I am so enjoying the cards you are creating with your new border dies. I’m excited to try this gorgeous card! Of course, I’d love to win it. lol!

I would like to learn to craft flowers from foamiran foam. It’s very thin fan that can be die cut and heated to shape the petals. I recently ordered the foam so I now need to try my hand at creating a flower. I love that these flowers are more durable than paper so mailing them as part of a handmade card will be less problematic.

    Have a wonderful day, Becca!ReplyCancel

This is such a fabulous card, Becca. I love the Damask die and the pink is gorgeous.
We’ve been in the US for a few weeks and I started to yearn for my sewing machine! I generally use it for practical purposes – making curtains, repairs etc – but I want to do some machine embroidery. I have the threads, just never got round to using them!
