Celebrate Your Special Day

WRBF-3818-2013
Hi there sweet friends — how about a card that will celebrate any special occasion?  I had a craving to do a filigree card so I started with a card base made from Spellbinders® Enchanted Labels Twenty Eight – one of my favorites.  For my card base I was able to cut two layers at once – there are not too many chads so it was relatively easy to get clean cuts.  If your die cut machine balks with two layers, you can try the technique I show in this —–> video, for a polished look.  On top of my base I layered Spellbinders® Gold Labels Four followed by Spellbinders® Labels Thirty which is cut from some sweet rose paper at ByDigital called Romantic Time.  (My rose design paper layer is backed up by a cream layer of Labels Thirty simply cut in half horizontally.)  The top element is cut using Labels Thirty as well, then trimmed down to the sides of the stamped frame from JustRite Papercrafts set – Birthday Vintage Labels Four.
WRBF-3819-2013
I felt like I needed something to create some texture within the design so the two half round circles are a little piece of serendipity – I used Spellbinders® Die D-Lites Window Two.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercrafts – Birthday Vintage Labels Four
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb Smooth, EK Success – Cloud, ByDigital – Romantic Time
Ink:  Amuse – Eucalyptus, French Roast
Accessories:

I’ve been savoring the amazing weather that has been coming my way.  A new glider on my porch has become my favorite hangout with morning coffee and I’ve been drinking in the morning air with a thirst that surprises even me.  Two new plants found their way into my new spot even though I can in no way claim a green thumb.  These are blissful, blessed days and as much as I savor my little oasis, I equally savor the time spent here with you.   Thank you and bless you!!  P.S.  I’m trying to answer email these days . . . perhaps my computer needs to come out to my new spot, what do you think?

The pastel blue with the flower paper is absolutely enchanting. The whole card is really lovely. I hadn’t thought of purchasing S. Labels 30 as I have several close to it, but after seeing it used in this way well… As far as that porch goes enjoyed with coffee in the morning, I don’t think there are words to describe that depth of delight. We have a little porch where read and watch the sun go down…just luscious, indescribable pleasure. Hard to think of computers pondering those other moments.ReplyCancel

Oh my goodnes, this is so gorgeous again Becca. Maybe I should try and make you this one after, when my oldest granddaughter is graduating here next month. She has already told me, that she expect something special, as I´ve always made special cards for them all for their birthdays, so now she think, I have to make an even more special one for this very special occasion, as she´s the very first in our family ever, who´s graduating this kind of school here. I´m not sure, what you call it, as it´s more than highschool but not quite university, where she starts after the holiday, so she´s sooo proud, and ofcause she deserves a special card for this.ReplyCancel

Just having returned from our “winter house” in the southwest, I haven’t been able to get my crafting items unpacked yet. Today I will! This is one of the most beautiful cards that you have shared with us. You have out done yourself! God has blessed you with such wonderful talents – including a very loving and kind heart! Thank you…….ReplyCancel

Having the glider as a special retreat in the morning should be just that. If you take your computer out there, it ruins that peaceful setting which you will never reclaim. Even if you don’t take the computer out there again, the peace is not the same. We can wait for a reply to any of our questions rather than spoil your peaceful place. This is one way you can take care of yourself. Enjoy the peace of the Lord. Also love the card and plan to watch the video.ReplyCancel

Becca, your creativity is so inspirational. You explain your cards in a way that makes those less gifted feel they can actually create something beautiful too. Your creations nake me want to pull out my Spellbinder dies and get to work. This means so much to me because too many years of health issues have kept me from crafting the way I would like. Today I plan to re-create this lovely card. Thank you for your devotion to those who follow you. God bless you.

Enjoy your glider and this great weather we have here in Florida. Love the 60 degree mornings which allow me to walk which is my outlet like your glider. Love this exceptionally beautiful card, just as I do all of your creations! Know you are reading your emails as I was so very tickled to get a reply from you last week. Couldn’t have been happier if I had gotten an email from Elvis as I was to get one from YOU!!!! My inspiration for Spellbinder creations!!

This is my first comment on your blog Becca which I only discovered a couple of weeks ago – its taken me that long to pluck up the courage to say something! I have never seen such beautiful cards – the filigree backgounds are so unusual and such a delight – you have inspired me to have a go and for first attempts (I’ve tried 2 so far), they are not bad although not as good as yours! It seems for you and other bloggers comments, you are having heat in the US – here in the UK it is cold, wet and windy for May and its back to jumper weather – we have had a few weeks of wearing t shirts though – hopefully some warmth and sun will return soon. In the meantime you have turned me into a filigree filly so thanks for the inspiration – it’s really appreciated.ReplyCancel

Morning Becca, WOW, another creation of gorgeousness, loving the beautiful patterned paper and the gorgeous dies used, and what a brilliant idea to use the tops of the D-Lites window to create the doily shape, genius. I have just re-watched your video on your base cards, ready to start making my own, as they are so delicate and pretty, I love all your creations.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
PS We have got rain, rain and more rain, here in the UK, make the most of your sun, maybe you could send us some of yours ha ha xxReplyCancel

How beautiful Becca – love all the layers – the gorgeous paper and the sentiment stamp has been added to my ‘list’. Love the idea of having your morning cuppa on the porch….. it’s cold and wet here in the North East of England. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
