The February Die of the Month is an interactive card, but don’t be fooled, the pieces and parts assemble to make lovely normal cards and ensembles.  We all love interactive cards too though and this one is addicting to open.  I designed a slightly elegant version of a shutter card that you can dress it up and dress it down to your heart’s desire.  Say hello to the Elegant Reveal Shutter Card.

Today we’re giving you additional ideas on how to use the dies that come in the set.  There are several gorgeous inlay dies and a nested set of dies that create apertures or create frames.  Just imagine making a box or a basket.  We’ve even talked about creating a candle or a votive holder!  The dies are perfect for the cover of any card but think about using the reveal sliders on top of a box.  Here’s to hoping you find some time to grab the dies and manage to sit down and play.

Here are the dies included in the set:

My Cards Today:
Today I have made the very rare A2 Card (lol).  Over on my YouTube channel someone asked me if I ever made A2 Cards and we chatted for a bit.  I rarely do because there is just not enough real estate but this card has such a beautiful inlay that I used the inlay to make my card.  The inlay is cut on the front and back and then I layered in some vellum.

Here is how the card looks closed up.  You can see through back to the vellum.

Then I created a small envelope so that I could gift some green tea with the card.  It’s just large enough to hold two specialty tea bags and a special bow on top :-)

I rather enjoyed the size of the card this time around.  Perhaps there will be more!!

These “For A Sweet Friend” cards are so very elegant! Which flower dies did you use for these? The petal shape isn’t the same as the die examples at the end of your post, the petals are softly rounded at the end. Which die was used for these?ReplyCancel
