Yesterday

Hi there blog friends.  You all are as sweet as can be.  I wanted to let you know that your words are always encouraging – thank you!!  I have a card to share today with a sentiment that on first glance seems so simple but ah . . . it is wise indeed!  I only wish I it was as easy to heed it was to make this card, lol!   What do you think?  This scrumptious verse is available at Quietfire Design and is called Don’t Let Yesterday.  I picked out one of my most favorite of the new Spellbinders releases – Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles and stacked them up.  They are so elegant that after matching several colors to work with, I did an about face and went to gold.

To highlight the sentiment, I matted it using Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Two and to extend it I simply cut and extra and appended the ends.   The Fleur de Lis Rectangles are so decorative that they really dominate the card.  I added a simple sheer bow and pearls for a little bit of balance.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – Don’t Let Yesterday
Paper:  The Paper Company, Gold Foil
Ink: Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Classic Squares LG, Pearls, sheer ribbon

Hope you are having a splendid day!  Big hugs, friends, I’ll see you soon!

LOVE, LOVE the white/gold — always such a stunning combo and combined with the Fleur de Lis, this is just beyond gorgeous — very classy & very elegant!!! That sentiment is just the perfect topping to this creation and I’m going to repeat it to myself and my DD when she gets home from her very challenging new job (that I AM so GRATEFUL she found)!!! Thanks for all you share with us, Becca, through your God-given talents!!!ReplyCancel

  • sandi ackermanMarch 10, 2011 - 1:38 pm

Amen Amen Amen to the verse. If yesterdays bad stuff ( or sometimes even the good stuff) takes over the thoughts of today, you have no room for the gifts that God wants to send your way. You have way to many wonderful things . I almost wait to see what you are going to share next. The verses are sometimes exactly what God wants to tell me that day too. So now that I have read the verse, I suppose I should actually take time to look at all of your hard work on the card. Thanks.ReplyCancel

Stunning and Elegant! Wow so few words say so very very much but sometimes so difficult to put into practice. I agree with Sandi. It is amazing how the verses on your cards are often just what I need to hear that day.

I consider your projects to be Art and I am always impressed with how you put it all together. I need to get past this block so I can get back into my sewing and stamping room and DO something! Maybe I will spend time on Saturday to go through your archives and that will spark some energy to get going.

I just love this card. I’m am into anything that has a sort of victorian look with all the swirls, and swirls are everywhere right now, I love to use metallic on cards…it gives them such elegance and richness. I, also, love that new “Spellbinders” set. That one and the parisian set are my new favorites. Your card is stunning…all elements that I just love!ReplyCancel
