Timeless Tuesday – Happiness Shared

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC11)!  Lucky me, I’m the challenge hostess this week!  My challenge to everyone is to use paper piercing.  Paper piercing is the art of piercing holes through the cardstock for decoration.  Paper piercing has evolved so much in the past couple of years with the invention of some highly detailed piercing templates.  There are all kinds of piercing ideas to use.  Whether it is just a pierced frame or border, some pierced corner accents, a few pierced dots here and there, or you go out out with ornate piercing template patterns, we would love to see what you create.

This was my first opportunity to use the new Flourishes background – Vintage Wallpaper.  I stamped it using two pigment inks that I dabbed on the card with Dew Drops sized ink pads – they worked perfectly.  The sentiment I used is from the Flourishes Sweet Peas set.  On my card, I used an Ornare template to pierce a circle and then cut the circle out with Spellbinders Standard Circle Small and hollowed out the center with a smaller circle.  I mounted the sentiment with the Spellbinders Tags 5 set and covered the tag hole with a pearl.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes Vintage Wallpaper, Flourishes Sweet Peas
Paper:  Bazzill, Strathmore 140lb Bristol Paper
Ink:  Veramagic Spanish Olive, Versamagic PInk Petunia
Accessories:  Spellbinders Standard Circle Small, Spellbinders Tags 5, Ornare, Pearls Ribbon

Be sure to visit the other Friends of Flourishes to see how they put piercing to the test!

I really love those colors together! So very pretty! I’ve tried piercing on some projects and it just doesn’t look very good. Not sure if my piercer is too small of a point or what. Maybe I just need some practice.ReplyCancel
