Flourished Tea Towels

As I start my list for possible Christmas presents and comb through my resources for inspiration, it dawned on me that I had not shared this project here.  I thought I should share these Tea Towels since for this year they are on my short list :-)  The inspiration for these towels was a lovely serving plate I have with a mug and cup.  Flourishes created this beautiful rose stamp that I’ve found to be a staple to my stamp collection, it’s from the set called I Love Roses.  It’s a classic and miraculously looked like a great match for my serving ware.

I stamped the roses and leaves in Brilliance Ink then heat set them – my first choice would have been Stazon but I don’t think I had the correct color.  If you try the technique be sure you test them in the washer for whatever use you ultimately want.  This set is only for display, my main objective was to mimic the dishes so obviously I didn’t need to worry so much about permanence.  For the shading on the rose I used stencil pastes.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – I Love Roses
Ink:  Brilliance – Rocket Red, Pearlescent Ivy (Heat Set)
Accessories:  Ribbon, Linen Napkins, Plaid Stencil Paints

Have a marvelous day!!  I’ll be back with some card stamping tomorrow!

    Good Morning~

These are beautiful and I just may give it a try sometime. Thank-you for sharing your idea. Winter has hit here in North Dakota and the few roses I have in the yard are no longer in bloom and covered in mulch for next year. These towels give me a warm feeling out here.ReplyCancel

The tea towels are a great idea and you could match your whole table with napkins, tablecloth, placemats, name tags, and centrepiece.
