Children Are . . .

Okay, here is my sad story . . . I lost my camera with my prized memory card in Orlando at CHA.  You know me, I was so star struck that someone could have taken my wallet out my hand and I probably wouldn’t have missed it.  The good news is that they remembered my name and it’s coming back to me.  In the meantime, I’m reaching back into my stash of things that I haven’t shown you yet.  I hope you like this one it’s actually displayed in my craft room.

Using a 12 x 12 frame that was purchased as unfinished wood,  I spray painted it ivory and prepped it by backing with a piece of design paper.   From my stash came a stamp set that I picked up from Stamp Camp at a stamping convention.  It has 26 uplifting sayings about children, I stamped each with the corresponding letter (Stampendous) then cut each combo out using Spellbinders Labels 4.

I have to admit that this set of stamps languished in my stash for many years and now I have a quick to make gift to add to my new baby projects repertoire.  I also dolled up the frame with one of my Primas I’ve horded for a special occasion and a die cut border.  (Stamp Camp advertises a 5 to 6 week fulfillment time on their orders so I recommend being very patient or grabbing this at a local stamp show.)  I love these sayings, children are such a treasure.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Stamp Camp (you can find them on the internet – 5 – 6 week order time)
Paper:    Colorbok – Dena’s Closet
Ink:  Stampin’ Up Dye Based Inks
Accessories:
Spellbinders Labels Four, Quickutz, Prima Flowers, Pearls, Satin Ribbon, 12 x 12 frame, Ivory Paint

Be blessed my friends.

Oh, how lucky you are that someone honest is returning your camera! Very rare in this day when people seem to think “finders keepers” is the first rule! Glad to hear it’s on its way back to you.
Love the framed artwork you haved shared with us today! The saying for each letter are just fantastic! What a great reminder that everything a child does is because he or she is a child and should be treasured in its own way! Love it!!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, I’m SO sorry about your camera, but how lucky that it’s coming back to you! Speaking of “starstruck”… My friends Denise and Sue and I had a very quick “hello” with you at CHA on Friday. It was so nice to meet you in person, I’ve admired your work for a long time and wanted to say how sweet and gracious you are in person! You said we should comment on your blog when we got home, so here I am! I had a great time in Florida and have lots of new inspiration. I can’t wait to get started on some new projects! Also, I really love this piece about Children. Can you tell me who made the stamp set? I’d love to buy it for myself if it’s still available. Have a great day! :) MichelleReplyCancel

Hello Becca, I have been a silent admirerer of your work for months now. I visit your site almost everyday to see what beautiful things you have created. I really like this children’s alphabet and was wondering if you would send me the entire alphabet of sayings. A very good friend of mine is having their first child in a few months and I would love to make one of these for them.

Hi Becca So glad you are getting your camera back. I could not live without mine!! I simply adore this piece of art work – in fact I love it so much I would like to recreate it for my daughter and I also have a niece who is about to have a baby that I would like to make one for . I went on the Stamp Camp website but I could not locate these stamps. Can you please let me know what the set is called so I can try and source it either from Stamp Camp or somewhere else I live in Australia so any ideas on where I might be able to purchase this set if not from Stamp Camp then from another distributor perhaps. I look forward to your reply. I think you work is amazing and I visit your site every chance I can. Thank you for sharing your God given talents with us all.
