Bon Appetit

Bon Appetit!  Diana gave the Design Team an informal challenge to create a card using Red, White and Black from the new  A Little Yummy for Your Tummy Collection available at Magnolia-licious.  They are all adorable images along the line of a Kitchen/Cooking Theme; I can already see the endless possibilities for snacks and goodies bags with the jam labels, tea cup, cupcake and recipe card . . . oh and the rolling pin!  So I created a card with this sweet little chef girl  (#383 Oops Tilda) that has just broken an egg . . . ahem . . . that so me – at least the clumsy part is.

I’m loving the design paper too – oh yeah, its part of the collection, is a nice weight cardstock and is also available at Magnolia-licious.  She is colored with copics and it was pretty easy since the theme called for red, white and black.   I left her apron and hat white and just worked with greys to shade a little.  I shaded a little bit more on the outside than I normally do because there were so few colors on the image.  For the sign I used the jam label which normally has lines within, I just omitted them and computer generated the word Bon Appetit.

So, a little bit of news . . . these images have arrived so hop over to Magnolia-licious and have a look while they are still available.  In addition, pre-orders are still going on for the So Spooky Collection.   And . . . a new collection is now available for pre-order – So Jolly – Under The Mistletoe – So Snowy Collections.  Would you believe me if I said it is the cutest collection yet?  Oy . . . I got a good look at this collection last night and it will be hard not to have them all!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:
Magnolia – #383 Oops Tilda
Paper:
Magnolia – So Yummy Paper Pack
Ink:  Memento – Black Tuxedo
Accessories:
Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, Fiskars Apron Lace Border Punch, Ribbon, Bling

Well that caps it off for me on this post – I’m working on other things from this collection so keep your eyes open.  Hope to see you soon!

As usual a beautiful card… I’m always amazed by your creativity. I do have one question, you said you computer generated the words ‘Bon Appetit’… what font did you use, is it MS Word or a font package? I like to do that too, because many times the stamps I have are never the right size or I can’t find the words I want to use in a stamp.ReplyCancel

Love your card but the website for the stamps is a little bit confusing. I could not find the image and they only show a tad little bit of the stamp so you have to click on each one…I wish it were easier to navigate their site! :( Your card kind of makes up for it because it’s darling!! :)ReplyCancel

What a different but beautiful idea! It would make a great insert page idea for a hand made cook book, a memory cook book of one’s mother’s or grandmother’s favorite recipes or even a nice Christmas cook book gift.

As usual Becca, you do such beautiful work. I definitely will be waiting to see your next design for this Magnolia collection. I know it will be absolutely great!ReplyCancel

Your cards are always wonderful but something that has always bothered me about Tilda is that she has no nose or mouth. How is she supposed to eat what she is cooking?ReplyCancel
