A Celebra’tions Thank You

Thank You Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Celebra
Good morning my crafty friends!!  Did you know that a couple of weeks ago Spellbinders launched new dies?  Well yes, it’s been quite busy in blog land and lucky me, I have some of these new dies in my hot little hands.  So today, I wanted to show you my spin on this bright, cheerful line of papers, inks, stamps, twine and dies that all coordinate.  All the things I used for this card will be in my recipe below but if you want to see the entire collection, pop over and have a look at the entire Celebra’tions line HERE.Thank You Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Celebra
I love to put my spin on whatever I work with and if you’ve been peeking in here around long enough you know it would be a pretty good bet to have some pink.  I started out with this enchanting embossed background called Framed Canvas (already a favorite).  I decided to have a circle frame using Pierced Circles for a focal element and place flowers made from the Just Because set around the edges.  I placed my stamped sentiment from the  My Friend set on the Enhanced Banner set and positioned it just inside the frame.  The matching design paper (Cotton Candy and Celebra’tions Prints), twine (Celebra’tions Linen Thread) and ink (Captivating Coral) pull it all together.  The pearls are from my stash, but sure go a long way towards making the look mine.  So what do you think, my style or not my style?  Lol, this was a lot of fun!!

Happy Monday sweet friends, I hope you have an awesome week!  By the way, if you asked a question on my last post, the parking lot is full (meaning I answered all the questions)!! Pop over and get your answer :-)

I really like the pink and white theme. Definitely you! I love the way you layer dies and I’m really liking that stitched circle die. How do the new dies coordinate with the classic dies?ReplyCancel

  • MaryannJuly 21, 2014 - 9:10 am

As always you´ve made such a beautiful creation in the soft pink and layering of several dies and so, and as always you ended up with such an awesome result, and this is definitely just as beautiful as always Becca. I love the soft girly look, you´ve achieved on this here too, soo beautiful.ReplyCancel

  • Bernie KJuly 21, 2014 - 9:15 am

    Hi Becca,

It is a more casual Becca, with the twine, but definitely you. Who else would have thought to use twine as a bow? I love the idea since many of my cards are more casual and ribbon looks out of place. You did it again, my Girl!

wow Becca, this is gorgeous. Love the colors. I did not know they made pierced circles.. Where have I been :)ReplyCancel

  • ChelseaJuly 21, 2014 - 10:05 am

I think this is very different from your usual creations. I wouldn’t have guessed you made it – and didn’t when I saw it on Pinterest. That being said, it is beautiful! And very cheerful! I like it :DReplyCancel

  • Clare WJuly 21, 2014 - 10:24 am

Yes I like it but for me the becca bow is not dominant enough – I love your doubles and triples in silk ribbon – simply divine – this twine one doesn’t have the same wow factor for me -sorry to say that Becca – just my opinion.ReplyCancel

Though this card is pretty the pinks are so bright that the soft muted tones you usually work would leadd me to think if I saw this elsewhere it wouldn’t be yours. You commented that over 1600 cards later that it is hard to come up with new ideas so I would think that you may be in an experimental stage here. How encouraging to know that I am not alone with the well running dry from time to time. That’s when really great things happen…launching out into something never tried only to find you produced something that brings a smile of accomplishment. I really appreciate the candidacy you share with different moments on your creative journey. The card IS lovely, working within the constraints of the materials you needed to use. Yes, you put on your own spin with the design, but I don’t think it quite fits your style. Still it is a cheery card, and a great design.

I love this look Becca!! So fresh and cheery. AND, it’s a look that isn’t intimidating :) I can see the ‘need’ to collect all the new line, just as in the past. You rock what happens to land in your hot hands!! :) TFS your new look.ReplyCancel

  • Beth EllisJuly 21, 2014 - 1:26 pm

I must agree with those who are nay-sayers here! While the flowers and the pearls are Definitely true Becca, the card just misses for me. :-( I always love your delicate elegance and subtle use of color and this is NOT tha way. I do applaud your venturing out of your usual box and we all need to do that once in awhile but that being said, please, please go back to the REAL you! I have only glanced briefly at the new Spellbinders Celebra’tions and my jury is still out. I plan to try some of the papers and dies, etc. and will get back to you with my opinion. I may be just “old” and “traditional” but some of this just shouts at me! But thanks for “listening” to my little rant here!ReplyCancel

  • Jeanette (New Zealand)July 21, 2014 - 1:29 pm

serious question: Becca, I just purchased from JustRite the Vintage Filigree Layers Dies. AG02039. the picture shows four layers. But there are only two dies. A large one and the middle. they do not separate into four dies. How do you get these layers, that is pictured on the product? I want to use them for my holiday cards… …hope you can help. with tutorial. I am a visual learner. as use dies a lot, but this one is a puzzle…..hope you can help. thank you soooo much.ReplyCancel

  • Blue RoseJuly 21, 2014 - 6:54 pm

    Becca,
Although it is a beautiful card, in my humble opinion, it does not fit your profile. You did bring class to these products, being that they seem somewhat juvenile for me, not that that is bad, it’s just not your delicate, gorgeous, elegance. I did view the roll-out, but was not too terribly impressed with the products…too much similarity to other vendors…it was cute at best, but again, it is my humble opinion.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, I love your cards so much. Hope to hear from you soon on my serious question because it was a die you have designed. It would have so many possibilities., I want to use it correctly. Maybe doing a card with the die hear and a tutorial would help to see the process….thanks for your inspiration and fabulous creations.ReplyCancel
