You Are A Blessing (to me)

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Grand Thank You Sentiments and JustRite Custom Dies by Spellbinders Buntings and Buttons
Good morning blog friends – it’s true, you are such a blessing to me.  In fact, as a thank you to my marvelous readers, at the end of the year I’ll be offering a giveaway that you won’t want to miss.  Stay tuned!!  So, after my masculine card yesterday, I’m back with a girly card today using JustRite Papercraft  – Grand Thank You Sentiments in my familiar style of cream and layers.  I used pink as an accent color (imagine that) but this card could fly with any accent color.    I have a tip for you today too, be sure to look at what’s left over from your die cuts – many times you can use the left overs on your card – since it’s hard to explain this, I’ll show you the left over piece I used that made my card work.
WRBF-4046-2013
I reached for the the largest template from Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five and wanted to highlight the inner area, so I reached for JustRite Custom Dies by Spellbinders Buntings and Buttons and cut both the scalloped bunting and the smooth bunting knowing I wanted to use it as a border, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to border it on.  Well, when I looked  at the bunting cut out I noticed that it left the perfect upright shape to border.  I cut it one more time giving myself 1-1/4″ between the top edges and the bottom edges of the bunting and it created the curved shape in the center.  Lol, for my day to start out with something so sweetly serendipitous, it’s going to be a good day!  I topped the design off with Spellbinders Lacey Ovals and Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM.
WRBF-4045-2013
If you’d like to try this card, here’s a recap from the bottom up:  Start out with a Card Base  7-1/2″ tall by 5-1/2″ wide (or see how to make that size with the Hinge Technique HERE), foam tape, pink matting layer cut to 7-1/4″ x 5-1/4″, die cut layer using Majestic Labels Twenty Five, foam tape, combination of die cuts Buntings and Buttons – smooth edge glued to scalloped edge glued to left over shape, ribbon, foam tape, Lacey Ovals, foam tape Classic Ovals SM.  Tip –  cut everything first, then stack.  Position ribbon, and bow on correct layer, after everything is situated, then glue!

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: JustRite Papercraft – Grand Thank You Sentiments
Craft Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Natural White (80 lb), pink
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Spun Sugar Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five JustRite Custom Dies by Spellbinders Buntings and Buttons Spellbinders Lacey OvalsSpellbinders Classic Ovals SM, Recollection Pearls, Button, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine

I had a wonderful Christmas!  We didn’t go all out and spend tons of money, but I did get a wonderful rolling case for my scrapbook supplies from We R Memories.  I’ve wanted it for some time and magically it was under the tree  :-)  The best thing I got was some quality time to spend with my youngest daughter (who didn’t have to work this holiday).  It absolutely tickled my heart and was a huge blessing.  Did you get a gift that tickled your heart?…I’d love to hear!

Becca, this is SO gorgeous!!! I love everything about this card. I’m glad you had a wonderful Christmas. My Christmas was fantastic as I had my family here. All 3 of my children and their families were here as well as one of my brothers and his wife and one niece and her husband. My ex-mother-in-law and current mother-in-law were here, for a total of about 27 people. We ate and talked and it was perfect.ReplyCancel

Todays card is so pretty… I especially like how you did the ribbon & bow.
Pink and white combination is one of my favorites but like you said any color would work for this card.

I received many wonderful gifts of clothing from our daughters, but the one that tugged at my heart was a little cross-stitch from my granddaughter of 9 years that said “Grandma, with Love, XOXO”. It was matted and framed, and I have it sitting near my chair. I will treasure that always! JanReplyCancel

This pink and white card is absolutely lovely ESP with the discovery of the border die. Just makes the heart leap with the fun of it all! Every Christmas is different than any other. This year the whole family was together; laughing, sharing delicious food and thankfully no one was ill. Our little 3 yr old (great grandson) “Spiderman,” throwing out his imaginary webs, added his own contribution to the hilarity. Most of all God’s work of love and grace in us this year was more than the joy any presents can bring.ReplyCancel

What a beautiful card! I love your way with die cuts. We’re calling this a non-traditional Christmas because it was our first without either of our children with us. However, it was still a great day because my husband and I were able to be together – we realized it’s the first Christmas we’ve opened presents with just the two of us. Since our 29th anniv. is tomorrow, that’s a lot of Christmases. :) While we didn’t spend much on each other, we were able to give each other what we wanted the most. Second only to the gift of God’s Son, the greatest gift I’ve ever received was the gift of my husband.ReplyCancel

I absolutely love your card here Becca. It´s soooo beautiful and sooo girly and with 7 granddaughters, that´s what we like around here ha ha ha.
The best pressies I got is really hard, as I admit, I was sooo spoiled this year, but the 2 best is definitely first one I got from my 9 y.o. granddaughter, which she told she had bought for her very own money (small allowances, she gets for taking the trash out and things like that, so not much she have) but she made an excuse, that with soo little money she couldn´t afford too much, so she had been in a recyclingstore and found a really cute little elf for me, because she know, I love those, and she was a bit worried as it had gone up a bit a few places, but as grandma was soo good with glue, she hoped, I could fix it, which we ofcause did right away, but that gift was given with sooo much love it went right into my heart and will stay there forever.ReplyCancel

Firstly, I would like to say, it is wonderful to read all the comments here and it lifts my heart, as I have always said it’s the little things that count and you can clearly see that here. I visit your site daily and you inspire me as you do for everyone, with your wonderful gift. I have always been creative (Thanks Mum), and got bitten by the card bug 6 years ago, and this Christmas I got my first ever gifts of dies and a Hougie board. My biggest gift was to have all my family around me, and I would just like to wish everyone a fantastic 2014. Thank you Becca for giving us your time and sharing your talent.ReplyCancel

Such a beautiful lovely card Becca, you please me with every card you show to us ,
My best Christmas Present ? Well my 2nd son had a very bad accident at work 2months ago and needed Hospital treatment ,he had to have a brain scan as the front of his head was hurt very badly , however they also found a lump to the back of the head on further inspection, and they could not say if this lump was accident related or not . he had to wait 2 Months for all swellings to go down before he had another scan, Then on Christmas eve the Doctors told him ” the Lump has now Gone and must have been caused when he fell on his back ,so banging the back of the head , So this is my best Christmas present of all, all the stress and the worry has been lifted , he is coming over tomorrow with his two lovely little children, we will have dinner and play board games . Yes God is Good and i feel blessed .

Enjoy the rest of the Holidays Becca .

My best Christmas pressie was a Christmas design ‘onesie’, I loved it so much that I wore it to Church for the 8am service, with my ‘poodle’ coat over the top, it was lovely and warm, although I did get a bit of a ‘look’ from the Vicar, but she had to laugh haha.

The best thing I had for Christmas was my whole family was here. My youngest daugther drove 5 hours & arrived on Christmas Eve at about 7 pm. She had to leave on Christmas day at 6:30pm. Even though it was short we were glad she came. My grandchildren were so cute & gave us little things from them.
