With Love and a Winner

Mothers Day Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Blooming Collection - see www.amazingpapergrace.com for full supply list
Sweet friends I hope you have a fabulous day in store for you today.  As promised there is a winner for the Artisan X-plorer offered on my blogaversary – name shown at the end of this post.  In the meantime I have a romantic card to share today that stands in line to be used for Mothers Day but can also be used for birthday and for friendship.

I love the delicateness of the square die template I picked to fill the body of the card – Spellbinders Blooming Collection, it’s open and it’s airy and it gave me lots of room to play around as well as the feminine feel I was looking for.  Next I added Spellbinders Fancy Label Tags Four and raised it with foam tape.  Then I added the cut out of Spellbinders Silhouette until I realized that the negative of the Silhouette die looked much better – I cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM and mounted it with foam tape.  To finish, I popped on a the “with love” sentiment from Spellbinders Sentiments Three.

I’ve now learned that when I sit down to make flowers, I should make lots of them at one sitting.  Yes, it seems hard to find the time, but that day usually ends up being one where nothing else is falling together and I feel creatively exhausted.  So, from the stash I created a week or two ago, came these flowers made using Spellbinders Urban Blooms.

    Hi Becca,
Another beautiful card – and yes, the silhouette is much more pretty than the die cut (I think, too).
At the end of a really busy, discordant day I thought “what can I do to come down from the feeling of fight and aggression” (unfortunately unavoidable in this instance) and there was the brainwave – look my favourites’ blogs – you, Sue Wilson and Kate Lycett. AND IT WORKS, so thank you Becca.

Love the beautiful dies you used to make these gorgeous frames with behind the little circel with the silouette, which also just looks fabulous. Congratulations to Jenne! I love this card….I think its because of the see through effect and the soft dreamy colors. What brand of background paper did you use? Its hard to find paper that has small soft muted colors. Beautiful Becca!ReplyCancel

Becca I love your beautiful cards and the detail work. I recently bought some of the spell binders intricate dies wanting to make my card prettier, but I am having trouble getting them to cut all the way through. I have a Cuttlebug I use and the sides will cut fine but the top and bottom will not cut all the way. I put shims under those areas, over the whole area, but still not cutting. What else do I need to do? What am I doing wrong?ReplyCancel

Using this as my model with these exact Spellbinder dies I want to make invitations for our ladies event at church. Can you tell me the the finished size of this card. I know it can’t be made from standard 12×12 or 8 1/2 x 11 so can you tell me how to cut my cardstock and piece it together to make the dies fit on the finished card. Thank you in advance for your help.ReplyCancel
