Today Is The Day

Hello there blog friends.  First, my prayers go out to the people in Japan and all those affected by that horrific earthquake last night.  I was up late watching the news when it happened and simply could not believe my eyes.  The tsunami was unbelievable.  While I was watching I just kept saying “oh no” and I guess my tone had enough alarm that my dog came in to see what I was so alarmed about.  Thankfully there was some notice and the Japanese are accustomed to earthquakes.   Again, my prayers.

I do have a card to share today using some of the new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The sentiment is from a set called Daffodil Tag Set and I’m also using a new set called Fancy Labels.  I took the opportunity to use some of my Zva Pearls – they are the perfect elegant embellishment.  Also, even though you all think I’m the wide ribbon girl – the seam binding I used today has the dreamiest drape.  I only wish that other ribbons had the same weight and feel and behaved like this.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Daffodil Tag Set, Fancy Labels
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill, Gold Foil
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Prussian Blue
AccessoriesSpellbinders Labels Seventeen, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Zva Creative Pearls, Recollections Flower

I’m working on a Becca Bit you’ve requested for later on today.  Come back and see me!!  Happy Friday!!

Beautiful card as all of your cards are!!

I could not sleep and turned on the computer. I have been watching the BBC live streaming coverage for hours . My heart goes out to all the people affected. Not only in Japan , but all the people in countries that are in the path of the Tsunami . Watching that Tsunami roll into Japan was terrifying. The BBC said this was the strongest earthquake in Japanese history. It will be days before they know the extent of the damage and lost lives. We all need to Pray for them!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca!
My prayers also go to the Japanese People. How devastating for them. I have a nephew living in Japan. Thank the Lord that he is okay. It happened at 5pm my time in Australia. I was like you Becca. Totally stunned.

Your card is beautiful. I love this scripture. I say this one every day when I pray. I love your flower. I love to make flowers. Not that I have for a long time.
I love the frame. It’s gorgeous.

    Becca,
I’m pretty new to your blog and I love it not only for the beauty of your art but for the words that I read on them! So inspiring, it’s almost like having a devotional moment :) every time I look at your cards.

Anyhow, I was curious as to how you line up your stamp to fit perfectly in the unscrolly area of the zva pearls? Which do you put down first? The stamped sentiment or the pearls?

Thank you for sharing what you love to do!ReplyCancel

Bekka, I am always delighted when visiting your blog, your creations are simply amazing. The spellbinders that you use always seem perfect for the end results. Your choices must be made from so many products, yet you always have the perfect combo. Thank you for sharing, and I join you in prayer for the people of Japan. I also pray that the tsunami will not impact the USA with the strong forces that can destroy our coastal areas.ReplyCancel

A stunning card, Becca! Just beautiful :0)

Wanted to pop in and say thank you for your sweet words about Japan and the TSUNAMI. My entire family is lives in Tokyo so imagine my surprise to read/listen to the news when I woke up. Thank goodness for FB. I was able to get a hold of them (phone lines are down)…they are safe…shaken but OK. I visited SENDAI where the TSUNAMI hit – it is a beautiful place. So sad for the area and its residence. Again, thank you, sweet lady for mentioning us. xoReplyCancel

    Beautiful card!
Yes, my prayers are going out to all the victims of this tragedy. It’s going right around the world all of this strife…so sad.
I sat up half the night listening to the broadcasts and am horrified to watch CNN! This they say is the 7th strongest in recorded history…and to hit during their day time when evreyone is at work.
They are even expecing the tsunami to hit Vancouver Island…talk about far reaching.ReplyCancel

I don’t traditionally listen to tv news, but I too was up late, and I heard about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I am not a worrier by nature. Because if I can not change things, I refuse to worry about them. But the news is so full of all sorts of horrible things, it’s almost impossible not to worry! Does that make sense? I was up late because my boyfriend called to tell me his mom is back in the hospital. So I slept about two hours total.
It’s going to be a long day! Please pray for her (Bev), and the family.
Thanks for your lush, and lovely card! I love the gold!

What’s the secret to getting shaped bling (like the Zva Pearls) to retain its shape so you can get it on the card properly? I’ve never used Zva Pearls, so maybe they are put together differently than the shaped pearls I’ve gotten from Michaels?ReplyCancel
