Hello sweet friends!  I have a card to share today but first I wanted to tell you how excited I am to be teaching at One Crazy Stamper in Toronto on May 4th, 2017.   How cool is that?  I’m rarely on the road teaching, but I feel so blessed to be getting out.  We’ll be creating an elegant yearly journal gift set with my new Filigree Booklet/Mini Card Die and just peek at the video that was made using the die —> HERE.  This is one of my personal favorites and I’ve designed additional inserts and accessories to go along with this die – coming later this year.  At any rate, I hope so much to meet some of my Canadian friends and northern US friends are welcome to drive in too.  For more info pop over to the OCS website and you can see the project. :-) Now on to my card for today…

My project today is one that created to display in the UK.  Typically their cards are much larger than ours but I used it as an excuse to make a card I would use for a ”grand” occasion – like an big anniversary or something where you really want the card to stand out over the other cards you send.   More importantly, the size of this card matches the scale of this grand border I used – Spellbinders Graceful Floral Lace.  At 8.5″x 8.5″ I’ve decided it will either reach its destination in a regular bubble wrap envelope or I’ll make a special envelope with my Envelope Punch Board.  This is a two color, two die card made using Spellbinders Graceful Frame Maker and the Spellbinders Graceful Floral Lace.  I’ll give you a hint the cutting of the floral frame was done the same way I did in constructing a scrapbook page frame in this technique video at the 5 minute mark.  With this technique I used the entire length and width of the die cut.    Today I opted for a sweet sentiment from Quietfire DesignFollow Your Dreams.

Woo Hoo! You are coming to Bolton, which is about an hour north of Toronto but only 20 minutes from my house! Checking my travel schedule now so I can book in for the class. I have followed you for years, joined your Kit Club, bought your Bow Maker (2 of them, one as a gift), made a lot of your designs….. I will probably faint when I get to meet you. Oh, and your card is beautiful, as is all that you do.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca you have been a busy girl ! This card is lovely everything about it ….
In the U.K. they seem to make these and sit them in a holder and write on the back as they don’t open like a card we do , is that so with this one ?
Congrats on teaching in Canada lucky ladies…… Hugs PamxxxReplyCancel

    • Becca FeekenApril 12, 2017 - 8:53 pm

Lol, Pam, that shows what I know. I never opened one of the cards so I assumed you could write inside and I sure didn’t know the writing was on the back. Heck, I’m long winded…I might need both the inside and the backside :-)ReplyCancel

      • Patricia HowarthApril 13, 2017 - 8:33 am

Hi Becca, Just seen Pam’s Blog Comment, to be honest there are only a couple of people who make cards that don’t open, the majority of us always make opening cards, just sayin’ haha.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  • ANN ROBBINSApril 12, 2017 - 9:23 pm

    Hello Becca,
Congrats to you on teaching in Canada, those folks are so lucky, sure wish I could take one of your classes but Canada is too far from Florida. Lol might as well be Australia like NOELENE said.
Now that I am finally done with my thirty-two, that’s right 32 cards for the 2 card swaps at Scrapbook Expo, I must get my Becca dies out and the frame maker and try them. Only had for a little over 2 months so now is the time.
This is such a georgous card, as are all your creations. Have a Blessed Easter, my friend.
    Hugs xx

P.S. Thanks for your wonderful comments on my cards, I really appreciate them coming from my mentor.ReplyCancel

I’m excited to hear about new dies coming from you, Becca. I love the variety that can be created using your Border Collection and will definitely be purchasing your new dies. This card is lovely and I love the size I know A2 cards are more common here in the US but I’ve always preferred larger cards so this appeals to me a lot. I think a larger card makes a bigger statement and allows more creative space.

I wish I could travel to Canada to attend your class! Enjoy it!ReplyCancel
