One Can Never Have Enough Cameos

WRBF-3778-2012
Seriously, Happy Friday sweet blog friends!  I’m giddy about the coming weekend; it would be hard to peg why – so, just because.  As Forest Gump would say, for no particular reason :-)  I’ve had a very blessed week – ran into and old friend, talked to my sister for quite a while and in general, just thankful because my little world is okay (I hope yours is too).  So this card has been on the edge of my desk for a week  – I just knew I wanted to highlight the cameo in this month’s Graceful Monogram release from JustRite Papercrafts; I thought the more elaborate dies would show it off in good fashion.   I started with a card base using Spellbinders™ Enchanted Labels Twenty Eight – if you’re curious how I do this on the front and the back, you can see my tutorial on Filigree Card Bases—–> HERE.  I wanted a hint of color so I simply cut the Enchanted Labels Twenty Eight again and trimmed off the filigree and the edges to create a layer from lavender cardstock.  Added on top of that layer is Spellbinders™ Elegant Labels Four, stamped with JustRite’s Garden Gate Background.  Stepping up the next layer is Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals SM followed by the Cameo stamped onto a layer from Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals LG.

For the Happy Mothers Day sentiment, I reached back to a classic from JustRite Papercrafts called Vintage Rose Medallions, it fits perfectly on Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags.

Beautiful lavender color and layering of dies. I love the cameos, too, and still am wowed every time I see them used. This card is resplendent with the bow and flower and gorgeous filigree to show off the beautiful silhouette. I wish you even had more pictures of each of your cards….there is so much detail to study!ReplyCancel

Wow, how very beautiful. Love the lavender color. You are absolutely brilliant with your colors, design, etc.etc. Hope you have a wonderful weekend also. I don’t think spring is here exactly with some days in the 80’s and others waking up to 40’s. I have been spring cleaning though.
    Hugs.

Gorgeous Becca – love the colour combo and the cameo die is beautiful. I tried your filigree card base tutiorial – very good – (now I know why spellbinders are bringing out the magnetic plate). Nice to hear you have had a good week – simple pleasures do lift your spirit don’t they? tfs.

This is just gorgeous! I love the lace look of the Spellbinder dies you have been using lately. You do a fabulous job of making every card beautiful. Thanks for sharing how to do this with us. As to spring fever, yes I have it. The buds on the trees are starting to swell and some signs of spring flowers are coming up through the ground. But 6+ inches of snow is expected tonight. It won’t last long though. Happy springtime to you!ReplyCancel

  • Francie in MontrealMarch 22, 2013 - 8:40 am

Lovely lavender… Serene and elegant; intricate and graceful. I can’t take my eyes off it.
Although the calendar says spring, our Montreal weather still says winter. That’s ok with me. I like cold, crisp air and snow. But spring is truly a magical time with new life. It’s maple syrup time – yum. Several weeks later, the delightful spring flowers push their little heads through the hard earth to decorate our neighbourhoods. We’re truly blessed with four seasons.ReplyCancel

A truly stunning card, Becca, lilac is my favourite colour and combined with the lacy die-cuts, truly stunning. I am so glad your world is good at the moment, today is not one of my ‘good’ days, it is the 26th Anniversary of the death of my eldest Son, so not a good day, and it is snowing here in the UK too, I braved the snow to get to the crematorium to lay flowers and look at my inscription in the Book of Remembrance. Your card has really cheered me up, any Mother would be proud to receive this card, it is stunning.
Lots of love from Patricia xxReplyCancel

Hi Becca this card is gorgeous! I love these new dies but I was told that you need a special metal plate to hold the dies for cutting. Could you do a video when you make another one of these cards using the new dies? Please!!!ReplyCancel
