Frills and Just My Type – New Cuttlebug Embossing Borders!

by on July 27, 2008

Well, I thought I would take a break from the Cuttlebug stuff, but I received a couple of emails requesting to see the borders, so here you are!   This card includes 4 separate borders – three from the Frills set and one from the Just My Type Set.  Although they are easy to use, I found out very soon that it takes extra caution to get them lined up straight – I used tape to secure them.  The embossed lines you see framing the sentiment were done on the Scor-Pal.  I embossed all elements at once then with my stampajig lined up the lines of text from my sentiment stamp.  I used Fabriano Acquarello Watercolor paper for the base card and embossing; it is popped up on coral shimmery cardstock from The Paper Company.   The header border is punched from the Martha Stewart Scallop Punch (this one might be my favorite) and it is done on both sides to break up the monotony of the square card.  Lastly, the butterfly is made from another Cuttlebug set that cuts, then embosses the butterfly – how cool is that!!

If there is something in particular you’d like to see, please don’t hesitate to ask.  Just send me a comment or email.   Some have asked questions and I’m slowly working my way through email – thanks for being patient, I’ll get to you in the next day or so.  Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments!

This is one of the folders I am thinking of getting too ! lol – beautifully used here , Becca ! love the white on white idea ! But your stamped sentiments are also perfect here !

Do let us know your thoughts on these new folders frankly ! Do you recommend rushing to the nearest online / store to buy them ? lol frankly I don’t have that sense that they are unlike the earlier releases but I could be wrong of course !

I have just been introduced by a fellow Stampin’ Up stamper to your blog. I absolutely love the way you use the new cuttlebug folders. It is so nice to see your original designs using the new folders. Gives me so many new ideas…always welcomed. I love how you used the borders within the card…what a great idea. Thanks.

Unbelieveable, I know how difficult it is to get everything to line up perfectly, and then you went in and added the sentiments, Oh my goodness, you are one talented lady! I absolutely love your use of embossing dies, punches, etc. You take mere paper and turn it into incredible works of art!

I love the simplisity (sp) yet beauty of this card. I especially like the butterfly, I am partial to them. Could you please tell me the name of the embossing folder or set you used for this butterfly? I also wanted to let you know that the lining up of the borders is exceptional, I did not know Cuttlebug could be used for this. I just got my little machine in the mail, I have no idea how to use it but now I’ve learned something else I can’t do and need to learn. Thanks for sharing another beautiful card.

Dear Becca,

A link to another card you made was found on SCS using the CB borders. Where can I find/purchase them.? What you’ve done here is gorgeous and these borders would help me make a beautiful wedding invites for when my daughter gets engaged and is planning her wedding!
