Good morning sweet friends! How does Friday get here so soon, lol? I’ve shared this card on the Spellbinders Blog but wanted to show it here today so that I could offer it for Day of Giving Friday. When I showed it before I offered step by step directions on how to put it together and you can see those instructions HERE. To cut the frame into four neat mitered pieces as I have above, I’m using Spellbinders 6×6 Graceful Frame Maker – you can see a video on how this die does it magic HERE. The focal die that I’m using for the card is Spellbinders Sweet Words and from that set I’m using the Hugs Border. At the top of the card I’ve used Spellbinders Art Deco – Deco Duality cut using Spellbinders A2 Bracket Border. I used my favorite embossing folder – Spellbinders Floral Embossing Folder – I think it adds just that special touch of texture to the top of the card.
Just as a note of follow up, I went to my friends funeral last weekend – she was a fellow crafter and we’ve been in the same small crafting group that has met every month for approaching 18 years. It was a sweet celebration of her going home but her illness was pretty short and the swiftness in which it all happened caught so many of us off guard. I say that because she has been on my mind this week, and her circumstances have had me deep in reflection. That’s how it happens, isn’t it? We get so busy with things – some that are important and some that are not. Yes, there is sadness, but yet she leaves me with a sweet gift to do some course correction and fine tuning to make sure life is as full as it can be. I thank her for that reminder.
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card. The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11. You can check the list of winners HERE! For your comment: Kindness can be as simple as a smile, a hug, lending a shoulder or sending a card. What is your favorite way to share your kindness?

Good evening Becca. Personally I like to give a hug.Followed by a smile. Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs. Jan.x
This IS “gorgeous!” ;) I like to send a card for an act of kindness. I think people enjoy the thought that YOU made the card, with them in-mind. That is one of the reasons I prefer to make my cards at the time of need & not just grab one from my stash. ;) (Although, there are times, I have to do this because of time constraints.)
So very pretty. I send cards to show kindness. I also think a smile and. Nice word goes a long way.
Is there no end to your creativity? Emboss a plain boarder. That is SO cool.
My favorite way to show kindness is to be there is someone needs me. I’m not much of a social friend for lunches and phone calls but I will be there always.
I like the hugs frame! And I’m so sorry to hear about your friend, Becca. My condolences to you, he family and friends.
I like to listen and share a hug. So easy to do, and it means so much.
So very pretty. I always smile when greeting anyone and try to give a compliment several times a day. Just being friendly to strangers makes them feel more comfortable.
Hi Becca…sending SMILES and HUGS your way to thank you for your inspiration and kindness shown to me! You are a TREASURE!!!!! Your card is lovely as always they are…thank you for sharing with us!
I love to SMILE at people as I am on my way somewhere…such a delight to see them SMILE back, even tho’ we do not know each other. A SMILE is such an easy thing to give and always helps to brighten the day!
Hi again Becca,
This is one ? (HaHa)favs and I have been tuned in for about 8-9 years. When I think of you, I think Hugs so this cards says it all about you! Always ending your blog with hugs, made me start doing the same.
I think sending a card shows my act of kindness as everyone of my friends know that I make all my cards. Therefore when a fellow worker’s Mom died, even though we had a little falling out, I still sent him a card as I knew how much his mother meant to him. I later stumbled upon him and he hugged me and said, You don’t know how much that card made to me. I will never throw it away.” I was truly honored for him to tell me that.
Bless you my friend,
What a lovely sentiment on this beautiful card of yours. I’m loving my frame maker mad often loose a couple of hours trying out the different borders that Spellbinders have created over the years.
I always try to smile back at people when people are polite to me and to have their politeness returned back to them.
Love the card! I like to smile and offer a kind word at everyone that I meet, whether at work or just in the grocery store. We never know what others are going through and often a smile and kind word can give them the strength to keep fighting.
Listening is one of the ways that I like to show kindness. Also just giving a hug for no reason at all. I am sorry about your friend but it sounds like she now with her Savior. Oh yes, thank you for sharing the card. Have a blessed weekend.
What a beautiful card! I never tire seeing your craft and how you inspire me to “think outside the box”.
Thank you for focusing on kindness, we can never have too much in this world. I use all the expressions you listed but my favorite is offering my prayers-especially, when things appear hopeless.
Blessings sweet lady,
Beautiful card!! I enjoy spreading kindness with a smile for everyone or by lending an ear to anyone who needs it. I enjoy spreading kindness :-).
Thanks for sharing your creative cards!
Hi Becca, A really beautiful card, at first glance I thought it looked like a window frame with a ‘pelmet’ (valance) at the top of the window.
I love to smile at everyone and I will do anything I can to offer help to anyone, kindness helps everyone and costs nothing.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
I usually use laughter as a way to show kindness sometoimes as a distraction but mostly to lighten the load. beautiful card today.
Such a beautiful Card Becca! Loved it! My way to show kindness is to help people without expecting anything in return and also to make them smile and spread happiness around me!
Fabulous card Becca! Always love your bows the best.
Hugs are a favorite of mine, but I love making and giving a card for no reason. Love giving cards.
A smile goes a long way, I believe! Beautiful card!
Your cards are always such a breath of joy when you share them with us, Becca. Thank you so much. I love giving hugs, listening to people who need to talk, sending cards “just because”, and smiling.
Simply gorgeous as always. I adore the frame maker die and love the hugs die. Listening and offering a helping hand are the easiest ways to show kindness.
So hard losing anyone…I like to send cards or a little gift…hugs a lot too…beautiful card as always..
This is truly gorgeous.
I find that the best act of kindness I can give a person is time.
Such a lovely card.
I love all your cards.
I have all your new dies on my list to buy in the next few months.
I love them.
Sharing kindness with a hug and a smile is so easy to do and so much appreciated. Always love your gorgeous cards! I so appreciate all you share. Hugs
It’s far nicer to be kinder and offer a smile even if it’s the only thing you have to give.
Love this card Becca.
Have a great weekend xxx
Such a beautiful card. A think a smile goes a long way, especially to strangers at the bus stop!
Beautiful card. The most precious thing you can give to someone is your time, so my kindness would be to give someone just that. Whether that would be doing things together, helping out or just listening.
Love the card. My act of kindness is smile to someone you see in public, but a card is always appreciated by the person who you sent it to. Christine S.
I like to show it by being patient with someone when they are nervous or upset about how to do something. If you keep calm you can keep them calm most of the time.
My favorite form of kindness is a hug, but I must say, I enjoy doing them all!
“Hello”….a simple word, greeting, acknowledgement, friendship, wishing you well, have a good day. A five letter word that goes a long way to make your day and someone else’s day good. I like to greet anyone with a ‘hello or hi’ while shopping, walking the dog, in the library, in the restaurant. It doesn’t hurt to say it and acknowledge the other person’s existence. So Hello, have a great day.
Becca, so sorry to hear about your friend. It sounds like you know she is with the Lord. That is the hope we hall have. How beautiful! I love the hugs die. I got it too! I will have to send you some pics of a wedding card I made with it. My favorite form of kindness is sending a card. I get such a blessing from it as well! “HUGS”, LIsa
Beautiful card. I make a phone call or send a card.
Good morning Becca, Beautiful card!!! I like to say Good morning and pass the time of day, smile as you pass by it works wonders.
Thinking of you sweetie!!!
Have a good one!!!
A beautiful card Becca – and a bitter sweet week for you. Hugs.
As I am mainly housebound (or at a hospital appt) these days with DH being so ill, I try to send cards when I can to others in the extended family who are also unwell. I also comment as much as I can on others blogs to encourage them in their crafting.
Of course there is always prayer in the mix!!
Hi Becca. This is a beautiful card, as always. Depending on the situation My kindness would be to smile or give someone my time. Xx
Ahh, love your Becca beautiful bows that always give your cards the perfect accent. Now that I am making handmade cards, I generally send a card to show my kindness. Again, sorry for the loss of your long time crafting friend – 18 years is a long time to share ideas with someone. I know you will miss her.
Wow… this one is a beauty! Love the textures and details!
Giving my time is how I like to show kindness.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. My brother is going through a very difficult time and I just got home from an 8 hour drive on my return trip from seeing him. I hope my visit was a help to him and that it meant as much to him as it did to me. Rough times ahead as he is diagnosed with Parkinson’s with dementia.
Becca, Another beautiful card.
I like to hugs people & help them in any way I can.
What a beautiful card. I love the hugs border. I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. My favorite way of sharing a kindness is with a hug. If someone lives too far away for a hug, I send them one in the form of a card. I also like to leave comments on blogs or in galleries to encourage fellow stampers.
Another beautiful card as always.I see you are coming to One Crazy Stamper which is about 2hrs from where I live, Oh how I wish I could come, if it was earlier in the day as I don’t drive much at night any more and it would be very late and I am now a old lady.I would love to see you again, I met you quite a few yrs. ago when I used to winter in Panama City Beach and would go to the Emerald Coast stamp club at Michael’s. At one of the classes I taught how to make a box that held about 6 cards it had a pen and address book I don’t think you would remember. I see the club is no more.I will stop my rambling now. Hugs

Another beautiful card Becca! Love your use of dies and I still like that spellbinder graceful Frame maker. When I want to keep in touch I might phone a friend or maybe send a special card
So sorry for your loss. It’s never easy no matter the circumstances. We miss our friends and loved ones even tho we know they are in Heaven. Love this beautiful card! I’ll check out the dies coz one of them has caught my eye! TYFS! Love n hugs
I like to send a card as a way of sharing kindness. That old-fashioned personal touch shows the extra effort to let someone know they are special. Beautiful card!!
Listening attentively and keeping promises to pray for others.
Oops! I like sending cards, giving hi and hello and smiles to strangers, hugs n love on FB.
I loved this card on Spellbinders blog and love it herre. I appreciate seeing how you used this particular die in your collection. It’s pink too, so perfect!
I like to send a card I’ve made and include a short poem I’ve written on the inside. I always hop we that it brings a bit of sunshine into the recipients life.
Have a great weekend, Becca!
beautiful card! sending a card, a smile, a hug, lo whatever is needed!
Another beautiful card. I send cards and sign with “hugs”. Wish mine were as awesome as yours.
Pretty card again today. When I saw it, I thought this is a perfect 50th wedding anniversary card. Our 50th is coming up on April 15th. Think I will try one for my hubby. Depends on how close I am to the person, I start with a hug and smile. Then I make a card with them in mind. A gentle reminder they are not alone. Sincere Sympathy to you on your loss of a special friend.
pretty card! Our friend had been sick alot longer than anyone knew except me. She and I talked every weekend until the summer. I will and do miss her deeply. As an act of kindness I call and check up on people, give hugs or words of encouragement whatever seems to be the right gesture for the moment.
Lovely card. I like to extend genuine, sincere, personal compliments.
I Becca. Great card as always. Kindness can be shown in many ways depending on the person and situation. A friend lost her dad recently. I sent her a card of hugs which she said she really needed. And another with an angel on that arrived on the day of the funeral. We don’t live close so it was lots of phone calls which she really appreciated.
Dear Becca! Your kindness shines through your beautiful cards! I think a simple smile is my favorite way to show kindness. A smile is universal…no language barriers! Smiles are even understood by other species….my dogs will tell you that! Sending a virtual smile your way. :)
Your Card is like a hug made to my heart. Thanks !
I like giving hugs but it´s not so appreciated at home. So that I lost its savour, even if I feel an abyssal lack of receiving.
However, People say they are pleased by my smile, filled with compassion and no judgment.
Hi Becca this card is lovely I try to give time, hugs and
lots of love hugs Pamxxx
For me it is making a card and offering an ear or shoulder. Beautiful cats!
Being a good listener is a great act of kindness!
Just as gorgeous as always from you Becca. Another stunning card.
i’ve always loved this quote
Love this card, only thing I couldn’t find was the design paper you mentioned with that beautiful rose on it. That really helped to balance the whole thing as well as add the subtle color.
I too love to send cards as a means to share kindness…if I am close locally, I will provide hugging services as well as open ended time for crying if need be.
Stunning card Becca, your embellishments are glorious. My favourite way to show kindness is being supportive to my husband, friends etc in whatever capacity it takes x x x
My favorite way to show kindness is to be genuine. To show true love for my fellow man. To approach each person as an individual who matters and is important. From this vantage point we can speak honestly and truthfully. You can be truthful and kind. Lovely card!
P.S.! So sorry for the loss of your friend. Hope you have plenty fond memories of her and of times you’ve shared.
Hi Becca! What a lovely card as always!
I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend and for the speed of her illness which took so many by surprise.
I’m sending love and hugs as I’m a bit of a hugger!
Anne (UK) x
This is DELIGHTFUL! I love to share kindness by way of handmade gifts and cards.
