I had this frame in my mind for days so I finally sat down to try to figure it out. I knew that I wanted a dressy card and I think the eyelet border punch played into it well. I cut strips of eyelet border and mitered the edges to make a frame, then I went back and punched the slits with the Fiskars Leave it to Weaver border punch. Once the slits were done, I taped the frame together on the back and then scored above and below the slits with my ScorPal just to give a little bit more definition and to repeat the border. The royal blue ribbon is woven in one piece through the card and tied into a bow where the ends meet and large pearl brads added to each corner. The eyelet frame is popped up on a blue foil frame panel which is popped up on a gold foil frame panel – each with a cut out using my square nestie. The sentiment is gold embossed on base card where it will show through the window – the eyelet frame is popped up onto the base card.
The card is finished by adding ribbon on the bottom. I tied knots just for something different. If you can’t tell, I’m on a foil kick…I have a bit in my stash but noticed that Walmart is selling fun new colors so I’ll have to try them too. Craft your heart out this weekend!
