Spellbinders Goodies Winners

Hi there friends, whoa today was an adventure for me.  This week I’ve managed to knock off quite a few things I’ve been avoiding.  I knew when the time came, I would have a go at them – even if reluctantly.  Two brown widows and 5 snakes later, I managed to get my lawn mowed.  Who knew, and we don’t live in the country!!   These were all within the first 15 minutes and all in the front part of the yard.  Well actually after I saw the last snake, I hung it up and called my daughter but at least it is done, right?  The guy who used to mow the yard just quit coming (what economy is he living in, right?)      At any rate, (although it took me alllllllll day) my triumph today was going in the shed which hasn’t been opened for more than nine months, getting the lawn mower out and getting the battery charge.  We had a spider colony breeding in there, but I  got ’em.  Oh so glad it’s done!! Well I bet you are wondering who won the goodies I brought back from CHA – well, here they are!!

Ladies, reach out to me through the contact tab at the top of my page and let me know your mailing addresses within the next 48 hours.  I’ll get these out in my next post office run.  After 48 hours however, I’ll pick a new name :-)

Blessings all!!  See you tomorrow!

Wow you are amazingly brave – I am so pleased we don’t have any of those nasties living here in good ole New Zealand, I definitely would not be mowing my lawn if we did -probably wouldn’t even venture outside!!!!!!ReplyCancel

I can so relate to you. 7 yrs ago when my husband John died, I had never been on a lawn mower – he always handled that stuff. After sitting on it for 45 min – trying to figure out how to start the darn thing – I just sat and cried and then I got mad. I live in the middle of 5 acres, so here I am crying and screaming , this is your fault John if you had just taught me how to do this. I mean I was having a full-blown meltdown. I mashed my foot hard on the pedal – and it engaged and started. lol then all I could do was laugh. The next Summer, I found a guy to cut the grass. I, too, had a guy just quit cutting my grass this Summer – Praise God , He sent me someone from my church to fill the gap. I’ll be praying He sends someone for you too. Next time I’ll have to tell you my bat story. .. love yaReplyCancel

    Congratulations, ladies!!

Spiders and snakes ——-you are so brave, Becca! I would have been startled and frightened with the first encounter, then I would have gotten angry and defiant with each discovery and probably would have embarrassed myself with the neighbors, doing all sorts of dancing and jerking to get rid of the creatures. Not a pretty sight!

    I’m proud of you.

Congratulations, ladies. From personal experience I can tell you you’ll enjoy what Becca sends!

Becca, well done on getting the job done! Spiders I can handle with a can of spray and something to thump them with if need be, but snakes?!?!? How big and what type? We’ve had dugites (a poisonous Aussie type) in our yard, one of which bit our dog and I’m so thankful we were home and able to get her to the vet immediately so she could have the anti-venom, even if it was very expensive.ReplyCancel

Let’s see, Spiders and Snakes, you think they thought it was their lawn? Bless your heart for “gettin it done”. Hope you can find a lawn person soon. Around here in my area, (Georgia) we live for weeks at a time with no rain, so that means the grass grows s l o w l y , or not at all. Course that also means brown lawns, oh except for the green weeds…… go figure……. : ) Blessing to us all…….. DeniceReplyCancel

Ugh. Snakes. I hate them. We’ve had them in our yard the past couple of years; we think it might be because we are the only people on our section of the street who haven’t cleared the woods in back of our house. I haven’t seen any of the big ones, but other family members have. I am afraid to go out in the yard, that’s how much I hate them! I feel your pain.ReplyCancel

  • trishJuly 30, 2011 - 12:04 am

Congratulations to the winners. you will have a wonderful time with these amazing new dies.
Becca I think after the first snake I would have been out of there. But well done on getting your lawns all done.

  • RonnyJuly 30, 2011 - 12:14 am

Oh, my heck! I would have a heart attack if we had snakes in our yard.
I wouldn’t care what they were–a snake is a snake and I am terrified of them. Can’t imagine 5 of them! Spiders arent much better, if I ever
see one in my house I have my trusty broom that I beat them to death with..

Congratulations to the winners, I know they are excited !ReplyCancel

Ugh, snakes. At least in the Pacific NW, our snakes are basically of the harmless garden variety. One of our cats kept bringing them into the house when we first moved here. She couldn’t understand why we weren’t tickled to death with them.
Congratulations to the winners of the most recent goodies.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, I do live in the country on a horse farm and battle snakes and spiders all the time. spray that shed with a product called demon i use it in the house and out, its safe around pets after it dries, and delta dust in cracks and corners, also i buy flat glue traps not raised at lowes and connect a few togetter leave them out at night next to house walls and you will catch them, i also lay them inside pvc pipes in the bushes, my daughter almost lost a leg from a spider bite so I stay on top of them, if you see a fuzzy white ball that is a sack with around 500 eggs in it, mix that demon in a bottle and spray that sackReplyCancel

I vote for changing the name of your website to “Amazingly Brave Paper Grace”. Is everybody in? Let me see a show of hands. 1, 2, 3, … 25,765, 25,766, 25,767! It’s unanimous, Becca. When you start your website redesign, please take this into consideration. Seriously now, you are one extremely courageous lady!

To Beth and Tammy – you lucky ducks! I’m green with envy. Kidding. Have a blast with your new toys.ReplyCancel

  • Sylvia/LittleTreasuresJuly 30, 2011 - 10:34 am

So glad your a brave gal. I spent 18 yrs alone and can handle almost everything. Spiders and snakes I could handle. But don’t even show me a picture of a bat or a mouse and I’m gone. We all have our breaking point.
    Have a wonderful weekend.ReplyCancel

  • Betty GoodsonJuly 30, 2011 - 10:38 am

Congrats to the winners. I too have to battle the spiders and snakes. Every time I close my eyes I see the huge one laying next to my sandal shod foot (wonder I didn’t step on it) It was so big I never saw its end, but of course I didn’t stay around long either. We see some every year, mostly not poisonous, but I have stepped over the bad kind a time or two. Even the harmless ones still scare the daylights out of me. I haven’t ventured out much since that episode, but it’s so hot right now, the snakes are probably hiding too.ReplyCancel
