Signs of Christmas

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Signs of Christmas
Just as the craft stores are starting to put out Christmas decorations (yes, I said Christmas decorations), I have some cover to throw out a little arrangement of my own.  I’m so thankful that there are some crafters that work on this year round.  Me?  I’m a last minute Lucy so I’m tickled when I can share a Christmas card.  Thanks for peeking in to today blog friends, I’m sharing a card from new releases with JustRite Papercraft using the Signs of Christmas set.  I just love the sign pole/light pole and used it on my card, fully making use of the svg cut files but die hard fussy cut fans can certainly have a go at it too.
Signs of Christmas by Becca Feeken (close up)
I cut the post and sign before stamping with Versafine Black Onyx and embossing with clear embossing powder.  The filigree background is one of my favorite EK Success Punches (Scroll Pattern) and in my video in the shown link,  I show you how you can make this Bordered Filled Background.  I added a bow and glittered flower from the Michaels $1 Bin and glued some bells to the inside of the flower.  (I’m such a bell lover :-) and plan to use them often this season).  Oh and I spend a ton of time always trying to find the “right” paper . . . that’s one of the reasons I’ll print off a piece of digital paper in a heartbeat.  At this very moment I can’t remember where I got this music paper but when I figure it out, I’ll fill in the details.  I made this card last month and didn’t write the details down because I was confident I’d remember . . . well, you see how that turned out.

This is truly a great card! I didn’t see what the green filigree die was. The bow, the little flower, bell, pearls, everything about this card is fantastic.

Anyway, my friend, I want to thank you for all your inspiration throughout the whole year.

Gorgeous card, Becca. I love the layering and colours. You’ve really taken the stamp to the next level. I would never have though to put bells into the flower centres – great idea. I can’t wait to start my Christmas cards with this beautiful set.

  • Norah McPheeJuly 13, 2014 - 5:53 am

    Good morning Becca,
I am one of the fussy cut people a) because if there has to be white border around then i like an even border but b) i don’t have a fancy cutting machine so see (a). I think though on your beautiful card that the white border around the black of the post just adds to your card and helps the post shine through. I am with you on bells Becca as i love the tinkle from them. I found a wire heart covered in them very cheap in Dunelms so did what all good crafters do and took it to bits to use the tiny bells. The wire heart i have kept to make into a vintage piece so everything is for a purpose.
    Take care dear lady,
    Love and crafty hugs

    Hi Becca,
I’m with Kelly Flaherty regarding Halloween cards (we don’t do thanksgiving in the UK as you know!) and I’ve exhausted my stamp selection and cutting silhouettes by hand is SO time consuming. Although I think I’ve exhausted that process as well.
Any ideas – pretty please xReplyCancel
