Todays simple card features a new set from Flourishes – Figs and Pomegranates. It’s a sultry, sultry image and it colors up beautifully. I so struggled with the pictures here as they don’t show the vibrant green of the watercolored background or the rich sparkle of the gold ribbon I wrapped around a paper frame. I hope you’ll take my word for it. :) This is one of three new sets released this week with Flourishes,you can see the others here.
The card was made by washing pesto reinker over watercolor paper for the background. I then cut a small frame and wrapped it with ribbon and mounted it to watercolored panel. The pomegranate image was colored with Adirondack reinkers and mounted on top of a duplicate colored image. The inside of the frame is cut with SpellbindersClassic Square Large. I added the gold corners to spice things up a little bit then finished the panel by adding at tag from the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Set. Finally, the focal panel of the card is set on 140lb watercolor paper.

I would have never of thought to wrap the satin ribbon around the frame! It softens the card and brings your attention to the center of the card and your fabulous coloring! I love all the gold accents, this is one GORGEOUS card!!!

Bwahaha! I just looked again–those are pomegranates–not figs! Never mind–they are perfect too! :-) My great uncle used to grow little pomegranates and give me one just to make my room smell sweet. (We didn’t know that you could eat them. :-P)
