Double Stamped Backgrounds

Good morning blog friends!  I confess, it is no secret that I’m partial to background stamps! Recently I received a couple of background stamps from JustRite Papercrafts and besides the Fleurista Newsprint Background Stamp that I’ve used several times this month, I fell in love with the Heart Scroll Background Stamp.  It’s huge and it has a very large motif with bold lines – I immediately wondered how it would look overstamped or combined with another background stamp.  I experimented with colors and came up with a double stamped background that I really like.  It’s an easy technique and I give you the 1, 2, 3 and additional pictures at the bottom of my post.

My card is a simple two layer card.  I let the beauty of the double stamping show as much as possible.

I also used JustRite Papercrafts Summer Words for the sentiment.  Both the flag and the heart in the upper left corner were cut using – Vintage Labels and Banner Dies

So in my mind the jury is in . . . because the Heart Scroll background has big bold elements – I think it will work in tandem with many of the other JustRite Stampers Backgrounds  :-) You can click on the three thumbnails below to see the sequence to coordinating a double stamped background.,

1.  Stamp your first background stamp with distress  ink – when picking your two stamps be sure to test them before going on to the real thing.  I try to pick a small print and a large print for the overstamping.

2.  Stamp your second background stamp using embossing powder, then emboss with clear embossing powder.

3.  Using a distress in sponge, smudge over the embossed cardfront using an ink of your choice.  This is the resulting panel you’ll get.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  JustRite Papercrafts – Heart Scroll Background StampFleurista Newsprint Background Stamp,  Summer Words
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Cream, Bazzill, Versamark
Ink: Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories: .Vintage Labels and Banner Dies, Clear Embossing Powder, Lace, Seam Binding, Twine, Paper Doily, Safety pin, pearls, flowers, gauze

Becca, bless your heart. You know, one day about a week ago, I found this card on some site and I do not know where I was. It has been on my mind and in my heart since. I tried to find it again and with no luck Tonight, after seeing my emails, I decided to check in on you. And here it is. Thank you Lord!! He is so faithful. And you are so blessed. Now I have the answers I needed about this card. And I have been reading and reading all the comments to you and your followers love you, honey. And so do I. But then we have a common bond. We both love our creator. I am, your sister in Christ, Bonnie.ReplyCancel
